    Rat poop

There was a fucking rat in our room. The rest was fine but there is a hole in the wall where it got in.

    Outdated

This place is horrible. We checked in on Friday night. Got to the room. Out dated number one. Then there was a layer of dirt on the edges of the carpet, a divot covered by carpet, then the bathroom. Rust in the tub, mold and grime in the corners. We checked out that night. We tried to let their corporate offices know about this, and we could never get to anyone. The manager who dealt with us stated we were liars. I would suggest NOT booking with Quality Inn or any Choice Hotels. They don't back their product. If I could give it zero stars I would

Nice affordable place to stay. They are surrounded by beautiful canyons. The check in staff was very nice. They have pet friendly rooms. The bed was comfortable but I can sleep on pretty much anything. The breakfast is the typical chain fare, with make your own waffles, scrambled eggs(watery), toast, bagels, cereal and fruit. I didn't use the pool. The only down side was the tub, which should be replaced. There were 6 patch jobs on it. On the plus side of the bathroom was what looked like be floors and paint. I would definitely stay here again.

Made reservations through hotels. Then upon enter the side door to go our room, we notice the whole foundation was cracked and it seemed the whole building is shifting. Door could barely open as it rubbed on cement I would have cancelled, but nowhere else to go and wouldn't get money back. Once in the room, the bathtub was gross and the floor looked new, but it wasn't even glued down. The whole floor in the room seemed uneven and very unstable. Didn't sleep well. Could have been this side of the building, but it made us very disappointed. I would forgo the chance. Didn't think to take pics to share. Whole side of building had cracks and windows are uneven due to shifting. Is there no building inspector in this area ?

I stayed here several weeks ago when visiting local National Parks in the area. Hotels.com offered a great rate and I was thoroughly pleased with the accommodations. A pretty desk and main entrance/hallway with a welcoming fireplace is always a great start in my book. Off to the left of the main hallway, is a cozy sitting room to read or relax without being shut off in one's room. Their complimentary breakfast is offered from 6:30am to 9:30am. With juice, coffee, muffins, eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, milk, cereal and fresh fruit. There are a few tv's in the eating area to entertain or catch up on the local news. My room was cozy and clean, which is always appreciated. The bedding here was very superior, with high count thread sheets, and luxurious fluffly but firm pillows. However, one should really turn down the outside duvet or bed spread, they rarely get washed, even in the five star places. And wear socks, except the shower or do...whatever floats your boats. This city is a perfect gateway location for Zion and Bryce National Parks to the north or the Grand Canyon to the south. A very friendly and convenient store with petro is just across the street. Kanab has charming boutique shops full of local art as well as the usual travel trinkets. Go and enjoy!!

Looks great from the outside. I am not a fancy person but when they tell you the $200 dollar a night suite is the best in town you pretty much expect to be happy you got A room here. This is an old room with new carpet. The floor is crooked and the bathroom tile needs to be replaced. NO ...NONE elevator. Three flights of stairs after star told me it was just 6 steps. Lied. Room has old furniture and it smells. The ceiling in the room is bad. This hotel is a motel at best and it is NOT worth a penny over 49.99. Two old chairs with food stains. No elevator . Do yourself a favor and keep on driving if the hotels are full in Kanab.

This review is based on my two-night stay from 10/17/25 - 10/19/25…read more I had heard great things about this place so was really looking forward to checking it out. I was also hoping to "rent" a pet from the Animal Sanctuary for the duration of our visit, but alas, checked in too late for that. I'd advise anyone who wants to "rent" a pet to call in advance to understand the process and time cut-off. I loved the room. It was super cute and well-appointed for guests with pets. There were two bowls waiting near the front door, and two adorable sleeping areas - one in a cut-out in the wall, and another a pull-out trundle-style bed. The mercantile/ store was stocked with cute apparel for pet-lovers as well as items for pets. Breakfast was also served in the store in the morning - with lots of interesting and yummy options - like vegan egg bites and chia seed pudding. 10/10 recommend this place!!

The Best Place For Travelers With Or Without Pets…read more.... For our final 5 nights across the Southwest US, we stayed at the Best Friends Roadhouse. The BF Animal Sanctuary was on our schedule (at least 2 of the 4 days) and both reviews and their website looked great. Pros: - Location: Convenient, especially is you're visiting the Sanctuary. On the main road in the north part of Kanab. - Exterior: A newish looking hotel with nice views to the north and west. - Room: Excellent. Our king suite was spacious. One VERY large room included a big bedroom, a good sized kitchen and a spacious bathroom/shower/vanity. It also had plenty of space for storage and large closets. All done with contemporary Scandinavian furniture which minimizes clutter and convenient controls for lighting, ventilation and automatic shades. - Employees: Helpful. People at the reception desk and in the breakfast area/"Mercantile Shop" were all very friendly. - Breakfast: Vegan and very good. Included with the room. While it wasn't a buffet, you could order as much as you'd like. Much of it was homemade and I especially liked the "Overnight Oats". Unusual Pros: - Cats and dogs are encouraged to stay with accommodations in the room and across the property - "Barn Door" to create privacy between the bedroom and bathroom - Free laundry - Free iPad to use while in the room - Nicely equipped kitchen - Plentiful towels - Choice of full daily housekeeping, partial or none - Attractive high desert landscaping - If you'd like merchandise from Best Friends, the Mercantile Shop had everything Cons: - Bath towels for our first day were luxurious. The next 4 days were like a Holiday Inn. - Toilet paper was 1...maybe 2 ply and quite scratchy - Tissues were a bit rough - Parking was tight, especially on weekends and after 7 PM There are many places to stay in Kanab since it's a busy stop for Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, but the Roadhouse would be our only choice.

