Clean, comfortable with friendly staff. I love staying here when we are in Gainesville!

The good: the front desk clerk was friendly and knew how to do her job efficiently. She was able to answer our questions and help us as much as possible. Shower head was nice. Some things seemed clean, towels and sheets. The not so good: this is what a motel looks like when the owner doesn't reinvest enough money into the property. Many places in the hallway and room had bad areas on the walls, paint peeling and bubbled up, that looked like water damage. The window in the room had two locks on it, one was broken so the noise from highway 35 was louder since it wouldn't seal completely. Carpets had stains in places. Chair in the room was worn. Bathroom had a water leak. Easy to tell because the bathroom vanity was swollen and missing the finish in places from what appears to be water damage. The tile in the bathroom must of come loose and repaired badly. The bottom of the bathroom door looks like it has suffered from water damage. No body wash in the dispenser in the shower. Voicemail still on the phone from 3 months ago. The WiFi didn't work. The furniture and fixtures will get worse if there is no reinvestment to replace and repair. The housekeepers could start to lose interest in doing a good job if everything is falling apart around them. Would choose a different place next time. read more

Well I was giving this place a chance after reading the negative reviews and hoping for the best. I pre checked in cause since i was driving in from my hometown over 5 hours away I wanted them to know I was on my way. 30 minutes before I was due to arrive they called me and said they had to cancel my stay. They saw on my booking I had a child with me but they didn't seem to care and when I stated it the man was just dismissive and wanted to be off the phone.. from 10:15pm till 2am I was on the phone and online in a QT gas station trying to find a place to stay. They didn't even want to get me in touch with their booking so I could stay at a different location. I sadly will never stay at any chain tied to them and I will give their competitors all my business from now on. Don't stay here even if it's your last resort just find a room in Denton or Lewisville. read more

No one should stay at this hotel! First our room was rundown and musty. The metal bed-frame makes noises with every little move. The shower would not get hot enough and dripped. TV remote didn't work at first til I had to mess around with it and the cable box behind the tv. However the worst thing was they charged me $70 saying we stole an alarm clock from the room. THERE WAS NEVER A CLOCK IN THE ROOM! Why would my wife and I steal an alarm clock!? Don't stay here! read more

This hotel was obviously updated recently. They did a good job making the lobby and rooms feel and look new with modern decor and pleasant color schemes throughout. We had our two pups with us and not having to pay any fee to have them with us was a MAJOR PLUS! The front desk personnel were all pleasant and informative. Our room was on the top floor, almost directly in front of the elevator. Initially, I was a little concerned that there would be a lot of noise, but we never heard the sounds associated with arrivals and departures of other guests. An earlier review mentioned that the top floor rooms are moldy, but I did not smell anything that would support that. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was either a cleaning agent or floral room deodorizer that was used in the room that I did not really care for. But, once we were in the room for a little bit, we did not notice it anymore. The elevator is a little sketchy! Our first trip up to the room had us thinking that the elevator was getting stuck or that something within the pulley system was slipping. If the hotel would post a notice advising that the elevator has been inspected and that the sounds are harmless, that would have been helpful! We were going to go soak in the hot tub, but it was not heating properly. The hotel clerk had no idea when they would be getting it fixed. We did not go in the pool, but it looked refreshing. There are plenty of grassy areas to take your pets. However, they are not fenced areas. They also do not have any dog poo bags, so you'll want to grab an ice bucket bag if you don't have any poop bags of your own. The breakfast is the typical free continental fare plus they had breakfast burritos. I don't know if they were supposed to have biscuits and gravy with sausage and forgot to put out the gravy or if they just had biscuits and sausage. Several folks did what I did and looked around for the gravy thinking that there was biscuits and gravy. The breakfast area is spacious and well organized when it comes to the placement of all the breakfast items. There is a movie theater and an Apple Bees right next door. So, not only is there a place to have dinner or a drink and appetizers but you can also catch a movie if you wish. We would DEFINITELY stay at this La Quinta again. It was easily accessible, had good parking and the price was very reasonable. read more

