A couple of miles short of where I-94 and I-69 meet, Michigan has located another one of their excellent rest stops. Westbound between Detroit and Kalamazoo, this rest area is clean, peaceful, offers an easy lane for slowing down off the highway and enough room to get back onto the highway with good visibility.
The building is the same as other MDOT rest areas I've seen with bathrooms, vending machines, a map of the local area, picnic tables, a dog walking area and some shady spots (depending on the angle of the Sun) for a brief snooze. Not too many spots for semis and RVs, but there is some room. I imagine it gets quite busy in the evenings and overnights.
It is only patrolled by state police as they pass by on the highway, so be aware of your surroundings and strangers who might approach.