We didn't arrive until late Christmas Eve and the lobby was shut down. (fine). We didn't know how to get into our room. After some phone calls were made, we were able to get in the room. As previously mentioned, this hotel/lodge is under new management and has been renovated /updated. Not all the rooms have been redone. The golden age of small bathrooms with no counter space has long since passed. Since we travel to SLC quite frequently, one night is perfect for the Parry Lodge.

When my friends told me they booked this place and I read the reviews after-the-fact, I was so sure it was going to be old, dank, musty and gross. We arrived at night and I was still skeptical of this place. Front desk told us to park on the side of the building on the dirt area. Driving around out back, there was this creepy abandoned barn that gave me horror movie vibes. Our room was in the newer 2-story building. Walking inside though, there were lights everywhere and pictures of celebrities who have stayed there. I saw a guy cleaning one of the rooms and the hallway smelled of Lysol or some cleaner. Ok, good sign I thought. Our room was pretty big with 2 queen beds and a vanity with a sink just outside the bathroom, so two sinks total (convenient!). The furniture was like what you'd find in a 90's home. It felt homey instead of hotel-like which I kinda liked. TV, fridge, microwave.. check. But no coffee maker. You can actually request hot water from the front desk and they'll give you a pitcher. Now the surprises, which made this stay so spectacular. The pillows were SO fluffy. The bed was lined with a thicker, textured design sheet compared to your average hotel paper-thin sheet, and the mattress was soft and comfy. I had way better sleep here than I did at the Hilton the night before. The best part? The bathroom has a heater under the sink that you can control the temperature with a dial on the wall, so it was nice and toasty all the time. It was so awesome! I also noticed the baseboards in the room, the bathtub and caulking in the bathroom were spotless. That's how you know a place is clean. They offer a small breakfast in the dining room for a small $, but we opted out so we can try other restaurants across the street. The coffee and tea are always free. I definitely judged Parry Lodge before arriving here, but boy was I wrong! It is a quaint little place with a nostalgic historic feel, and was not creepy at all. I think this was the hotspot back in the day for western films. A lot of hikers stay here and we saw many early in the morning. I'd stay at Parry Lodge again if we make our way out here in the future.

We drove 4 hours from Las Vegas and booked through Super.com. I'm a Choice Hotels member and was hesitant about Choice properties to begin with -- I usually stick to IHG, Hilton or Marriott -- but a great experience at the Comfort Suites Moab a year ago gave me confidence. The 4.5 stars on Yelp sealed the deal. Big mistake. The phone call before arrival -- called to notify them of a late arrival and the front desk lady answered with a flat "Hello," never pulled up my reservation, couldn't add my Choice Rewards number since I booked third party which is fine, but when I was done with my questions she said "bye" and hung up cold. I work in hospitality. That's not okay. Check in -- the overnight guy in a fedora was genuinely great. Friendly, fast, no complaints. Wish the rest of the staff had his energy at check in. The room -- rock hard queen beds, square couch-style pillows with zero support swimming inside oversized pillowcases, and a pull out sofa mattress with serious visible wear. All four of us on the queen beds woke up with back and neck aches and had to make a grocery run for pain meds before we could function. Breakfast -- both mornings were identical. Cold eggs, rubbery sausage patties, broken juice machine on day two. The make your own waffle station was the only thing worth touching. This is what your $5/night resort fee gets you. The afternoon front desk lady -- sat behind the desk on her personal phone both times we walked through without a single acknowledgment. Asked to switch rooms due to the beds -- flat "No," sold out, zero apology. Later came back from a bike ride with a potentially broken arm and asked where the nearest hospital was -- she pointed without looking up and went back to her phone. My friends had to connect to the hotel WiFi just to pull up directions since T-Mobile is spotty in Kanab. Ended up with a broken forearm and wrist. Now in a cast and sling. I don't expect a front desk employee to be a first responder but basic human decency isn't too much to ask. The A/C -- stopped working at 2am. Called the front desk and the overnight guy answered in silence with his phone playing in the background. After I said hello he responded with attitude. Told him the A/C was out in room 105 and he literally asked me "what should I do?" Requested a room switch, he said sold out and hung up. Five guys trying to sleep in a heatwave with no air conditioning. Pool area -- advertised as open year round and heated. Pool was covered. Spa was open but the gate to the entire area had no lock -- anyone could walk right in. Real safety concern for families with kids. At $146.24 for two nights the price seemed reasonable on paper. In reality this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The area is 5 stars -- this property is not. Stay elsewhere.

If you want to utilize the buffet before a day of hiking, don't anticipate an early start. -the black out curtains don't fully shut.
