Large place with a large pool. It's an older complex but they have been making repairs. The room upgrades are noticed, but work quality is lacking. Shower water is not very hot when full on. The bed was ok and the room was clean. We windows and just outside the door was very dirty including buckets of cigarette butts that haven't been emptied in awhile. Note: use the choice app to reserve the room. The app price was $67 and when I tried to book at the counter, the price was over $100. read more

Psa if you're passing through Gainesville on the way to winstar, DO NOT STAY at the Gainesville quality inn. Jerry and I used this hotel for our anniversary weekend, when get checked in at 2:17 pm we came in put our suitecase down and left. We returned at 10:10 pm. Before we got in bed I stripped the sheets and checked for bed bugs, when I removed the sheets I noticed through the mattress cover that there was something on the mattress so I had Jerry remove all of the sheets that's when we noticed that there was what looked like dried blood on the mattress. I immediately called the front desk and asked that something be done.... cause ew. The guy working the front desk said "there's nothing I can do" I requested his gm. I then placed a call to their corporate office. They opened a ticket and was "going to investigate." The gm came to our room, I asked him to come look at the mattress he refused. Said he wasn't going to give us a refund. At this point I'm fed up. He offered another room but frankly, I'm not staying at a hotel that cares so little. On top of the mattress problem, the room was filthy, cobwebs all of the room paint peeling off the night stands we had to go to walmart and buy our own air freshener the room stunk so bad. The door didn't close all the way so we had to use the chair that comes with the room to prop the door closed. At 10:52pm we left the hotel. The next morning Jerry looked at his card and noticed another 150 dollar charge on his card so we immediately disputed it. The time stamp on the charge was 10:54PM. WE WERENT EVEN COMPLETELY OUT OF THE PARKING LOT YET. Come to find out that the official receipt he didn't officially put on the charge on their until the next day and didn't check us out until the next day at 12:59 PM. In response to the dispute, the GM personally emailed my husband and said "no hotel is gonna give you a refund for that. The 150. 00 charge is cause the damages you caused to my room" yet on the receipt he put in the comments "the room was a mess" the mess in question? The sheets I took off the bed. Corporate tells us that we should just call the GM and take it up with him. Do not stay here. read more

Everything the hotel is ran down and dirty. The room swelled moldy. The door lock was questionable and partly disassembled.

When I'm by myself, I don't require fancy. I need a shower, soft bed, and A/C that works. And that is absolutely all I got at this Quality Inn. From the outside, this hotel is not desirable. Inside the room, they do the bare minimum maintenance to keep the place rentable. Everything worked and my stay was ok, but the owner desperately needs to spend some money on this place. We stay at Choice Hotels all the time, we also have been Choice Privlege's members for well over a decade and we have never had a bad experience, I think some of the reviews are hit pieces set up to over exaggerate negative experiences, they all sound like they were written by disgruntled x-empolyee's. The Gainsville Quality Inn is a nice road side hotel, we've been coming to this hotel for years to visit Gainsville and the casino's across the border into Oklahoma. The staff is always kind and the amenities and rooms are acceptable. Over the years we've noticed the management has done some improvements on the rooms, such as new carpets, beds, sheets and blankets, and other things like adding more outside lighting and maintaining the pool better. I can tell you this, I would rather swim in this pool than the one at the Winstar! I know a lot of the photo's show some bad things here and there, but I think those are again, over exaggerated and outdated, we saw nothing of the sort on our last visit, and we are currently planning to visit this hotel again in the near future. For a budget hotel it's a great value, and that's what I think a lot of people miss in their reviews, Quality Inn is a budget/value oriented hotel that offers a lot amenities at a price point other hotels in the area just can't match, especially if your a Choice Privilege's member. If I do have one critical thing to say about this hotel, do be carful when you pull in the main driveway, you can see all the deep scars in the asphalt where vehicles have bottomed out or scraped their bumpers on the entry driveway. I've noted this to the management before and they are aware of it, but it may be awhile before they fix the issue. Other than that! Enjoy your stay. read more

