I'm giving this place 2 stars just because it's the only hotel in town, otherwise it would be 1 star. We were greeted by staff in a rude manner because we booked from an online site. I tried to change rooms and would pay the difference as an "up sale" and was told they don't do that and I would have to cancel my reservation and book directly through them. I know this to be false as I have done this at plenty of other hotels in the past. Now to the room. I took photographs of how gross the room was. There were stains on lamp shades and the window shade. I couldn't tell exactly what it was but looked like blood or lipstick. If you have a chance to stay further away and drive in I'd do that. It's not worth staying in town at this old run down hotel and it's sad it's the only hotel in town. read more

This hotel met our needs perfectly. We brought a tired family of 4 just passing through the area, needing a stop to get a good nights rest. McKay was very welcoming at the front desk and had a great sense of humor. Our room was clean and comfortable, and our kids enjoyed expelling some of their pent of energy in the indoor pool. The continental breakfast was well stocked and we were able to fill our bellies in the morning before hitting the road again. read more

When you're the only lodging in town, every yelp counts. The front desk was marvelous as we were in Payson from California to attend a funeral. I had booked an extra night in case the funeral was late afternoon. However it turn out the funeral took place in the morning and a snow storm was the only thing happening in the afternoon. I requested a cancelation of that nights stay and it was granted without any issues.....Thank you, we missed the storm by a couple of hours on our drive home. Our room was decent as was the breakfast, which was above the average. The exterior leaves something to be desired but the interior is clean and neat. Another tip of the hat to staff and management for their courtesy. read more

This hotel staff is rude and don't have good customer service skills. We specifically choose this hotel because of the indoor pool. After arriving at the hotel my family went swimming I went to the front desk to grab some towels for them. The lady behind the desk watching a movie on her laptop tells me they don't have any towels. I am absolutely stunned. I ask "how they don't have any towels?" She replies "I don't know we just don't. We don't even have any for our housekeeping staff to put in the rooms. " This baffled me. With all of the Covid restrictions I know the hotel isn't anywhere near capacity. WHERE ARE ALL THE TOWELS?? I will not go to any quality Inn again! EVER! read more

The beds were nice, the shower was nice, the breakfast options were nice, pool area was nice, staff were nice.... the only thing I didn't like was the cable options: they were very limited. We stayed at family places in cities with 1000 people that had better cable/satellite. But if I was in the area and needed a place to go, I would stay here again. read more

Reserved a room here for the weekend. Realized this was Payson, UT and not Payson, AZ. Immediately called the hotel to cancel. Clerk stated they had a no refund policy regardless that I just made the reservation and immediately called. Filed a dispute with credit card and the hotel is attempting to reaffirm that services were received when we were not in this state during these dates. Poor & immoral business practice IMHO. We decided to drive from Prescott, Arizona to Utah for Thanksgiving with the family. After reading favorable reviews, comparing prices and checking availability, I reserved four nights at the Payson, Utah Quality Inn. One of the first things after entering the room was to use the toilet. Nope, wouldn't flush. I have the same float unit in my toilet at home so was familiar with the function. I disassembled the water shutoff mechanism and added some lubricant to the affected piece for a temporary fix. This got us through our stay but needs replacement. Still needed to hold the handle down through the entire flush. Second was the sink faucet. To save a few bucks, a water restrictor was added to the spout. These have pin size holes which clog due to small particles or calcium deposits. Water barely dribbled out making the faucet useless. I disassembled and cleaned this unit several times but to no avail. The old plumbing and countless particles in the water makes the use of a restrictor out of the question at this dated motel (My relatives say it was built in the 80's). In the interest of customer satisfaction, these should be removed and a water filtering system installed. Third was the predictable no-flow bathtub drain on these older units. Start the water, adjust the temperature and switch to the shower head. By this time, you're standing in three inches of dirty water because the drain does not work satisfactorily. Does all this sound familiar? There is no excuse for this as the cleaning personnel are the source of information. They clean the sink, bathtub and toilet and know very well when there is a deficiency. If something needs fixing, it needs to be fixed BEFORE the room is reserved the next time. Fourth was the lack of any hot breakfast items. A microwave package of oatmeal is a poor excuse for a hot breakfast. Even the less expensive motels have a hot breakfast. We ate our breakfast at another location. Lastly was the email from Choice Hotels asking about our stay. They say my opinion is important. These emails are "feel-good" communications to indicate they actually care while in fact there is no intention in fixing a problem. I have written similar comments in the past to no avail. So, NO, I will not recommend these older motels until properly upgraded with something other than a cosmetic makeover. Choice Hotels should be ashamed to have their name associated with sub-standard accommodations. In the interest of fairness I will say the personnel were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. There were lots of blankets on the beds. The pillows were perfect and plentiful. Room and bathroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was even a courtesy makeup remover towelette. Which was a a lifesaver because i had forgot my remover. The check in employee was nice and pleasant. Lots of options for breakfast and well stocked. My only complaint was the biscuits were dry and the gravy was kinda cold. But there were plenty of other options. So far this has been one of the most pleasant hotel stays I've had in awhile. read more

I would stay here again. Our family stopped here for a quick night of sleep on the way to Yellowstone. Front desk was courteous and quick. Price was right. Building is older and room has some wear (carpet dirty) - but good beds with clean sheets, clean towels, and a clean bathroom. 42" flat panel Phillips HDTV. Great price. Has a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Housekeeping was great. Staff was friendly. Free breakfast buffet with a lot of variety. On top of this there is a nice indoor pool and a workout room. Right by the freeway, for easy access, but heard no noise from it. read more