Once of the best stays in a moderate type hotel. Not at all what I expected. The breakfast had way more than I expected and see in normally on business hotels. Waffles, yogurt, scrambled and boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, bagels, toast, cereal station, and fresh sausage and egg biscuits potato cheese burritos from Johnsonville. Maybe because it's near the Winstar Hotel Casino, but they definitely brought their A game. read more

This hotel is not bad BUT a few things that caused this rating. You have minimal control of the ac and the warm was quite warm, the televisions have a volume cap and it was difficult to hear and the highway is very loud. Also this hotel is capitalizing on covid by serving bare minimum crap for breakfast. Nutrigrain bar, or coffee cake bar or yogurt that's all! read more

There were leak spots in the bathroom ceiling, the elevator was broke most of the time. The lobby was nice. The room was supposed to have a pull out couch and did not. We had to have people sleeping on the floor. Breakfast was good and staff was pleasant. read more

Stayed here a few times now... they allow dogs with no additional fee so it's perfect for a weekend trip to winstar from Fort Worth TX. The staff could use some improvement, we checked in on a Friday and tried to call to stay one more night but they said they were booked. Hopped online to booking.com and was able to get a room no problem. Staff wasn't very friendly and spend s lot of time on the phone. The hotel is nice though and so is the morning breakfast. I was easily able to extend check out but not check in early. The beds in the room with 2 beds are small, but it's clean, has refrigerators, and everything else about the room is good. There is a smack area where you can get drinks and snacks downstairs and they have a pool. read more

I am extremely disappointed in this hotel. We booked it through Expedia because of the hot tub and pool ... which are "out of order" but it didn't say that on the website. We are on the 4th floor, which isn't an issue but the elevator screams and whines from the 3rd to the 4th, but going to 1, 2, and 3 are fine. On top of that their wifi drops every 10 seconds so you have to keep signing back in! read more

In the middle of nowhere! - I meant Gainesville, Texas. Honestly, the only reason I stayed here was because it was a freebie from the Winstar World Casino. I took the free room as part of my Player's rewards. I was not expecting much but who wants to drive back from Thackerville, OK at 5 AM? Gainesville, Texas is about 5 miles from the Texas-Oklohoma border. I was with friends so the room was awesome! It was an actually suite with a living room, sofa-bed and two queen size beds. I was really surprised. I must have slept 6 hours in the room. the continental breakfast was "YUM!" But, the pool opens at 10:00 AM as does the gym. I wanted to run and swim, but checkout is at 11:00 AM. So I went to the pool for about an hour even though the hotel would not extend my checkout past noon. That was the only bummer of the whole trip, but it was free! Also, you can not stay at the hotel unless you call the Winstar World Casino to make reservations. Walk-ins are not accepted. Weird, right? Apparently, the hotel has an agreement with the Winstar to take overflow from the overbooked casino only. Get a player's club and get a free room! It is worth it. read more

Very nice and clean! Happy to find they have elevators. Real hangers were nice. Shower pressure very nice. Beds comfy and linens clean. One of the nicest La Quinta we have ever stayed at ( and we stay at La Quinta a lot. We travel for business every week and are elite status with La Quinta because we stay there so much). Would definitely stay again. Breakfast was also wonderful! Bacon, two kinds of eggs, waffels (of course), kolaches, Homestyle potatoes, yogurt, breads, muffins- etc. the whole bit. Stayed here because the casino was full- decent rate and it includes breakfast and gym/pool access. The rooms were clean, employees helpful and polite, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable considering it doesn't exactly look like a good area. Just a heads up that we were asked for our car make/model/color/plate info upon sign in? That struck me as odd, so I don't know if they regularly tow or what- the lot was never full so I wouldn't see a reason to. The on-site gym is nothing to write home about- literally two treadmills and one or two other outdated pieces of equipment, so if you're diehard about your workout you may make the effort or it may be pointless, but it's your call. On the up side, considering the gym is so sparse, it was open all hours so I could go at 3AM when I couldn't sleep. Didn't wake up in time for the bfast buffet but heard others who were underwhelmed- go ahead and grab the buffet at the casino instead. Free doesn't always mean worth a damn. So depending on your budget this may be a good place to stay- it's close enough to the casino that it's not a big deal, but some people may find it to be a hassle. Guess those people should have planned ahead? read more

