Nasty fecal matter behind the toilet on the wall. Years of build up and never properly cleaned. This is an ADA room. :(

My daughter and I were in town for a bowling tournament she was participating in and the hotel offered a discount for those in the tournament. We had planned on staying 3 nights but decided that 2 was 2 too many. The people were the best part of this experience. We weren't treated bad, is that a compliment? From me it is. The reservationist was kind. I mentioned that I'm a disabled veteran who has an "emotional support bird" that travels with me everywhere I go. Most people don't have a problem. He's quiet, neat, and most people don't even see him or know he's there. The VA hasn't passed legislation about intelligent birds being "service animals", though my bird helps me in many ways to cope with situations. Even so, I declare everywhere that he is technically just an "emotional support animal" and NOT a "service animal". That most hotels consider that a "pet". The man said it would be "no problem" that he would place me in a ADA compliant room where people bring service animals and that I would not be charged a "pet fee". I don't do confrontations well, so I was pleased to handle this so well over the phone. When we arrived, the receptionist was pleasant and kind. She was honest in not displaying some fake happiness within the lack-luster work space and it was greatly appreciated. She helped me to feel comfortable. The room was on the ground floor which was nice as they do not have an elevator and we travel with a bunch of gear. (cage, stand, bowling ball/s, food, etc.) The room appeared "OK" at first glance, but upon further inspection, we discovered a lot of issues that were pretty gross. I'm trained ex-military, so I know "clean". I've traveled around the world also, so I know "dirty". The room was "gross" by third world standards. I took pictures so you can see for yourself. As I was taking pictures, the room phone rang and it was the manager. She was explaining that it was written down that I had a "service animal" but that the lady saw me bring in a "bird". I walked the manager through the run-down of the conversation I had with the reservationist and I could hear and feel the tone from her as if I was telling a lie. She asked me if I booked online and I told her, "No." With a bit of a "tolerant" tone she explained that I wouldn't be charged a pet fee "this time" but that next time they would make note that it's a bird so it's a "pet" and there "is a pet fee". I thanked her and hung up a bit sick to my stomach that I had to thank her for the emotional/psychological "keel haul". The manager should have looked at the reservation and identified who had taken it, contacted that person before calling me and I would not have had to deal with that. After the call, I went back to my "inspection", taking photos of damage and filth so we would have evidence of it so as not to be charged for it. EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS. I walked up to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. Betty came out and she appeared curious but postured. I explained nicely that there were a few issues with the room that I wanted to point out so that we wouldn't be charged for it. I went down the images including the fecal build-up behind the toilet, in the corner, and under the toilet, dripping stuff down the wall, stains on the lamp shade (?), ripped chair, damaged and filthy carpet, scored flooring, missing parts of the toilet, bent refrigerator, etc.. I explained that it's understandable that housekeeping can get into a "routine" and feel like things are "clean enough" according to their personal standards and that most people probably don't complain. The manager offered a "thanks" and I walked away. She called the room when I got back and said she would like to refund $67 off of my 3-night stay but did not offer to have the room cleaned correctly nor another room that has been "properly cleaned". I took the discount. Moving in was a disaster. The only luggage trolly they had that carried hanging items was welded and the sharp welding had not even been ground down smooth, it snagged my finger, but whatever. THAT caught my attention. The wheels we wonky and would not roll straight. There was a sticker on one side that said, "PULL" and on the other side "PUSH". Tripe "PULL" side or pulled the "PUSH" side. Very frustrating. The red carpet photo was from the trolly surface.. gross. Tried to heat up coffee and the paper cup began to smoke. The rotating function stopped and began to burn the cup on the inside and out just above the coffee line. They replaced the microwave. Tried to get hot water from the sink. Let it run for 30 minutes and only got luke warm water. Knowing plumbing, I ran the tub to get more volume. 10 minutes to warm water, not hot. BEDS WERE ITCHY BOTH NIGHTS. Breakfast lady was sweet. Bulk steamed omlettes and mystery extruded sausage patties, if you're wanting protein options. Bleh. I've stayed in worse but at $105 a night (after the $67 refund, bowling and military discounts). Don't stay here.

