My sister got me and my husband a room for are 24th anniversary 8/9/25. We got there to check in. Apparently you could not honor the reservation because you were having 3rd party issues. After trying to get it fixed for a hr there was nothing that you could do to fix it. As we are walking out the door. We were told. We hope you have a good night. How in the he** are we going to have a good night when we don't have a room. We will never spend another dime there. If anyone gets turned away from firekeepers I suggest trying the baymont hotel in battle creek . Great service, very nice and helpful staff, awesome room. For dinner we recommend clares on the river. Hotel is nice but there is room for improvement. We recently spent 2 nights here. Daily housekeeping is supposedly provided but our room was not made up by 3:00 after our first night. We finally just asked for clean towels. There is a sticker on the mirror in the bathroom asking for a " cashless " tip. Being we had " service less" room cleaning I saw no need for a tip. This was on a Tuesday morning so I can't believe the hotel was very busy. There was also a strong sewer odor in the bathroom. We git a deal on the room but I was glad we didn't pay full price. Went here(we stayed at the hotel) for a weekend getaway with my husband and visited the casino. This was our 1st time staying at the hotel but our 2nd visitng the casino. I was lucky enough to obtain a reservation in one of their fireplace suites and I am so happy that I did. The pictures on their website really does not do any justice, the rooms are so much nicer in person. Once we arrived, check-in was easy and quick. If you need a cart they have staff to assist you with your luggage to your room. Every staff person that we encountered was very nice and helpful. Please know that you can not take outside alcohol to your room(you will miss it on their website when booking) and considering I never received a confirmation email for my reservation. You can take a small personal cooler with only water, juice or sodas(trust me security will check it)! Once we got to our room it was so nice, spacious and clean. The bathroom came with a full bath with shower and jaquzzi tub and a half bath. We also went to two of their restaurants the 24/7 Cafe for breakfast and it was really good. We went to the Nibi for dinner and I have reveiwed that in a separate review. We will most definetly be going back to stay again. read more

I strongly suggest all senior citizens take their business elsewhere. When I booked this room I made a special note that my grandmother has a walker and has mobility issues. We booked the ADA room to better accommodate her special needs. We arrived yesterday around 1:30, which was 2.5 hours before our scheduled check-in at 4:00 pm. My grandmother had some pretty bad stomach problems. We hung around the for an hour before I approached the front desk to ask if anything could be done to get our room faster. She needed the room amenities and to lay down. The front desk attendant apologized and stated she could not help and she was very sorry, because the room was being cleaned still and assured me they would call us. This should have been red flag. A senior citizen with a walker is feeling ill, and the attendant couldn't be bothered to make a call to a manager. This is 2:30pm and 1.5 hours before our scheduled check-in. Surely, they will take the health concerns of a senior into consideration to prepare the room before schedule.They did not do anything to even attempt to accommodate my grandmother's needs. 4:00 pm came and passed. There was no call. 4:00 pm was our designated check-in, and somehow our room was not ready. We continued to wait for our call. 5:00 pm arrives. This is now 1 hour after our scheduled check-in time. It is also 3.5 hours since we had made the staff aware of my grandmother's urgent necessity of having a room. I went back to the desk at 5:15 pm, and was told the room STILL wasn't ready. I don't know much about hotels. What I do know is that they have one job. They provide their patrons with rooms. I would have expected some urgency to have been applied to the rediment of rooms designed specifically for people with handicaps and physical limitations so they may be completed when promised. I asked for the manager. I have a conversation with the manager, Kim. I asked why our room wasn't ready despite the 4:00 pm check-in AND my plea for an earlier check-in to a prior staff member. Kim also seemingly unbothered by the situation, offered a one bed room. I declined as there were obviously three of us. We were also offered a non ADA room. This means they make ADA last on their list of priorities. Why are other rooms available? Why is the room designated for a disabled person not ready? Had it been neglected even after having made them aware of the need for that room? At this point my mom and I are both feeling disrespected. We were treated with disregard. Nobody seems to be listening that my grandmother is disabled. Kim told us at 5:30 pm that the room was finally being cleaned, and we received her phone call to pick up our keys at 6:00 pm.During our interaction with Kim we asked if we could receive any kind of compensation for this awful situation. She told us she "might" be able to get us a late checkout but she would need to talk with the other supervisor. Overnight , my grandmother fell while trying to get out of bed because the sheets were so slippery she slid right off and ended up on her knees and could not get back up for quite a while. This morning when we checked out at 9:00 am, we specifically asked what kind of compensation we would receive. We were told to return in 30 minutes. How convenient that we might have been leaving at that time and might not want to wait for an answer. We returned after two hours just to see if they would do the right thing. We were told we were given a 12:00 pm checkout which was not confirmed yesterday. It was not mentioned when we checked out at 9:00 am. We were gifted a late checkout, after we had checked out. Is this how Firekeepers treats all senior citizens? Kim and each front desk staff member I talked to showed that they really couldn't care less about the situation or about the needs of their elderly/ disabled customers. The building is gorgeous, clean, everything I could have hoped for but you have done a massive disservice to the wonderful aesthetic of your establishment. If this is just an error and a lack of training in your staff, please correct this mistake immediately. Our elders and disabled loved ones should not have to endure the feeling of being a burden for their special requirements. read more