Chose that La Quinta since, like most La Quinta Inns, they're pet friendly with no extra charge which is a great perk. The room was nice, though smelling a bit "stale". The biggest issue came at check out time: both the website (screenshot attached) and reservation email direct from La Quinta listed a noon check-out. However, starting at a little after 11AM, we started getting a knock on our door. I thought it was odd since the do-not-disturb sign was on. It was housekeeping checking on the room since, according to them, checkout was 11AM. We told them that we were basing timing off the information we were given and would be out by 12. We started to get out as soon as possible, but at that point, there wasn't really an opportunity to get out sooner. We then get a phone call from the front desk reminding us it was time to check out (did housekeeping not tell them about our conversation?) We left the room right around 12:00 and went to front desk to check out and voice our concerns. We told the front desk that we were a bit upset about what had gone on. Their response: "check-out, is at 11". We said the email confirmation stated 12. Response: "was that from us or a 3rd party?" We told them direct and showed the email. I even showed them their own website saying that it listed 12noon. Response: "oh, that needs to be updated, checkout is at 11". I understand that the onsite staff doesn't control the likes of the automated emails and website, but all we got was deflection and not even an attempt at a "sorry for the confusion". We were going down to voice our concerns and give the heads up on what customers are being presented with, but the response we got was not even an attempt to recognize where we were coming from. Does not leave a good vibe and quickly escalated the situation. read more

We chose this hotel specifically because of the yelp reviews we had read. I am so glad we found it! The parking lot is brightly lit, which is important when you are a mom traveling alone with two kids. The pool and hot tub were open until 10, which was great. We also like that they have a free hot breakfast that includes things like eggs, sausage, pastries, waffles (shaped like Texas!), fruit, cereal, and pigs in a blanket. The room was spacious and clean. I also like that the entire hotel is non-smoking, and I like that they allow dogs. I was very pleasantly surprised. The only suggestions that I might make are that they use real plates and cutlery at breakfast instead of styrofoam and plastic and that they make check-out at noon. Looks great from the exterior. New and clean and nice lobby with a great pool. However, I was sent to the second floor with my two dogs and luggage. The elevator was slow even for one floor. The room looked great. Nice inside and very clean with nice furniture. However sleeping had it's own set of problems. Very loud room. You could hear everyone coming and going in the hallways. It seemed to have no insulation between rooms. It was a very unrestful evening and all I wanted to do was sleep. The people directly above my room sounded like a herd of cattle and probably all they were doing was walking around their room. Upon checkout in the early a.m. the night shift clerk had a don't bother attitude. Also, there was no coffee available at all prior to their "bright side" breakfast being set up. DO NOT STAY HERE. When we arrived, we were told that they had already checked somebody else into our room under our reservation AND used my credit card on file to check them in! So instead of a king suite, we are now in a room with 2 double beds and a $141 charge on my card that isn't even mine!!! They are saying it will take 2-3 business days to get the charge reversed. I am beyond furious. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Hampton Inn. read more

