I walked in to just look at brands and options as I was just done with buying cheap and unfortunately disposable vacuums. I was greeted immediately and a very pleasant and knowledgeable fellow named Adam asked me what I was looking for. He assured me he could help, then he very patiently and efficiently showed me a very high quality and serviceable brand, explained and demonstrated all the features and models plus answered all my questions without any hesitation. Adam knows the product exceptionally well and when he had one very small doubt about a specific item, he admitted he needed check to confirm. Straight talk, no bluster or bs and humility. WOW. After 45 minutes we arrived at brand/model and price, he recommended an excellent "TLC package" that is well worth the low additional cost and was perfectly happy to write up a firm price for my consideration. As it happened I was able to consult with my CFO (wife) before leaving the parking lot so I walked right back inside the store and bought the machine he recommended. The customer service is eh, price is ew, and be prepared to leave your machine with them for months. All the hemming and hawing had me in the store for 45 minutes when I just wanted to drop of my vacuum for service. Was quoted a price and ended up paying double. After a miss ordered part I finally get my machine two months later. When settling the bill the clerk was chatting a friend and not paying attention to me or my questions but offering weak excuses about parts shipments. Not very happy all around. read more

This store was a wonderful discovery on the internet! I searched high and low for a "school" that offered classes in beginning sewing. Quality Sewing and Vacuum not only provides classes for beginners like myself, but also experienced sewing enthusiast. My interest is a beginning class in the basics. I signed up for "Learn to use your sewing machine #1". Wow! What a confidence builder! With this one class I learned all the basics (i.e.,plug the machine, thread and wind a bobbin, sew a blind stitch, clean and maintain, etc...). Our instructor Ruth was so patient and sensitive to needs of her students. She had seven students in this class which made it easy for her to give everyone personal assistance when necessary. I bought a Riccar upright vacuum today from Quality Sewing & Vacuum and not only did I get a great price but the customer service was outstanding. Ken dropped what he was doing, which was attending the Kitsap Home show at the Kitsap Pavilion, to come back to the store just to attend to me because he was much more knowledgeable than the other sales people, who were new. I had many questions since I was buying an expensive vacuum cleaner and Ken was able to explain everything and help me to make the right decision. On top of that he gave me a hundred dollars off of an already discounted model plus two free boxes of vacuum cleaner bags because I agreed to buy the pristine floor model since they were temporarily out of stock. After I posted my review of Quality, I was contacted by their district manager and we had a great conversation! She was very interested in fixing the issues I had experienced while shopping there. I also spoke to the manager and he was also very apologetic for what had happened. I really appreciate Quality Sewing trying to fix the problem instead of throwing coupons in my face like some other business. This is a local business/chain that does really care for their customers. I am glad I posted my review so I could get a chance to speak to the people in charge. My granddaughter and I went to Silverdale for a sewing class. The class was very nice. The skirt she made is really cute.

My mother took her sewing machine in to have them fix it. When she went back to pick it up she was happy to see the sample swatch that showed every stitch worked, especially the button hole, as that was the main reason she wanted it repaired. The man told her She needed to replace it because it was older, and kept trying to show her different machines. She's eighty, doesn't really want to buy another one. She was happy enough about it, paid and left. Two days later she tried to make a button hole, couldn't get it to work. So she called and told the man what was happening and said she was going to bring it back. He told her not to. He said "I told you I could make a button hole with it, not that you could". She called better business bureau, but gave it up because it frustrated her so. Left a very bad taste in her mouth. Doesn't seem too honest to me. read more

I have bought a machine from here before, but it was at an expo and I dealt with the owner directly. Have come in a few times since then. Today, I came in and was looking for a standalone coverstitch machine. The sales lady showed me a serger. When I told her I didn't think that one was a coverstitch, she sewed a fabric sample to show me. It was 100% a serger. I already have a serger. Then when I was wanting to look around myself, she tried to get my information to call me and update me if the price dropped or something on a machine that was not even what I was asking for. I wish I could say this was the first time this situation happened. I feel like every time I've come in here that the sales people and even the manager do not know nearly enough about the machines they sell. You will get more info researching for yourself online. The hard plastic tube underneath broke on my Dyson DC14. While checking for the part I found that Quality Sewing and Vacuum repaired the Dyson. In addition I found out that one of their shops was a 'authorized' Dyson repair shop. On 8/4/14 I took the Dyson in for the simple repair to the Silverdale store. The sales lady said that they would order the part from their Burien store and it would be in by Wednesday, in two days. I spoke to the repairman on Friday and the part from the other store was still not in. Finally the part appeared on the following Monday, the 11th. The repairman that I spoke to said that they were going to get the Dyson 'on the table' and get it repaired. I went into the store in the 12th to get the Dyson and it was not fixed. The man, behind the counter went to the back and said that they fix it the following day, the 13th. I told him that I would come in to retrieve it on the 13th at 1100 AM. He said that he would call me when it was finished. I left the store for home. While driving home, I got a call from Quality Vacuum Repair that the part that came in was the 'WRONG PART'. I turned around, got my Dyson and went home. I went online, ordered the correct part from Dyson in Chicago and it will be here in three days. It will take me one minute to take the old part off and put the new part on. You want it done correctly and in a timely manner, then do it yourself read more

My wife had a problem with her Brother sewing machine. It was making loud grinding sounds and breaking needles. So I recommended we take it here for repair. Immediately upon walking into the store, the front desk lady took us aside and had my wife plug in her machine. After 10 to 15 minutes of a little tinkering and replacement of some minor parts- her machine sounded brand new. She also taught my wife a few features that she wasn't familiar with before. I went in to look for fabric - because from the outside it looked like they may actually carry some. The man who was working at the time was so rude - and arrogant! Everytime I tried to tell him something - he has one-up on me! I was telling him about a quilt I was doing (hand sewn) and he said - well, my wife did one like that on her first try, etc., etc., etc. He even questioned me on how I was doing mine - trying to tell me I was doing it wrong, etc.! I couldn't believe it! I walked out and said to myself that I would never go back there again!! I was even considering having someone there "quilt" my finished quilt! That won't happen! Very sad - because in these times - people really need to be better to their customers - or prospecitve customers!! read more

Though originally satisfied with my vacuum repair, upon changing my filter for the first time after getting it back, I discovered that the permanent filter was missing. Called the store where I was told they disposed of the filter (paper and charcoal) and would not have thrown out the other one. Would not even consider it may have been their error. Considering the fact that it was there when I dropped it off I guess it magically disappeared. Another live and learn lesson: itemize EVERYTHING. Will not be going back, even though I joined their program. Customer service is very important to me and I am feeling very angry over this. read more