I was lucky enough to receive a free room at the hotel!! I have stayed there plenty of times. However.....I have NEVER been treated with so much kindness, care, excellent service!! From the time I walked up to the desk til the time I got in my room! BOBBY, man at the desk was So Nice & Friendly!! He took all my info & then ask me if I would like a room by the elevator!! Bless Him cuz that was Wonderfu! Got off the elevator, turned right & BAM there was my room!! Now, while getting my things together, Bobby ask me if I would like some help! Mind you, I didn't have a lot, just enough bags to be awkward. He offered to have MARTY, the Bell Boy, help with my things! Marty got the cart, loaded up my things, & got me to my room. Need less to say it was over priced as usual but the kicker is there was no con breakfast no wet bar no nothing we ordered room service for breakfast $60 + and gave the waitress 20 She demanded a tip. There was t even bottled water in fridge . It's clear they're good at taking your money as soon as you walk in until you leave . They made me pay another tip checking out . Beware even if you spend big money there trained to suck all the cash they can never going back . Such an amazing staff who did everything to make things perfect for our stay. I called and they arranged for a special designed birthday cake and champagne to be in our room that night as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday. Took my girlfriend to Firekeepers Casino during her visit to the north. She spends a lot of time working in Vegas, so she was anxious to see what Battle Creek had to offer for the nightlife. Upon entering we were impressed by the lively decor and clean environment (although it is rather smokey from cigarettes). Staff at the counters and gift shop were very friendly and helpful, especially the young lady who spent time to explain the unique items as we browsed the merchandise at the Trader's Blanket gift shop. After a short sign-up for the casino's Rewards Card, we then hit the slots. Although I didn't leave a rich man, they were fun and hit wins enough to keep me from feeling too bad about parting with my money! We then went to the bar and enjoyed some nice beers and delicious loaded fries. After a few more games we decided to go to the Smoke N' Fire for dinner. Unfortunately this proved to be the low point of the night. The decor in this restaurant seemed very out-of-place; Bright with a lot of light colors and curvy features. Very strange for a BBQ dining environment. We each ordered the Brisket dinner and a couple of interesting sounding sides. The Brisket we were served was very dry and bland. Even extra BBQ sauce couldn't make it enjoyable. The coleslaw was limp and watery. Most of the food seemed to have sitting around instead of being prepared fresh. Drink selection was also poor. For the money you pay (~$60 for us), you would expect to at least have decent food. When our waitress inquired after our meal, we told her about these problems, but after only a simple, "I'm sorry to hear that." she asked if we were interested in desert. I couldn't even finish my meal because it was so unappetizing. Why would I risk desert? All-in-all, we had a fun night. I was a bit embarrassed about the dining after I talked up how much I wanted to try the smoked fare at the Smoke N' Fire, and I wish we would have skipped it and went to a better restaurant, like Grand River Brewery in nearby Marshall. I didn't like ending, what was up to that point a fun night, with sub-par dining. If you are looking to play games and enjoy a few drinks, then Firekeepers is a nice place to go, but maybe avoid the restaurants. They seem to be a gamble not worth taking. read more

Firekeepers Casino and Hotel is about 5 minutes from downtown Battle Creek, conveniently located just off I-94. The hotel has been beautifully decorated and the staff is helpful and friendly. We stayed in a King room, which featured a king bed, mini fridge (not weight-sensitive like other casinos), a huge bathroom with a stand-up shower, and an in-room safe. The hotel offers Spit Fire restaurant and a petite bar near the front desk, both of which are good and worth a casual visit. There are more bars and restaurants in the casino for an upscaled experience. There is also an indoor pool with a hot tub. We booked our reservation online, which was super easy, though I do recommend making reservations well ahead of time as it's no secret this is a great place for a fun weekend. I will definitely stay here again next time we visit Battle Creek/Kalamazoo. read more

