As we are older people we did not use the playground, but I did see several little tykes playing like they were having fun. The pool was closed because it was evidently to cold in the mornings still. Now come the really bad part. The restrooms and showers were a nightmare! They were terribly dirty and one of the 3 toilets was plugged up the first night. The second morning all 3 were plugged and the urinal too. Plus the odor was horrendous! It smelled so bad and the showers were so bad we didn't get a shower that night!! The park really is a good place to stay, but until they do something with the restrooms and showers, I think I go elsewhere. Sad, very sad!

This property was recently taken over by KOA, but it doesn't quite live up to the standards of…read moreother KOAs that I've visited. This one is very run down with only a hint of staff anywhere. I booked online, received an email confirmation and then an email on the day of the reservation with instructions to check in. I followed the instructions, but it still told me to go to the office. When I arrived, there was no one in sight. After several minutes, someone did show up and gave us a map and vague directions-saying that the site numbers were backwards, and circled our spot on the map. We found it, but the sites were not backwards, they were numbered totally different than the map (the map showed T1, T2, T3, etc. and the tent sites were labeled A, B, C, etc.) The sites were all overgrown with weeds and there was one picnic table to share between them all. We walked the property a bit and found that everything is in disrepair, run down and in need of maintenance. I expect natural vegetation, of course, but the weeds with prickly stickers were everywhere, and impossible to avoid. The bathrooms are a pretty long haul from the tent sites, requiring campers to walk a good distance. Only one of the four stalls in the women's restroom lock and there were no paper towels in the container. I didn't attempt to use the shower after seeing how dirty they were. We stopped by the store around 5:30 to buy firewood and it was closed. That seems pretty early to close up on a weekend. We paid about $30 for a night but even that might have been too much. Hopefully the new management makes some much needed changes.

The camp layout is interesting; it's set up as a lot of back-ins, which is all you'll see if you try to book online. I ended up calling instead since we were pretty close and since they weren't full, Thelma set us up as a pull-through spanning 2 sites. The only drawback and reason for 4 stars is the entire park gently slopes. You enter driving down hill and the hill just kind of keeps going through to the back of the park. We had a really hard time getting our travel trailer level in the gravel and eventually gave up and just settled with being a bit off kilter for the night. As far as the facilities, on the plus side they are definitely new and pretty clean. As an update to some of the previous reviews: the fitness center is set up and the game room is now open, with a pool table and TV. They may get shuffleboard soon. The club house is large with a full kitchen available to all guests. There is a laundry room with 3 sets of machines. One set was out of order but we used the other two and they worked great; decent size and everything dried without needing extra time. Note that the laundry is coin operated, quarters only, but there is no machine to convert bills to change; I was able to buy $5 worth of quarters from Thelma though. The showers are decent, but lacking shelving or benches or anywhere convenient to place your towel, clothes, etc. There's only one hook attached to the back of the door by an adhesive strip, which I didn't trust to hold my fold-out toiletry bag, and was too far away from the shower to put my towel, so I got creative with using the toilet seat and the accessibility handle bars. Overall, it's a new, clean, welcoming park, but there are definitely opportunities for improvement.

While I will admit, there are prettier lakes to visit here in Utah, this is one of those that get the visit because of its proximity to Utah County. I can't speak to the pay-to-enter side of Yuba Lake, as every time I've gone, my party and I have just offroaded on the Old Dam side of the lake and parked near the lakeside and had our own little slice of nature. I can only recommend this side IF you have an offroad capable vehicle. I must stress, DO NOT ATTEMPT the offroad option if you're not comfortable or don't have recovery equipment. We offroaded to the south west section of Yuba and enjoyed the day paddleboarding and swimming around. It is a great place to enjoy the water and get out of the heat for a bit. I will say though: I have noticed over the years that the water levels have gone down drastically. This shouldn't really affect your choice in going or not. If anything go for it! The experience alone will be worth it before it dries up. I've really enjoyed just going and hanging out and enjoying the weather. If you go, be prepared for the sun, bring sunscreen, but also be ready for hot weather ( if it's summer!).

I don't know of any RV'er who carries a 150' hose.