I don't stay here unless other hotels in the area are full. Last choice and desperate! We booked a room in August for NYE. It was $150 for two night. High for that no tell motel but we booked it anyway. Got a call today they canceled our reservation because of "construction ". We knew they were doing this to make more on the room since we booked when it was cheap. We were told there were no reservations. We checked on line and they are charging $322 A NIGHT! Crooks! Check in was easy and the gals were so nice! However I had to sign if there's damages they'll charge me which is fine. The rooms are all nice and renovated and clean, except the bathroom. It had some poop or blood on the wall, which I wiped off once I saw it. For such a new room(new bed new furniture etc!) someone did some damage one point! I took pics so I won't get blamed... like holes in the carpet from something burning, a huge scratch in the dresser and holes in the wall as well as in the bathroom the paper holder is coming out of the wall.. Nothing bad st all though can be overseen by the cheap hotel price. Plus the sweet check in ladies mad it fun! Great customer service! read more

Price was right and the room was nicely updated and clean-except for the two dead bugs left there. Showers had good pressure and it was quiet. The issues I had were outside. There was a massive amount of bird poop on the sidewalks and the pool obviously hasn't been cleaned in awhile for all the bird feathers in it the grass along the sidewalk that you have to cross over to get to your room was so middle and dank, it tracked mud into the room. The ice maker was broken and water was running along the sidewalk-with bird feathers in it. Clean up the outside and you could get more stars. If you have to stay in Gainesville, go to the Fried Pie Co. they are superb. read more

Front desk staff is rude and aggressively unhelpful. We ate lunch and drove over to the hotel around 2:25 pm and wanted to check in if they had available rooms. Front desk clerk Sandy said "we still have until 3pm. You will have to wait." I don't know how they expect to have rooms ready at 3pm if they don't have them ready at 2:30pm. It's ridiculous to make your customers wait in your parking lot (6 other cars sitting here waiting btw) while you sit on your butt doing absolutely nothing. If the room isn't available at 3pm I'm calling hotels.com and demanding a full refund! Finally got in the room and it smells moldy and damp. Obviously recently renovated VERY POORLY! Carpet is still dirty and disgusting, tile and drywall in bathroom looks like a kid was finger painting with the grout and paint, and the room is very dated. Add in the construction supplies everywhere and abandoned mattresses and furniture stacked everywhere and it's obvious this place doesn't take guest service very seriously. read more

If I could give this place less than one star I would. We booked two non-smoking rooms that knocked us over with the stench of years of ingrained stale smoke. The housekeeper tried to help by spraying disinfectant in the room but it didn't help much. there were stains on the pillow and the sheet. What it was from, I don't want to know. It seemed like many of the former residents of the local prison were residing here and were loitering in their open doorways of their rooms much like they would on their cell blocks at "home". If there were ANY other rooms available we would have left. Do yourselves a favor and spend the extra $30 bucks on a different hotel!!!! read more

I stayed at this location on 9/24/21 , First off when I pulled in the lobby was extremely clean, the front desk clerk was super friendly and welcomed me to the Quality inn in Gainesville TX ... We got into room and it was clean and smelt fresh actually you could more than likely find some bad reviews that I myself have written on this motel , but I here to say they have done a lot of changing and maintenance to this property and it is for the better,, my bed was comfortable..checkout was fast and simple .. i hope you give it a try and your experience is as good as mine , if so be sure and write a review ! It was somewhere to sleep. The room didn't look cleaned, just straightened. Plate covers didn't over outlets properly. The toilet seat was loose so it slid around. Then the toilet itself wobbled on the floor. Shower head was loose on the wall. Just all over sloppy. The stairs are also inconveniently placed for some rooms as the stairwell is on the ends and corners of buildings. read more

