I've been a customer of this smog shop for a decade. And whoever the staff they had working Saturday March 1st should consider a different profession. The lack of BASIC customer service is astonishing. It's strange because I've never had this experience and it's disappointing to see. Great place to get your smog done. I came by on a friday and talked to the smog tech to ask about the smog steps/procedures. I was hesitant because my 2008 car would smoke from the exhaust after really long idles. I knew that it was the only thing that could cause my inspection to fail. I have an obd2 code reader and my emissions monitors were all ready. It's a great tool to invest in to let you know if your car is smog ready. You can get a good cheap one at walmart or amazon, ebay, etc. But anyways, the technician gave me some pointers about the visual smoke portion of the test. I went there the next morning on a saturday, not even really warming up my car yet, did the smog test (no smoke because the car was not idling for long), and passed!!! The whole process literally took like 10 minutes. It will probably take longer for older vehicles though - maybe by an extra 5-10 min. The price was on point too. Avoid this overpriced scam garage like the plague. I didn't want to go to a place right off Mooney, but I needed a smog certificate ASAP. I was never told that if I recently changed by battery or had not driven my car much that their wouldn't be enough "computer data" for my car to pass. Because of this, I was charged $40 for a failed smog test! Then charge me another $30 after I come back and drive 100 miles. What a scam, rip-off. I will definitely be in contact with city officials about this business. If I would have been told about how a new battery erased the computer data I would have never drove in. Had smog check done twice now over the years here. They are very quick / easy / price is as low or lower than any other place in town. It's a small business but the cool part is you can clearly see from the main street if they are already testing a car. If they are not you will be in and out in 15-20min flat. I don't mean to bash other reviewers but I'm not sure what some people's expectations are for a smog station. Yes it's very small so there won't be free food served in waiting room or entertainment for that matter. Also the person working both times I went was very polite.
