Sampler plate. Heaven. Black beans also come with it in their own container.

Gonna keep this one short and sweet. Everything here is phenomenal. I recommend starting out with the sampler platter which is just mind blowing. The meats are highly seasoned and the mojo sauce is fantastic. Perfect black beans and rice. The yuca con mojo is transcendent, like nothing I've ever had before. Best cart that I've tried at the Mercado

Ali with her vegan Cuban plate, all the side orders really :-)

Finally another Cuban option in Portland! Great offering of classic Cuban dishes, with spot on flavors. First week opened so still dialing it all in, but nonetheless excellent. This is good food that comes from the childhoods and hearts of Leonardo and Brenda that served us today. My pan con bistec and side of yucca were very good, and Ali's beans, rice, and platanos were just perfect. Well done guys! We'll be back soon :))

Finally getting around to eating at the many food carts around Portland. Had more trouble pronouncing the items we wanted than knowing what to eat. Let me say the food was very good and the service was great. Very friendly people. Fish in the dish I ordered had lots of flavor and cook just right. Prices were were good and easy on the wallet. Outdoor seating, lots of people and had no trouble finding a place to seat and eat. Being so far from Florida its good to know you can find a place to get a good Cuban meal. Fried banana chips was a nice change from potato chips. Veggies on my order were fresh and we were almost to full from our order by the time we were done eating.

The worst. Avoid at all costs. Unless you want to wait 30+ minutes for your food. And continue to be told "just 5 more minutes."

STOP. Come here IMMEDIATELY. I popped in for brunch on a Sunday, no wait, Sat right at the bar. Vibrant bright sun filling the place, upbeat tunes playing. Handful of tables occupied. The vibes were 10/10 I pulled up a barstool and the menu had a lot of solid, tempting options. I went with a pressed Cuban sandwich topped with fried egg, bacon strips, hollandaise and sliced avocado. Had a beer and a shit, tasty. It was PERFECT. I'm coming back again, frequently, before this place POPS OFF. Gotta be a regular for me going forward. It is just GREAT!!!

Their space is very colorful and has a lot of fun energy. Their menu is pretty focused but the items all sound very tasty. We went with an Empanada of the day, The Cubano, and the Bandeja. Their focused menu certainly paid off when you see how fresh and well-executed their dishes were. The empanada of the day was a mushroom and cheese. It's made fresh so the cheese was nice and gooey. Their crust is different from what I'm used to. It seems to be a mix of maize and cornmeal rather than flour. I think it gave a nice crunchy crust and slightly chewy inside. A bit small for the price though. The Cubano was again made fresh. Bread was nice and crispy. Inside was filled with hearty meat and cheese. A solid sandwich, especially when paired with their pico de gallo. The start of the meal was easily the Bandeja. You can choose between chicken and flat iron steak for the Bandeja; we went with the steak and we weren't disappointed. It's cooked medium-rare, making the steak super tender. The outside crust was well-seasoned and flavorful. The Plato came with a lot of other tasty things like a perfect over-easy egg, rice and beans, avocado, and the best chicharron I've had. It's small but packed a punch. The outside was crispy all around while the fat layer was still melt-in-your-mouth soft. This dish had everything, perfect for sharing. The staff were attentive and friendly. Happy hour is from 3-5PM on weekdays. All in all, we had an amazing meal and will be spreading the word of their goodness for sure.

The atmosphere itself is classic for what you'd expect of a family run restaurant. There's nice decor on the walls and welcoming music playing. It's not a huge establishment but definitely big enough for multiple parties to sit. I wound up getting the pork sandwich which came out in around 10 min with a small lunch rush. The sandwich was rich in flavor and the meat itself was super tender. The bread was also delicious as I know it's made fresh locally. Some of the bbq flavor and the mayo I couldn't taste so it might have felt slightly one note but it was a good note to say the least. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.
