I told two staff members and nothing! The on-site restaurant was closed on our actual Anniversary so we are lucky we brought food! All in all I would not recommend this place to family or friends , we paid 200 dollars a night and it would have been nicer to stay in a hotel which had the amenities that were advertised! On Oct 30, '24 we stayed at the Motel 6 in Shamrock, TX. The owner checked us in and provided us with a very clean, quiet, well-appointed room at a very reasonable price. The owner even provided a recommendation to a local pizza place that later delivered a great thin-crust pizza to our room. We enjoyed a relaxing stay in Shamrock, mostly due to our motel experience. Two old dudes driving across the country with 2 cats in a loaded down mini-van pulling a small utility trailer is at best a trying experience. The Shamrock Motel 6 was a welcome stop in an otherwise stressful journey. Well done!

The red decor curtains were short and an entire row of curtains were missing. The room I checked into was 210 and is located directly in front of the building, above the arch. This is the area where hotel guests are checking in/out and driving by so they are literally see into the room. I informed the desk clerk, told her that I could not stay in a room with no curtains and she said there was nothing she could do. I asked what options were available and was advised that maintenance refused to come back to the hotel. She also advised that housekeeping refused to come and no manager was available. I asked if I could move to another room. I was told that no other rooms were available. I ended up calling the IHG Corporate office several times to resolve the issue. After several hours passed and increased frustration, they ended up moving me a couple of doors down to the same type of room I booked. It makes me wonder why they didn't just do that in the first place & told me there was nothing they could do, like I had to just deal with it. An extremely upsetting situation all around, especially after driving from another state for a special occasion. The local staff did not offer an apology or discount. Hotels are responsible for providing safety and security for the guest that pay money to stay there. It's basic. When you pay $761.33 for three nights, you expect the bare minimum. If I could give it a zero, I would. I strongly recommend NOT staying here.
