Don't trust making reservations from the website! It had me verify my stay itinerary and when I approved my stay, I got a confirmations on the wrong dates and for 2 rooms - when it was one room with 2 queen size beds in it. Immediately I called the hotel directly and was told to go back to the website. I did - but there's no place to go for canceling. The email reservations allowed me to cancel. Now with a print of the cancellation I am unable to talk to anyone about refunding me my $. Im mad - and want my $ back! read more

This hotel is so conveniently located but the rooms are just not being held to the standard they should be for how much they are charging. When we first walked into our hotel room inside of the bathroom had black mold around the edge of the tub and wilting wallpaper. I want to post pics but I can't on this app... gross black mold and wilting wall paper. It was not worth what we paid. Do better you guys. read more

Stayed here on the last leg of our trip. We don't normally stay at Fairfield, but we decided we would give it a try. Not good, not terrible, just average. We just stayed here to go to the casino. The rooms were very comfortable and the front desk staff were friendly. The breakfast was pretty good. The property was well lit, and we didn't get a scary vibe at all. I would for sure refer a friend to stay there. I read a review about the shower with no pressure, all we had to do was change the setting on the shower head. read more

BED BUGS!!!!! We booked a room 9/27/2024and one after after checking in, we noticed BED BUGS crawling around the headboard and pillows. (room 214) We immediately went downstairs to report it to the clerk, and decided to check out! the clerk on duty said that we would receive a full refund in the morning when the GM came in, but it never happened. we finally was able to reach the GM, in which she informed us that she sent the "Exterminator" to the room and he didn't find any bugs. We then contacted the corporate office expressing our complaint and concerns, and we were told to refer back to the Hotel in question. we are still dealing with whelps and bite-marks from the Bed-Bugs! This entire matter is disappointing to say the least, but rest assured, WE WILL NEVER VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN! read more

Again, one of my other travel for work stays, but it was awesome! Staff allowed me to check in early with no fee, staff were so sweet and understanding/accommodating. A staff that stood out doing her best was Teresa! My room was great! The shower was nice, had glass sliding doors that kept all the water inside, toilet was great ( a little low for my opinion, as it was lower than my knee), water pressure on the sink could've been better. But the rest of the room was good. Bed was conformable, smelled clean and looked clean, all cabinets were flush and not needing to be lifted to closed, ac was cold and had the ability to stay on consistently, mini fridge kept things ice cold which was great! Small but mighty microwave heated things up quickly. Loved the location, right off the highway next to many great eating establishments not even a mile away. Next door there was a fast station with a golden chick attached and had everything you'd need there. Now the highway noise may annoy certain people but I didn't mind it, it was pretty much white noise. Overall for work stay, only paid $100 I couldn't complain. read more

NO HOT WATER! What a miserable stay. Checked in and was advised that the pool was warm. Wrong! Their idea of a warm swimming pool is to make the pool room really hot and humid with freezing water. The distributor for the hotel hot water system was broken and we were told it would be resolved the following day. We were on day 6 and still no hot shower. Our family comes into Gainesville several times a year to visit. We will NOT be staying here again as we are still waiting on corporate to resolve the issue since management cannot get it fixed in a timely manner or at all. read more

First of all, the 2 dumpsters were emptied at 4am and seemed to have pleasure in making the greatest noise. We were told this was the quiet side of the hotel; dread to think what the other side sounds like facing 35. Secondly, at 7 am after 5 minutes in the shower, the water ran totally cold. Even tho the Marriott policy is wear a mask, and with signage at the entrance,clerk upon checking in declined to comply. When I asked him, he said that TX doesn't require it yet he works for Marriott which does. Seriously ?? Rooms are mostly in good shape. They gouge the rate on weekends by $80-100. This was the first time I stayed at the Fairfield in Gainesville. I was traveling for work so I needed a safe place to unwind after doing so. The room was clean and comfortable with great tv options. Their fitness center had three working thread mills and updated weight equipment. In the morning, croissant breakfast sandwiches were available which was a nice change from the usual hotel bacon and eggs. Definitely a good place to stay. read more

Clean rooms, friendly staff and a nice lobby and gym. I did t use the gym but it looked great. The furniture is modern and plenty of room to relax in the studio room with a single bed and couch bed was comfortable but I wish they would bring back the pillows pre Covid that were more comfortable. Lots of parking I. The rear and sides but limited up front. Breakfast was decent options and maintained so plenty of food. If you like Marriotts on the lower price point it's a good stay in Gainesville. Worst part is that you are on the highway so ask to be on the east side of hotel away from the highway to minimize the noise read more

4.5 stars if I could. I travelled across half US this summer and this is one of few lodgings that seems to adhere to cleanliness and a maintained modern stay. Room was small 2 queen room for family with kids, fine for 1 night pass through. No noise from hall or other guests coming and going. But if you stay on highway side You will likely hear highway noise. Checkin was friendly for 12am arrival. I try to avoid budget (choice,6) franchise lodging as standards seem to reflect value/experience of owner and not government or corporate hygiene standards. read more

This hotel censors their TVs in the lobby and the common eating area, specifically Fox News, which had been blocked by a Marriott corporate employee. All other news channels were available such as CNN, MSNBC, etc. FOX news channel was available in the guest suites and was obviously part of their cable line up but had been deliberately blocked on the common area TVs. This is a clear case of censorship and something you would expect to see in communist China but not in the USA! I am a platinum member of the Marriott rewards program and sadly I will no longer be staying at any Marriott property. read more

Nice building and convenient to Winstar but several things weren't up to par. The water wouldn't get hot (shower/sink) and the breakfast menu for complementary was substandard. The floor in our shower made noise when you stood there in a certain place. Positive note the bed was comfy and room was clean. The road noise is something to contend to when you stay by the interstate. All and all it was okay. read more
