We had the room with the King Bed, which was comfortable and decorated with a mix of antique and vintage style. We loved the window seat, the great fridge to put our fruit in and the fun little library to select books and movies from. We went on a wonderful tour of some of Spring City's old homes. Such a treat! We relaxed in their hot tub in the back yard and even enjoyed the cows, house cat, chickens, horses, and dogs on the farm. :) The breakfast was fabulous with Sally making just what we liked (fruit, steel cut oats with all the trimmings, eggs and bacon). Everything was perfect!!

If you're like me, you'll hurry and Google it while your spouse continues to drive, but then exclaim "we HAVE to stay there some time! It's a HOTEL!" This is exactly what happened to me. These train cars may look like typical train cars from the outside, but once you get in, you'll see that they've been transformed into modern, comfortable tiny houses-with small kitchens, bathroom, living room space and a bedroom. They are adorable! Just outside each unit is a patio where you can watch the sun rise over the adjacent park while sipping a cup of coffee. Sound dreamy? It is. I can't say enough good about our stay-everything was wonderful. I'm excited to come back and stay again when the weather is warmer and I can sit outside and enjoy more of nature. Or maybe during a rodeo where we can walk a few feet to all the action.

I had an appointment to go see my son, my mom did not have her license with her so they wouldn't let her in. It was 3:04 and I had to take my mom back to Country Paradise motel. The man wanted to charge me another night while I was gone for an hour and 15 minutes. My mom said she would just wait under the tree while I went to visit my son. I knew she'd be ok for such a short time. When I got back the man was talking to my mom when I got out to put her in my truck. The owner freaked out on me, pushed me while I was trying to explain what was going on. He knew exactly where I was. I pushed him back. The man is twice my size. He then put me in a chokehold and jerked me to the other side of my truck so my mom couldn't see what he was doing to me. The whole time I was trying to get away from him but he had his arms wrapped so tightly around me I couldn't move. He threw me to the ground on the really sharp, jagged rocks. I'm still trying to get away from him which upset him all the more. He threw me down on the rocks. I'm laying completely on my side and I tried to kick him with my left leg which I couldn't raise very far. OMGOSH, you would have thought I tried killed him. He came at me with such a vengeance and slugged me in the head 3 times. I felt so hopeless. still wanting to get in my truck and get my phone. He keeps yelling at me "You're going to jail". The officer finally got there and hurried over to me and helped me up. The jerk finally took his clutches off of me but the officer saw him holding me down. I was bawling. The owner was yelling and freaking out on the officer because he came to help me and heard me first. He was telling the officer he was going to sue him, calling him names etc.. The officer had me follow him to the station to fill out a report. A couple minutes later here comes the owner banging on the door demanding to talk to the Supervisor. The officer had to call in 2 county officers to help. They handcuffed him and put him in their vehicle. I went to the ER 2 days later because my whole body ached, bruises everywhere and my brain wasn't working. It hurt to try and think. I was informed I had a brain concussion. I'm 68 years old and this scumbag was jerking me around like I was a ragdoll. His wife kept tell him to stop which fell on deaf ears. P. S. The moral to my story is, if you're going through Gunnison and don't want to get beat up, stay somewhere else.

This is a beautiful, tiny campground nestled in the pine trees. There are 8 campsites, including…read moreone group site, and sites 4-6 were the prettiest and most private, in my opinion. There are 2 bathrooms, both of which were very clean, but one was out of toilet paper. I have read this in several reviews, so make sure to bring your own just in case. The campground is off a gravel road about 5 miles up the canyon. The road is used mainly for ATVs and there are many blind corners, so be careful when driving so you don't hurt anyone! I wouldn't recommend driving up the road at night or with a giant trailer, and I was a bit worried about my vintage trailer rattling apart on the drive during the day. But it was fine, luckily. There was a small lake/pond nearby that seems to be popular for fishing and canoeing. It also probably breeds mosquitos, as my legs have never been so eaten up and swollen from bites before! I even had 2 pairs of pants on and bug spray soaking my skin and pants. I got bitten between the fingers a few times too, which was a first for me. When I visited in July, the weather was only maybe 5 degrees cooler at the campground than in the valley, so bring a fan if you like cool air while you sleep. Site 5 is beautiful, although there was sometimes a whiff of bathroom stink as it is immediately across from it. It didn't bother me, though. Small drawbacks aside, this was a beautiful campground, there was only 1 other site in use while we were there, and we ooohed and ahhhed over the Milky Way at night. Doesn't get much better than that!
