It has been very successful with lines out the door, especially for the matcha in summer when there are not so many customers ordering lunch, though my family is still there. I suspect this company chose their location well because of the success for other drink places too, including 2 Boba shops nearby and several coffee places too. This new company appears to be a small group of shops out of Denver, spreading across the state. It is beautifully decorated with all new furniture and posters of their offerings, which are very extensive. Many versions of non-matcha drinks are available too, soda and fruit concoctions, little eats and soft serve in matcha and Ichigo (strawberry) versions. It's all very pretty. I stopped in for a drink and a treat as I had seen some ads for their Taiyaki, little fish shaped mini waffles with 3 choices for a filling. I had seen red bean advertised and that being a long time favorite, I went in after some other errands on a Sunday afternoon. There is an order line from the door to a counter, with posters of all of their drink options. I needed a non-caffeine drink and since I like Yuzu lemon flavors I chose that one. It has popping bubbles in a fizzy, dairy free base. They have lots of milk teas too and boba drinks, all very colorful. In fact that colorful theme is everywhere, the furniture , the posters, the drinks and soft serve. They emphasize the mix of green for matcha and pink for Ichigo through the menu. The Taiyaki are made while you wait and it takes a few minutes. They come out piping hot. A staff member will call your name for the drink first and later for the rest of the order. There are enough tables inside to seat close to 20 people and many take their purchases outside. Their menu is more expansive in Denver as the online presence indicates. But more may be coming here. The staff was helpful and quick and kept the line moving. There were 3 or 4 staff behind the counter, taking orders, making drinks and food and calling out the ready items. I will be back again, even though I do not drink matcha because of its caffeine content, but the Taiyaki will be a treat for my husband and granddaughter who both love Nutella. There are other family members who may prefer the protein content of the savory selection of a blended cheese blend. I am glad to have more fresh choices on the Hill.

Part of the crust was much more burnt than the other so we were left scraping these areas off. And overall all the breads--even the parts without black-- had a burnt flavor.) The carrots are great. Nothing profound or different, but execution of simplicity was flawless. Highly recommend! It actually felt like a very satisfying comforting meal that balanced sweet savory and salty perfectly. We got the Summer pizza and we really liked it. Would have given this place more marks if the pizza crust was not unevenly cooked. I came especially for Playa Bowls as I had sampled the açaí option at a recent Yelp event in town. My friend wanted a more traditional lunch so she used the adjacent Chinese food from a long standing north Boulder favorite that relocated here last January I was so excited to see them that I will go back next week for my favorite dish they used to make, only on Tuesday. The Playa bowl was made quickly and efficiently by the staff. I had it customized to be less sweet by leaving off the honey on top. The whole bowl was packed with açaí with protein added, deep chilled but not as hard as ice cream. A lot of banana on top too and a tasty whole grain granola. I'm not usually a granola fan but put cold fresh açaí under it and it's a whole new dish. I had to bring half of it home and was told to keep fresh in my freezer for a second serving. I have walked by this food court on the Hill for decades but had not been inside to eat in many years. If that is you too, know that it is now nice and clean and light, no pets, no out of control hangers on, just a good collection of kitchens and students and random adult workers sharing space and not too loud either. There is a central refuse area now so no overflowing open barrels by the kitchens. If you are looking g for quick decent food on the Hill it's a good option again. Both Bento Ria and Flower Pepper have relocated here when their original spaces in out dated structures were torn down for redevelopment. There were others there too, none of which I knew about. It was just a little noisy at noon though seating was ample today, probably not on a game day so like everything on the Hill, check the football schedule before heading up. No parking close by, so walk from "somewhere."