The website and booking sites do not have the most current state of this motel. It is falling apart inside and out. If you book through a booking site they will not refund your money. We were horrified and the kids were scared to death. Loud brawls outside, lights fickered, doors wouldn't latch, filth everywhere. Look at these pictures. I should have taken a picture of the other peoples room they gave us the key to first, but you know we were kinda startled and scared walking in on other people. I made a reservation through an app and to my perception at the time had booked a room. I am 17 and live in the state of Texas where it is legal for 17-year-olds to move away from their parents which is the situation in my case. And I wasn't aware it was a hotel policy. I was told that my reservation got canceled. I then informed them I would be getting an 18+ person to purchase the room and they said I could wait on a bench outside because of covid. I then did and then we went back in the lobby and the receptionist was being disrespectful in my opinion. For the price it was meh. We were moved 2 times. The first room the television did not work. So we were moved to another room. That room had the ceiling literally peeling off all over the floor, there was serious water damage to the ceiling. That last room was somewhat clean. By that I mean it looked clean but the bathroom looked like it hadn't been swept. The A/C was not cooling the room. I don't know if it was slow working or just pre set where it wouldn't cool past 73. My husband keeps our house at 69 so 73 was too hot for him. He literally got up at 3am to get a fan from his truck. We were in his work truck so he happened to have a fan. After that we were able to get a good sleep. The employees there are very very nice and accommodating. I would say that they do the best they can with what they can. The property needs more care- I would say that's the owner's responsibility and because of them I'm giving 2 stars. The owners really need to spend more money on this place to get it up to par. Of course we paid $76 so overall for the price I would say it was a good deal. We were driving through and the hubs was nodding off so we just needed somewhere to sleep for the night and shower. I would give a zero star if possible . My husband & I stay was on Friday July 26th through Sunday July 28th we were there staying to visit red river atv park in Muenster tx nearby. We checked in between 1 & 2 am . I notified front desk clerk T.J we had no hot water in our room for showers . She informed me that it was affecting the entire hotel so changing rooms would not help . The next morning was hoping the issue has been fixed & turned shower on water was still freezing . Went to front desk again & same desk clerk was still there & said they had someone working on the issue . So we went about our day later Saturday evening went to take shower after all day riding atv's & still had no hot water & agsin spoke to front desk clerk & while doing so I observed her checking guests in w/o notifying any of them that the hotel did not have hot water & when I confronted her about the continuing issue she said someone was working on it I called her bluff and ask who was working on it and what the issue was because the property was small and we saw no plumbers or maintenance truck or person on duty and she avoided my question . The hotel said no refunds whatsoever for guests and I even contacted Priceline where I had booked the hotel and they tried to speak to and resolve issue and get $ back so we could check out and go somewhere else and they would still not refund our $ . From Friday to Sunday the entire stay we did not have hot wAter . In my opinion the owner/ owners of this property are no different than the thieves who circle there parking lots looking to break into your cars. They take your money promising u amenities that are not available & can't even provide the basic needs of not water. And be aware that this hotel is located next to a bad neighborhood. My husband went to sit in his truck to smoke and we had a trailer attatched with our atvs ehdn we had to confront a shady looking woman circling the parking lot looking at our equipment and went so far as to back up and park and look at our coolers on the back of our truck and parked next to him . She obviously didn't notice he was sitting in the truck. So if u want a place for your $ to be stolen & your things broke into this would be the place to stay !! Horrible read more

We stayed one night and I was well pleased with the service and the cleanliness of the room. The next morning I dropped an earring down the sink. I went to the desk and was informed that maintenance didn't get there until 10. We had somewhere to be. So they said they would get with maintenance. So on our way back through we stopped and they had my earring in an envelope waiting for me. I was extremely happy. read more

