The Elk Mountain Trail provided a moderate hike with rewarding scenery. I saw Bison and longhorn cattle, fields of wildflowers, butterflies, and bees *just be aware and don't be dumb thinking you can touch the Bison or Cattle, they will attack you* Apparently there were prairie dogs too but I didn't see them :( For those planning an overnight stay, the Doris Campground offers a peaceful environment, though it's worth noting that there are no water hookups at individual sites We were surprised we were in Oklahoma it's an unbelievable landscape with unique rock formations.

The fishing is amazing even for an amateur like me. Scott, Park Manager, is a pleasure to deal with. Super friendly and supportive. We stayed down near the water in spot 29. The only minor frustration is the flies. But that was probably our own problem. They loved the outside of our RV. but were almost unnoticeable when out and about. We highly recommend this park. A very beautiful part of Oklahoma we don't get to see enough of. We will be back.

We enjoyed swimming in the lake, there's a wonderful sandy beach that's very clean. There's some decent hiking trails and apparently some good fishing, we saw a lot of people fishing near the dam. We loved how empty it was on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Only a few tents and campers around, it felt very private and secluded. We had the entire beach to ourselves. Unlike Lake Lawtonka, this park allows dogs or at least we didn't see any signs indicating otherwise! Our dogs thoroughly loved it! It's pretty secluded so pack your lunch and bring plenty of water to drink. There was a small general store near the boat ramp that sells burgers but not sure they're open all year.

We've seen many articles online talking about this seemingly eerie place and decided to visit…read moreyesterday afternoon. We thought it was a much bigger forest but it wasn't small either, it was big enough. We explored mostly to the right side of the forest but saw people walking back out from the left. We spotted a cow towards the left that's why we didn't head that way. The tall trees were lined up like we've seen in pictures but there was not much else to see. It was an interesting sight to see nonetheless. Makes you wonder why the trees were planted in such a fashion. It was a nice and cool walk around under the trees too! On the way back out, the cow decided to start moving slowly and eventually blocked our way out of the forest. The husband and I slowly moved in the opposite direction and made as little noise as possible telling each other not to move suddenly or talk too loudly. The cow kept moving and eventually cleared our path. Phew ..... LoL ... Well that was fun if it wasn't for the cow!

We live 2 miles from the lake and it makes it super convenient to go fishing or boating, kayaking,…read moreor even paddle board. There is a place called Nowhere that rents out pontoons. There are so many places to camp throughout all of the roads by the lake. The south side of the lake is more of the park area the north west I would say is more residential people. We absolutely love it here.

It had a concrete pad, electricity and water, a picnic table and fire ring. The space is very large with grass and a large tree. We enjoyed our stay and would go back. All of the Oklahoma state parks we stayed at were clean and well maintained.

I have been…read moreextremely disappointed with some other state park swim beaches so I was pleasantly surprised by Foss. All I can address is Sunset beach, as it is the only place in the park we visited. There are 5 cabanas on the beach that you can rent. However, if you don't want to pay to rent the cabana there are plenty of shade trees to set up under. So bring that hammock and relax! The beach is undead a sandy beach and it is safe to walk barefoot on as there is not any glass. Yay! We had a kayak and were able to use it right off the beach area. If you're in the city and need a place to go on the weekend you should check it out. Just remember, although a sand beach this is not Florida, this is Oklahoma. For Oklahoma this is a nice beach area

I have sent several messages to several different places but nobody seems to respond. I went and checked out several of their reviews and it's the same thing. Nobody seems to respond to messages. Was planning on a birthday trip there but seems like tht option is now off the table. It use to be a state park but has been purchased or leased to a private entity which seems to be the issue. Really no customer service at all from what I see. It's too bad as tht was a nice area to visit.

Grandson loved the wood playground. We enjoy talking pictures of unique things and he loves throwing rocks. Nice cloudy day to walk around. Amazed to see a drink place open in RedRock. Very well mowed and clean. Only saw a couple of things someone left behind. Nice restrooms and showers if needed. Several RV hookups and lots of picnic tables. They now charge $10.00 per car, so I hope it helps keeping it clean. Lots of vines, wish they could post sign for poison Ivy areas

Bring firewood! More on that later…read more PROS: The hiking was amazing with various terrain from flat fields of gorgeous wildflowers to difficult rocky climbs. Had to climb up in a few places and hoist my dog up some shelves. Beautiful views of the canyons and rivers. We heard coyotes several times each night. It's a dark skies park, so if you're into stargazing this is the place for you. CONS: Back to the firewood. The parks always say not to bring wood because it can spread insects to the area, but they did not have any firewood available for purchase. Had to leave and drive to Quannah, and the only wood they had was pinon which is not good for cooking. Hope to save you a trip! Restrooms were very dirty and full of bugs - I mean covered. Took one pretty gross shower. The worst state park restrooms I have seen. The second night we had a noisy group using a generator all afternoon and evening until 10 pm (in the tent camping area) and playing loud music. I don't get why people go to nature to drive the animals away with their noise. Wish the employees had circulated more and noticed. We left early, not just because of the restrooms and other campers. There was also not much to do since the lake is low and the swimming area is closed. There is no visitor center, shaded bird watching area or anything else to do during the hot part of the day.