The staff is rude and unaccommodating. They stated it was because we booked through Hotels.com so we stayed an extra night and booked directly and they up charged us more than we signed on the agreement. No hot breakfast, dirty all around the hotel, missing electrical outlets and smelled like cigarette smoke the whole time. We called ahead and everything they told us was not true. They even made a comment deal with it we are the only hotel in Payson. We travel a lot. If you can avoid it don't stay there. read more

Sorrry I have to give it one star it doesn't deserve one we stayed here July 20 th weekend our family was camping in the mountains above because of health issues some of us couldn't we'll we got to the hotel late we had traveled all day to the mountain then hung out in camp we got drenched in a rainstorm yea but we had fun but we were exhausted checked in great get in the room seems ok I'm a weirdo I do bedcheck my dad had steaked claim on the other bed and was sound asleep I'd been out walking my dog so I pull the sheets up next to the night stand and there's this big stain gross it's the color of blood right where you lay your head and down I was oh no my parents are dressed for bed and my dad's asleep I had to walk in between the wall and bed sleep next to this god awful stain I couldn't sleep much I was so grossed out about 4 am I went to smoke I had to walk thru the lobby I talked to the desk clerk she just acted like so duh like I care your problem I knew then they didn't care so just go on with myself don't stay here oh yea and you hear the others in there room my dog got sprayed with the water bottle all night to be quiet because she heard the people above us partying the people next to us talking it us horrible read more

This is your standard motel. Very clean and comfortable. What made them 5 star is we needed a first floor room. At first we were told that there were none avaliable. No elevator.The desk clerk saw my husband was having difficulty walking and knew he would not make it up the steps. She graciously moved reservations around to help us. This was greatly appreciated. She placed us on the first floor next to an exit for easy access. A quiet comfortable night. Thank You. read more

I travel a lot and have stayed in tons of hotels, and this is by far one of the worst ones I've been in. The Internet and breakfast is below par, not to mention that we had 3 rooms and 2 out of 3 had electrical shortages in the tvs. Oh and there was a nasty smell in my room, like a dead animal. We have stayed at this hotel twice. It is the table of two cities. The first time was wonderful. Warm and friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable. They went out of their way to make our stay very nice. This weekend we stayed again and it was just ther opposite. At check in, the desk clerk was rude and acted as if our presence there was interrupting her day. The room was supposed to have a queen bed. Must have been a Road Island bed, it was very small. The maid service refused to make up our room because we hadn't left by one. However they were cleaning rooms on each side of us. I don't know which is normal but I won't stay there again. Dirty rooms, rude staff, worst hotel experience ever. And for some reason there were a lot of police cars in the parking lot and they were asking women if they were prostitutes. I wish I was making that up. Apparently it's a good place to get an afternoon delight and Payson is prostitute heavy. I'd never been to Payson before but I didn't think a small town would have this problem. I left as soon as I could in the morning to avoid any officers and/or prostitutes. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days. For the first few nights, we paid $89. The front desk told us that if we went online to Travelocity, we were able to get the room for $66 a night. We could only do a couple of nights through Travelocity, but the front desk allowed us to continue with the $66 rate for the remainder of our stay. We had our animals with us and didn't want the maids in the room, so we were able to get all of our room supplies from the maids (who are very nice I might add). Teresa and Layla are amazing and helped us out whenever we needed anything. Although we did have a problem with the tv channels the first couple of nights (they have direct tv and the channels kept recycling themselves to locate a signal) we still give a five star rating. They also have an indoor pool available with a huge spa, which we unfortunately did not use :(. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone passing through or wanting an extended stay! read more

Worst hotel ever!!!! The toilet was broken, so every 3 minutes the shower would go from normal temperature to cold to scalding. The drain didn't work so after a 20 minute shower I was standing in 3 inches of water. We turned the heater on but had to shut it off after 3 minutes since it made the whole room smell like urine. Sick!!!! We paid for 2 nights but left after one because it was so gross, and they only gave us a partial refund...so we ended up spending $160 for one night in a trashy hotel off of the freeway where there was construction. Such a waste, do NOT stay here. read more

Worst staff ever! They did nothing about the bed bugs in my friends room. Outdated room, terrible smell, stained floor, it was just awful. There was this particular staff lady, I believe her name was Sarah, (I think) and she was the worst. And also, they won't let you just pay to go swim in their pool for a couple hours like a normal hotel. read more

We arrived late at night for check in. The night audit clerk, Theresa was clearly either intoxicated or high as a kite. Her eyes were blazed red and glossed over as could be. It took her 17 to 18 minutes to check my wife in. She had trouble with comprehension, dexterity and remembering where anything was. She had no name tag and no shoes! She made it clear we could stay somewhere else. - Whoa? Really? The room was okay or fair for a quality inn, not good or great. The problem came in the next morning when I went to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager. I wanted somebody to know what is going on. Theresa is still on shift and was now bright eyed and refused to acknowledge any level of management higher than her. She said she was the manager and general manager. She gave me the name of Dallen or Susan but I could only email them as they don't take calls. I don't know if it is a staffing problem or a employee gone bad, but she was an absolute worst possible person too deal with, much less to pay money to be treated poorly. Beware, if you do have a problem with the room or service, you're stuck, and you get disrespected. It's been years since we've had something like this happen. There are a lot of good rated hotels just a few miles north. read more