Beds are super comfy! My room was very clean and cute. There is remodeling going on in some of the rooms, but our room was surprisingly cute and comfy inside. The outside leaves a little to be desired and you can tell it's an older motel getting a face lift. The only reason I didn't give a 5 was that breakfast left some to be desired. We would stay here again for sure! Also, no bugs at all! I always check the mattresses anywhere I go prior to getting in bed! Someone also complained of roaches, no roaches here. This hotel is very comfortable. The company I hired on with - uses this along with the company I just left. The rooms are clean - the staff is very pleasant - and if I were to gripe... it would be over something the hotel has absolutely no control over: the birds. I will say that the OJ for the morning breakfast seems watered down. I'd prefer to have them offer whole milk along with the 2% and skim they offer. When I'm in the area and have no freight and need to sit... should I have the opportunity - I'll be here again. Fast food and a grocery store - all within walking distance - restaurants and finer dining, driveable distances. Here is hoping that the hotel will maintain their quality, and even improve on the accomodations. However - improvement is in my opinion - restoring a restaurant on location. I don't see that happening with what is available in the area a short distance from the property. read more

Although they are in the process of updating, this place is still not great. Even though my room was supposed to be a nonsmoking room it still smelled of smoke. Just a little hint f you wash the bed linen it will not smell of smoke. Another hint put all your smoking rooms on the top floor. Even better go totally nonsmoking. The room smelled and had bugs flying around, several even escaped from the nightstand when we opened the drawer. I was by no means expecting a five star hotel, but this place wasn't even sanitary. One of the beds had a white substance all over the side and hairs between the sheets. The other bed had a dried blood stain on the comforter. This place is definitely a "just somewhere to sleep place" i was very disappointed in the entire stay. When i got there everything was fine in the office. There were some people outside blocking the stairs who acted like they didnt want to or shoukd i say have to move and we found ourselves on the wrong side of the hotel, so we go back down and shuffle through them again to proceed to the other side. The stairs had a broken step that was definitely hazardous to the public. Made me think another one would break. The phone looked like somebody spilled drink on it more than once. The toilet looked like someone took a bite out of it! The tube outside was very disappointing like they remodel the bathroom half way. Like it was a half job. The smell of the room was horrible, it was like the carpet had never been changed ever! They had a fridge in the room but what about the microwave? Where did they take it!?!?! Did somebody steal it? The only good thing was the bed. Thank goodness. So i go tell the receptionist all of this in the morning during check out. She goes "oh your toilet was backed up?" I said no looked like somebody took a bite out if it. She turned her head to the side and said "oh OK" and "have a great day." At this point I'm no longer shocked that she didnt apologize or say I'll get someone to take care of it. Choice Hotels this is unacceptable and i hope your CEO goes on "Undercover Boss" and fix this mess of a hotel. They need to know what kind of scam thats being ran. Do not let pictures deceive you. The room was complicated to get to and exhausting to reach. Outside entrance. I needed to use the restroom and immediately noticed pubic hair all over the toilet and tub. I called to switch rooms. The next room also had hair and was unclean in the bathroom. The room looked very well renovated but the bathroom seemed left out of the Reno. With scratches and stains all over and an old shower curtain my grandma wouldn't use. There was hair even stuck to the back of the door. The deadbolt to the second room didn't work and when I notified the receptionist she showed no attempt to care for me or my three kids. I couldn't change rooms again due to my kids and no refunds from hotels.com so crawling into bed, the bed was not clean! There was debris all over the sheets! Not to mention how hot the room was. I had to turn the aircon down to 61 to get any relief in which made me and my children sick. Do not recommend. If I paid full price for this I would be furious! Just a side note. Even out of season the pool was filled with moss and chairs were tore up. So deceptive. read more

DON'T STAY HERE IF YOU LIKE KEEPING YOUR MONEY SAFE. If it were possible to give this business zero stars, I would. We stayed here and used a credit card that we don't use often, but the day after the night we checked in at this motel, we started getting charges on the card we didn't make, one of them for $750. We don't have any absolute proof that this motel's employees are responsible, but with how little the card is used, it's highly unlikely the charges came from anywhere else. Just to put a cherry on top of this review, there was a cockroach crawling out from under the door of one of the rooms and a dead bug on one of pillow cases in our room. The bathroom also looked like it hadn't been swept/mopped. A cricket jumped onto me while I was laying in bed. The carpet was absolutely disgusting, didn't feel like catching a disease, so I wore shoes the whole time. I don't recommend this place at all. read more
