That is filthy where you put your head.

If this place wasn't pet friendly I would have nothing positive to say. Carpets were the filthy. Room appeared clean. Front staff was friendly.

I was very happy with this hotel for several reasons. It has a great location in relation to Tecumseh, Toledo, Ann Arbor, and Cabelas. It also is one of the only hotels in the area that is dog friendly so that was fantastic for us but that might be a reason for you not to stay here as well. The staff was friendly enough, and anytime we needed anything such as a trash bag and more towels they were right on top of it. The morning breakfast was basic. The small indoor pool was a nice place for my nephews to play, and its also are open for adults only from 10 to midnight. The walls are a little thin, so we did hear some hallway noise. If you are a light sleeper bring earplugs or a white noise machine. If I ever need to stay in the area again I would definitely come back.

It's in a convenient location very close to the highway, a gas station, and multiple places to eat. The staff worked at being friendly, helpful, and cooperative. The important areas, our beds, the breakfast area, and the pool, were all clean. Unfortunately, there were multiple maintenance issues. First off, the door didn't lock unless we were inside to bolt and latch it! We told the front desk but nothing was done. Very disconcerting. Also the phone in the room didn't work, the sink didn't drain properly, we couldn't stop the tub from draining for the kids bath, and the chairs in the room were filthy. It's a cheap, fun little place for the family. Nothing fancy, but it needs some work for sure.

Just what I want to see when I lay my head down. A giant bed bug.

Due to this, I am not sure why i had to pay over $200 for a room PLUS the outrageous fee for "water park" entry. In any other hotel/water park combo's that I have visited, your hotel comes with the entry in one bundle... and I have been to much better combo's for less money. The water in the splash park was SO cold we could only stay in for 15 minutes before my daughters' lips turned blue. Total waste of money! All night long children were running through the halls, even playing ding dong ditch. The guests directly upstairs sounded like a herd of elephants ALL NIGHT LONG. I came with a 1 year old and a 3 year old and none of us slept throughout the night. I called the office about it but it continued throughout the night/early morning. I was NOT a happy camper despite the potential of this place to be a fun family outing.

There was nothing else about this hotel and waterpark was even average. I have never had such consistently poor service from any other vacation-type destination. Check-in is woefully understaffed and results in lines. We had to have our room key remade twice because it stopped working... There was a ten minute wait at the front desk both times. The in-house restaurant is where we found the worst service. It was as though they were surprised to see guests, and after our experience, I see why. We ate dinner there and waited to place our order, waited for drinks, burgers were overcooked, and all three burgers were gone by the time the mustard we requested made it to the table. We made the mistake of eating at the breakfast buffet the next morning. We waited 25 minutes to be seated, while staring at several (not sure if it was 4 or 5) empty tables the entire time. Once seated, it was another 20 minutes before anyone stopped to take a drink order, and then another 10 minutes before we received our bill. My family will never return to this location.

Upon arriving, there's no one at check in. They leave your name and room key in an envelope at the front desk. I guess I'm not use to this, but it was late and I just wanted to get into my room. I had a room on the 2nd floor. It was great and very comfortable. Lots of space for 1 person. The room had a mini fridge that had several water bottles, sodas, fruit, yogurt. It was very accommodating that they provided that for their guest. One evening it was raining and I was caught in the rain.. my clothes were drenched and I decided to do laundry. It was very easy to use and I found it super convenient. I loved Hotel Sterling and will probably be back when I'm in town again.

We heard people later on that night coming and going, but never saw another soul. We had the curb-side room since my wife was on crutches. The parking is great and free. The service, while almost invisible is excellent. The rooms are outstanding. The price is reasonable. The in room refreshments are free. I only wish we could stay here more often. My one complaint has little to do with the hotel. Downtown Monroe isn't doing great and some of the shops and eateries nearest walking distance were closed. But it's Monroe. You can drive across town in 5 minutes.
