They were the biggest serving that I have ever seen- easily enough for two. I didn't come close to finishing them or making much of a dent in the bottomless fries. I'm glad that exhibited some restraint because we were able to share an ethereal apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Prices were quite fair. An excellent meal in a very charming restaurant.

It's certainly a charming little place, and on a slightly drizzly day it was a very pleasant place to be in from the cold and rain. The Mosselen Natuur (plain steamed mussels) were big, meaty, well-cleaned, and tasty, but if you're not a shellfish fan, the Stoofpotje van Varkenswangetjes (pork cheek stew) is a great choice. Extremely tender pork cheek with minimal excess fat, and a lot of it, with a delicious red wine sauce plus much better fries than we'd had earlier on the main square made my night.
