It was even still decorated from their relatives wedding a few weeks prior to us viewing it. However, upon actually using the place it was clearly cleaned immaculately for the family member. The huge beautiful windows were murky and had smudges all over them (A few of my wedding photos show this). The yellow jackets were a HUGE problem resulting in 2 guests being stung. You aren't allowed to use an outside caterer unless you pay them $2000 and the food had no flavor. They set out MOLDY cheese for our guests, which did get partially consumed before a bridesmaid noticed. They removed the appetizers and never said a word to my husband or me and never replaced it with anything! We paid over $300 for cheese, crackers, and veggies! They state in the contract that we can't take home leftovers due to Health Department codes, understandable, however, their kitchen staff took the leftovers home after clearing dinner up before our guests were even done eating. Their kitchen staff also stole desserts that we paid for from a separate vendor! No one is on site after dinner is cleaned up so if you have anything come up during the reception you have to contact them over the phone. Our DJ stated he didn't like the way the owner dictated how everything was set up and time frames so he has decided to no longer DJ at this venue. The next day we discovered trash in the room to get ready in that was obviously not left by us which means they didn't even thoroughly clean the room. We were so highly disappointed with this place. We worked hard to pay for this and it was not the dream wedding we both envisioned at all.

Lately you have to pay extra for this bread option. Note that in the past the pie came with the meal one night a week.. That ended some time ago and now you get a piece of sheet cake. Unfortunately, the expert pie crust does not extend to the homemade chicken pot pie. Marie Callender or Swanson's frozen chicken pot pie will be just as good for a lot less. Once I tasted the chicken pot pie, I decided to give Stockwell's a wide berth. At $10.50 I can do better a lot of places. However, on 6/19 I braked for a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. I was hungry, didn't feel like cooking and it sounded good. it did not include cranberry sauce, which is on my list of trimmings. Oh well. The gravy was so overly salted it ruined everything it touched - that means the mashed potatoes, the dressing, and the turkey. I mean REALLY over-salted. I salt my food, so I am not anti-salt. I'm not much of a cook, but had I turned out gravy like this, I would have tossed it in the trash and opened a can of store-bought gravy. There is no excuse for anyone serving anything this overly salted - much less a professional cook who is charging you good money. When I mentioned the salty gravy to a neighbor, she said she had heard others comment that Stockwell's over-salted their food. I called the next day and talked to an employee about the situation, asking for a partial refund or a no-charge replacement turkey-mashed potatoes-dressing-gravy the next time it was on the menu. The employee was sympathetic and took a message. I waited over 2 weeks to write this negative review, giving the owner lots of time to respond to my complaint and make it right. I like to support local businesses, but the businesses have to be worth supporting by delivering a good product or service. Anyone can make a mistake, but if you can't address the mistake.....

I was lucky enough to obtain a reservation in one of their fireplace suites and I am so happy that I did. The pictures on their website really does not do any justice, the rooms are so much nicer in person. Once we arrived, check-in was easy and quick. If you need a cart they have staff to assist you with your luggage to your room. Every staff person that we encountered was very nice and helpful. Please know that you can not take outside alcohol to your room(you will miss it on their website when booking) and considering I never received a confirmation email for my reservation. You can take a small personal cooler with only water, juice or sodas(trust me security will check it)! Once we got to our room it was so nice, spacious and clean. The bathroom came with a full bath with shower and jaquzzi tub and a half bath. We also went to two of their restaurants the 24/7 Cafe for breakfast and it was really good. We went to the Nibi for dinner and I have reveiwed that in a separate review. We will most definetly be going back to stay again.
