Suffice to say, I am satisfied with QH AYSO, and the experience and opportunities it provides to our youth. However, although they preach principal, and the importance of good character, there is unfortunately a number of instances where I have witnessed otherwise. In one example, a ref had said that because of a significant lead, they weren't calling some fouls to assist the losing side the opportunity to come back. I understand that refs are parents and are volunteers, and I respect them for making an effort, but when calls are made because a player(s) or teams is/are better or worse, bigger or smaller, or winning or losing, to me that is just bad officiating and a safety concern, and it's calling a game. That is not okay. Another instance was their 3 day tryouts for their AYSO tournament teams. I learned very quickly that a child needs not to try out, but rather have a talented reputation, and a good parent conversation with the tournament coaching staff, and they can make the team without stepping foot on the tryout field, where so many others had committed 2-3 hours for 3 days and were eliminated. With nepotism, why have tryouts? Where's the principal in this. Lastly, this exists in every organization, and I am not surprised to see it at QH. I do enjoy QH AYSO, all the coaches are well intended and have a positive disposition. I have yet to see a negative Nancy with QH, and because of that we will continue with them for the purposes of a positive experience and memories for my children. read more
