I have an old Jeep Grand Cherokee whose brake lights have been malfunctioning for years. I've paid multiple garages to address and fix them. Most of the time, a bulb would be switched out for $30-$100 and I'd be sent on my way, only for the issue to quickly reoccur. This place dug deeper and seems to have actually fixed the problem. On Thursday, November 14, at 6:56 a.m. I hit a deer on Albany Post and the State Troopers called Quality Towing to tow the vehicle. In speaking with my insurance company, it was determined the car should be towed to Superior Auto in Montgomery. The insurance company called Superior Auto and spoke with them at that time (7:15 a.m.) We informed the driver for Quality Towing, in front of the State Trooper, that we wanted the car towed to Superior Auto in Montgomery. The driver, an elderly gentleman, ignored us and chatted with the Trooper while a young man cleaned the road. Eventually, the Trooper told us to leave and he would stay until Quality was done. At no time was I asked for further information, and I assumed - not being an expert at accidents, this is only my second - that the information I had already provided which included all of my insurance information, would be sufficient, otherwise the driver would have spoken up when the Trooper told us to leave. On Monday, November 18, I received a call from my insurance company informing me that the car was not at Superior Auto. I called Quality Towing at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 18 to ask where my car was. They informed me - for the first time - that my car was in their lot. Between Thursday, November 14 and Monday, November 18, I was never notified that they kept possession of my vehicle. In the call at 1 pm on Monday, November 18, I asked why the car was not taken to Superior Auto on Thursday, November 14 as had been requested at the scene of the accident, and I was informed it was because "No one was [at Superior Auto] to sign for the car" (which was known by us to be untrue as the insurance company had spoken to folks at Superior via phone at approximately 7:15 a.m.) The representative from Quality then tried to "hard sell" me on allowing Quality to repair my car, forcing me to repeat several times that I wanted my car repaired by Superior Auto as I had originally requested at the scene of the accident. Quality Auto charged $1,500 prior to releasing my car to another tow company on Friday, November 22, who had to come and tow the car from the Quality lot in Montgomery to Superior Auto in Montgomery - $400 was for the original tow, and the rest - $1,100 in "lot fees," "administrative fees," and "gate fees." Subsequently, when I put a review on Facebook, the manager, Bob Reynolds, responded in a hostile manner: it was my fault that the driver never asked me for information or spoke up when the Trooper told us to leave in front of him; it was my fault they therefore had to keep my car - although the reason vacillated: first I was told there was no one at Superior to "sign for it"; then it shifted to being because Quality has a policy they don't "tow vehicles to shops without prior arrangement for payment"; then it was Superior's fault because "it is their instructions to us not to bring a car to them unless they call us directly" (which, per Superior is not only untrue, but they have a drop box in order to leave cars even after hours); and finally that it was Superior's fault because it was incumbent on them to call Quality and ASK for the car to be towed there, I assume in the 15 minute window in which the car was actively being towed. Also, he claimed they were not trying to "hard sell" me on having them repair the car but just "explain that it is my right" to have them fix my car. Stuck fuel pump had me and my '56 Ford pickup stranded at a service center on I87. Quality Service Center towed me to their shop about 4:30 in the afternoon. Bob Reynolds the manager and their mechanics located a new fuel pump and stayed after their usual closing time to install and test the new pump. Got me back on the road and able to finish my trip with no further issues. Thanks guys (and the ladies in the front) for going that extra mile and staying late. read more

Since I've moved up here from NYC I haven't been able to find a consistently reliable Auto shop to take my cars to... Again, this shop like all the others starts out ok and after some time they all find a way to disappoint. In this instance I take my car there and tell I'd like them to check a specific thing and to also check another symptom the car was having. After two days of having my car I'm told they drove it and the car wasn't experiencing the symptoms I brought it in for... here I am the very next morning leaving for work and the car IS experiencing exactly what I brought it into them to fix. Had to drive back home and switch cars and now I am late for work. I will never use them again. read more

Moved into the area, and found a Quality service center at Quality Service. LOL,,, this place is just great. BOB and his dedicated staff of mechanics, go way beyond just Service . They treat you like family. They are detailed orientated and treat your vehicle as if it was their own. Quality service center prices are the best in the area. very poor customer service. Treat you like you are a criminal. I broke down, my husband tried to pay the bill over the phone from 400 miles away with credit card they would NOT accept the payment over the phone. Stuck in NY for 2 days!! read more