We had the corner room with two walls of windows from floor to ceiling. We would love to stay here again sometime if we're in the area. We do love this casino, we have 3 close to us but hardly an opportunity to go home with any of their money plus the buffets in those other casinos dont compare with FireKeepers. We have a cottage in Brooklyn so we make it our business to go at least once a month, sometimes we stay at the hotel, complements of the them, beautiful comfy rooms but mostly we come home because I smoke and sometimes I really really want a cigarette and thats a no no! We went tonight and came home with $1400. hubby hit the royal flush, and I got some slips from the slots....good times, they know how to treat people!! Very disorganized...allowed 3 couples ahead of us to check in, but when it came down to my reservation, our rooms were not ready. Oh, on top of that, there is a 4 hour wait for the buffet. Are you joking me?!?! Paid full price for a king size room, it would have been nice if staff informed you at time of check in to expect delays due to higher volume of gamblers. We were awed! it was gorgous---no room key---you put the little rectangle next to the door and turn the handle--very cool---the flat screen was waiting with a message for us on it---welcome Davis family hope you have a wonderful time. We had a great evening and it was a wonderful 22nd wedding anniversary for us. the only complaint I had, we weren't told they were gonna debit our checking acct with our debit card for $50 until like 4 days later when it was taken off I didn't think that was ok, not sure if they didn't tell my hubby they were gonna do that, or not. Awesome property. I lived in Vegas for 15 years and if FireKeepers were in Vegas, I would absolutely stay there. We spent a night for a little getaway as we live a little over an hour away, and it was very nice. Nice TV with a lot of channels, nice alarm clocks with IPod docks, mini refrigerator for your use (not a useless minibar), and large bathrooms with a glass shower. beds were extremely comfortable too. The only negative thing I could think of is that there is really no view unless you like staring at I94 or miles of farm land,lol. Restaurants including buffet are great and I love the sports bar as they do not gouge you on drink prices like most casinos do...very fair drink prices, cheaper than many bars in the area. Awesome indoor pool and hot tub as well. Will definitely be back! read more

Third year going to Thanksgiving brunch. Last year getting reservations was a disaster and ended up contacting guest services at the hotel in order to get confirmation that they had our reservations. This year again the number given to make reservations was never answered, there was just a message saying leave your information if you want to make a reservation. Considering the problems last year I really wanted to speak with someone so I called at least 6 times during the day about a week before Thanksgiving and only got the recorded message. So I finally gave up and left a detailed message which included spelling my first and last name, and slowly leaving my phone number twice saying that if there was an issue to please call me. Never heard a thing. Got to the hotel on Thanksgiving and it took about 20 minutes in line before we got to the podium where they were checking reservations. And of course, she didn't have my reservation. This lady was EXTREMELY rude and insisted that if she didn't have my reservation that I didn't make one - so basically calling me a liar. After arguing with her she finally told us to have a seat and she would see if maybe they could squeeze us in. By that time I'd had it with her and told her to never mind that we'd go somewhere else and would never be back. Ended up having a great meal someplace else which was $9 less than the $31.50 they were charging. Just a comment about the hotel's response - I gave them my cell phone number which is in my possession and turned on 24x7, so they never attempted to call me. read more

I originally booked a King room. Immediately after booking online I was recommended an upgraded room. After a long day in the casino we retired to the suite that the hotel recommended we upgrade to. Unfortunately the main feature of the upgraded room (Jacuzzi tub) was broken. Rather than call a maintenance worker up to our room at midnight we decided to tell the front desk in the morning. We were told sorry and to call maintenance next time. I was contacted by a guest services employee after I wrote an email and he too simply implied that it's our fault for waiting so late to use the tub and not being patient at 12am to wait for maintenance. They would not refund me the additional cost for the upgrade that didn't work and that they recommended. read more

Hotel recently open and already is run better than anything around. Rooms are large, bathrooms are exceptional. Common areas and banquet halls are by far the best in the area. Service is significantly better than most other hotels in the area. I would have liked the pool to be a more Las Vegas Atrium like but it is still very nice. Hotel is beautiful, but staff and policies are not. After driving 200 miles, reservations in hand, we arrived to find that our reservations were cancelled due to a power outage from previous days storms. Ok, we get that. What we don't get is why we weren't notified of this change prior to driving. They had our e-mail & phone number. The reservation clerk told us "some people were called" - what, high rollers? We were offered a chance to stay at the same rate within 30 days only, nothing for time lost, gas wasted, plans ruined. The casino was rockin' with machines going and power on. A shame they couldn't find a live power outlet to plug their phone or computer in to. We weren't after a killing in comps (still aren't), maybe a little empathy for our plight. The hotel is wonderful-we've stayed here before and we came back. However, if you go, don't count on your reservations to be solid and dependable. My wife & I made arrangements with jobs and meet-ups for this trip. Our schedules don't permit us coming back soon. We wont be back at all-there's other places to stay & gamble/vacation.
