I had one guy scheduled to come out, but after speaking with Carlos I cancelled my other appointment and brought him in instead. Him and another team member were ready to meet me as early as 7, but I had to do 9 instead. Throughout the inspection and testing he explained everything to me thoroughly - the types of mold he was seeing, what causes them, what happens if it isn't treated, how it affects he air quality in the rest of the house, etc. We got results back that night and there was more work to be done than expected, but the price was reasonable and I trusted his judgment. He assured me I had picked out a good house and this should not hold me back from getting it. I agreed. Once the seller agreed to use Carlos he was able to get into the home the next week despite having a very busy schedule. Carlos was a rock star. He regularly texted photos of the progress and informs me of the daily schedule. He communicates quickly - always replying to a text or picking up the phone call for a detailed discussion. Remediation was successful after 4 days. I'm so glad I had the SafePlace team working on this house. Carlos was professional, courteous, friendly, informative, and priced incredibly well. I'm so excited to move into my new, mold free, home!

Not only have I caught the workers stealing items from her, on more than one occasion, while they were supposed to be working to rebuild her home. I'm not certain whether the workers that have been doing the work are actually employed by Meridian or if they were contracted by Meridian to do the work, but these guys, and girls, need to be fired and locked up in our county jail for constantly stealing items that do not belong to them! I could say MANY MORE terrible things about these workers, but there just isn't enough characters allowed for me to do so. Just be warned, if you hire this company to do a job for you, it will end up taking a lot longer than they tell you it will when you first talk to them. Mom's home burned over 6 months ago and they have just started the rebuild a couple of weeks ago! Not only do they go weeks at a time not doing any work at all, the workers will be stealing whatever they can while they are supposedly working! I WELCOME any feedback from the company, but they have refused to even bothering to reply to email messages I have sent to them! I honestly have no clue how they stay in business because if they are doing this to my mom, surely others have the same type problems.

The one this company installed in 2023 quit working in 2024 after the one year warranty expired and I had to pay $1,000 to have another one installed. March 2025 the dehumidifier quit again. I called and they sent a technician out here and he said the company no longer uses those dehumidifiers. He inferred that they are of substandard quality and if I purchased another it would be quite expensive. He checked the dehumidifier and said my electrical outlet had switched it off. So, I paid an electrician to replace the outlet with one that doesn't automatically switch off. The dehumidifier continued to quit working. So, I asked an HVAC company to come and check it out. He said the dehumidifier is fills with water and cuts off because it isn't draining properly. He emptied it out and said it hadn't been correctly installed. He said it needed a condensation pump and the tubing needed to be replaced. I tried to reach someone at Crawlspaces and More and for weeks never received a return call. I finally received an email from Jim and he said he would come out and make sure the dehumidifier was on and charge me $200. I told them to forget it. I called a reputable company and they installed a very nice dehumidifier and replaced the door to my crawlspace. Ours was wood and rotted because it was decades old. They said Crawlspaces and More should have replaced it to thoroughly encapsulate the crawlspace. The new company installed a custom fit door that is air tight and sealed. I would not recommend Crawlspaces and More.

Asbestos abatement in the basement was not on my list of preferred activities to have to schedule,…read morebut the problem being urgent and unavoidable, I must say that Terri Cowart of Abatement Contractors Unlimited and her ACU employees came through in a way that made the whole project such a positive experience. At our assessment meeting she alerted me to the breadth of the problem that needed attention, made helpful suggestions for things they could do that would not add to the estimate she offered, and was so mindful of giving the best quality of work for a very reasonable price. Immediately I felt at ease with her and sensed she could handle any issues that would arise. Everything in the basement that I didn't want to keep was removed, remaining things were wiped and treated, and returned neatly to the basement, which was truly transformed. Terri and her crew were thorough, great to work with, (special thanks to Eleazar, crew chief) and there was outstanding communication throughout the process. This is dirty, messy work, but the crew was upbeat, alert and so helpful when I found something set to be hauled away that I decided I wanted to keep. I could not have hoped for a better outcome, and if needed I would call them again in a heartbeat. Highest possible recommendation.

I only used A1A Environmental for asbestos testing, so I can't speak to their remediation services…read more I can't post photos on Yelp, but if I could, the photos would be of A1A's asbestos report that they sent me, as well as photos of a report I got from another company to get a second opinion. A1A said that I had asbestos in all of the drywall and tile in my home (in addition to more common asbestos locations like my house's vinyl flooring and HVAC tape). I got a second opinion from another company/lab, and they said there was no asbestos in the drywall or the tile, and their prices were a fraction of the price as a result. Testing also took 4x longer than A1A estimated, they didn't bring brooms or a vacuum to clean up their mess, and they left a ladder. The employee who came for the testing was very polite, but I can't look past the fact that they were trying to charge me to essentially gut my entire house claiming it was full of asbestos, when in fact it was not (per the second opinion from another company). Also I found a tile in the bathroom that they tested - the tile said it was dated from 1993. They said it was asbestos positive, but asbestos was no longer used in building materials in 1993. So I'm inclined to believe the second opinion I received over the opinion of A1A environmental.

He asked if I could give him a few day's to send the email of the typed report or Icould pay a few to have the report next day. When I didn't receive the emailed report I called Mr. Scott to remind him, and that's when he informed me that his computer had crashed but he'll be sure to send as soon as he work things out with the computer. One week later on today, I called Mr. Scott asking for the report, he became very combative with me. When I responded to his disrespect he hung up the phone. He was being unreasonable, unprofessional, and not holding himself accountable. It wasn't till later that I found out that he had left his baseball cap in his car the displayed the Confederate flag, which pretty much summed it up as to how he was speaking to me.