I am so in love with this place I wanna stay here for ever!!!! I am going to be very sad when I have to check out tomorrow by far it is the best hotel and I stayed at some nice places I might have not reviewed them but I have. This was just what I needed to feel a whole lot better for I've been stressed out with headaches everyday the past 2 weeks. I am in the jacuzzi suite on a floor that only has 1 room on the side which is mine which means I don't have any loud noises on the other side of me (stairs) and then none on the other (employee room)!!!! Oh I am in heaven!! No loud tvs haunting me as I walked down the hall like the other hotel, no construction work going on in here like the other 1, just a classy hotel all around. This place has a large swimming pool, a fitness room, a REAL business office for their guest........ not one of the hotels that say business office and u get a small room with one outdated computer that got windows 98 on it and a printer that take so long to print u could go grocery shopping and come back and its still in the middle of the first page!!!, friendly clerks, a continental breakfast and I know I know for most hotels that means muffins do they do have muffins but they also have some of the best waffles here shapped as texas. Here is the 1 problem that I am seeming to have................... waaaaaaaait forrrr iiiiiiit........waiiit forrrrr itttttt...... StaYiNg oUt ThE jAcCuzZi! !!!!!!!! Its so relaxing so serene plus the quietness on both sides oh my gosh I'm in heaven so far I've only had 1 night I have 1 more to go and I'm having a slight problem of leaving my room I don't want to go anywhere because of I just I don't want to do it! So far I take a shower jump in the jacuzzi that thing makes me feel relaxed I've passed out on the bed and the relaxation puts me to sleep that's been my thing all day ive used it 3 times already!!!!! NO HEADACHES SINCE I BEEN HERE!!!! and my work and home life managed to drive me nuts the past week or two this place relaxed me to where I am giddy and relaxed its just what i need. My room was clean no question in my head if the sheets. had been changed or room wiped and clean out like I did at another hotel. When I first checked in I opened my room door and a popuree scent greatted me at the door I knew this was gonna be a good dventure right away (i ran and hoped on the bed) The room was impeccable marble finish bathroom counters with a swanky contemporary modern feel. Nice flat screen tv and a huge king size bed with wood furniture and beautiful accents. This is a great hotel. We were in town for a concert at WinStar and it is only 8 miles to the casino. The rooms were clean, staff was accommodating and friendly, and the breakfast was great. They serve Texas waffles! I recommend this affordable and nice hotel to any guest visiting the area. read more

I gave this one star because zero stars were not available. We made a reservation and asked for a first floor room. We followed in a couple who were passing by and decided to stay. They got a first-floor room. We were sent to the third-floor. When I walked in the room, it looks like a bunch of rodeo Cowboys had been in the room. There were cigarette butts everywhere. Sheets, towels, and empty alcohol bottles. We went back downstairs and the girl checking in said oops. I sent you to a dirty room. Here are the keys to another. And I'll upgrade you to the suite. That sounds good, except the bed was not comfortable and the pillows felt like basketballs. My husband got up and tried to sleep on the couch. We couldn't shit the blinds so the sun coming up put an end to that. We did call and complain. They refunded us $42 about 1/2 of what the room cost. We travel to Ft Worth a lot because my 90 year old dad lives there. I won't be staying here again read more

I picked this location for the continental breakfast and family suite since it was 2 adults and 3 children traveling, and I wanted to scope out the location to see if it was friendly enough to bring our dog the next time. Even though there is an Applebee's and movie theatre next door, the room was quiet compared to other hotels; my dog would definitely be fine staying here. The room was very roomy and there are ice machines near by. The continental breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, blueberry and banana nut muffins, choice of cereal, choice of juices, coffee, breakfast potatoes, waffles, etc. The living room loveseat turned into a twin size bed but it was very uncomfortable, we usually pack an air bed anticipating this but it was forgotten at home. There is an indoor pool and the water seemed normal temperature and the room itself was comfortable, we didn't go in but there were several people and kids in there. Having been to several hotels this is by far one of the best. We always travel with a small air purifier or small fan since we have several snorers in the family :) Very clean location. We went to Frank Buck Zoo and Leonard Park near by. The outlet mall that used to be there is not open anymore. read more

We stayed last night and after our concert came back to our room, climbed in our bed and had a large bed bug crawl across our bed. We got out of bed and moved our pillows and had 8 lil bed bugs start to scatter away. I went to talk to the desk person and all they could do was give us a refund and offer to move us to another room. Why???? So we can spread the bed bugs on our stuff. We had our bags and clothes on the beds for hours while at the concert. We had to pack all our stuff into trash bags and leave so we wouldn't infest our car and house. So my Mother's Day weekends was totally ruined. They also had the ceiling falling and all over the ground in the pool area. The indoor spa was green and ice cold with a note that said "sorry for the inconvience". Another sign on elevator that stated issues with elevator. The wall paper on the left side of lobby was curling and coming off the wall. They put plants to hide it. They tell you the are under construction but we stayed here 8 months ago and they said the same thing back then too. While dealing with the bedbugs and waiting to hear from the manager, I heard them tell 2 other couple that the room was $179 tonight. Seriously!!!!! With all these issues. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Any other place would be better then here!!! read more