Stay anywhere else. Air conditioning didn't work, staff not friendly, needed a crow bar to turn on the shower.

She would make an amazing manager and I genuinely hope that she gets recognized as an amazing asset to her team and truly should be considered to be the manager. Upon entering my room, there was urine stains on the toilet, trash all on the floor, beds not clean, and most disturbingly, c** stains on the floor and toilet. We went to the desk to ask for a new room. We were placed in 214. Unlocked the door with our room key, and to our UNPLEASANT SURPRISE, there were folks in the bed doing DRUGS and someone in the shower. We ran out to the front. We grabbed our stuff and asked for a refund. Jazz had to call Kayla for assistance. This is where things get worse. KAYLA the "manager" was the most rude, uncaring, unhelpful, and disrespectful manager I have ever had the displeasure to come into contact with. I want KAYLAS AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE, COMPLETE LACK OF EMPATHY, AND AWFUL CARE OF THIS PROPERTY TO BE INVESTIGATED. She asked "well what's wrong with the room we gave you?" As if we didn't explain it to her twice. She then asked why we wanted to leave, which makes absolutely no sense considering this place is UNSAFE due to lack of CONSIDERATION OF PRIVACY!!!!! We said, we don't want anyone walking into our room in the middle of the night. She said that would be impossible- well obviously it wasn't. She was also very rude to her assistant manager who was going the absolute best she could to help us. KAYLA should not have been disrespectful to Jazz at all. Jazz was the only good thing in that hotel. Kayla was absolutely awful and will steer any business they ever get away. Kayla made us jump through extra hoops to even get our refund. Which btw, we still haven't gotten. STEER AWAY!!! DO NOT COME HERE. MANAGEMENT: fire Kayla. For the sake of your business!!!! Jazz would be amazing manager.

Although we saw the reviews, we didn't expect it to be this terrible. Upon entering the hotel room, it smelled as if it hadn't been cleaned in a while. From reading the reviews prior to booking, I took it upon myself to bring cleaning supplies such as bathroom cleaner, disinfecting wipes and disinfecting spray. There were stains all over the carpet and chair. I started by wiping down all of the surfaces to which I found to be very dusty. I found a sharp (looks to be from A pocket knife) sitting on the night stand. The lamp did not work. I started spraying down the bathroom vanity, sink, shower/tub and toilet. There was hair and dust. I didn't grab a photo because I was super grossed out- but there was poop dried to the toilet seat. A toothbrush was behind the mirror- opening the closet we found a dusty shelf and a moldy kitchen sponge. The fan in the bathroom was covered in dust and hair and was impossible to clean. It's our fault for booking even with the reviews. The utter lack of sanitation/cleaning with it being such a popular area for sports families to stay is unsettling. My husband and son slept on an air mattress with blankets from home as they did not feel comfortable sleeping in the beds/sheets. The rest of our family drove back and forth from home for the tournament.

So I wandered around the lobby briefly, which is lovely & not attended- essentially no one was behind the counter. Then I heard one of my friends laugh & headed in that direction: the lounge is down a hallway, also to the right just past the coffee shop. The lounge also is lovely & offers a variety of different types of seating. I opted for my usual beverage of water & was pleased that it was served in a glass & not plastic. The menu is small, just one page: I ordered a Ruben with tater tots, of which 2 other ladies did as well but with fries. Mine was one of the first orders served. Hmmm, the bread looked like it had been on the grill too long, as it was rather dark in color As additional orders came out (there were 8 of us), which was fairly quickly, the bread of the other 2 Rubens were toasted golden brown! I did eat mine as served, but regretted it, as the taste of burnt bread lingered for quite a few hours. The grease was also of issue sadly- way too much! I was constantly wiping my hands on a napkin, and I only ate half of my sandwich! For a cook to take a little bit of extra time to put the sandwich on something (paper product) to absorb excess oil off the sandwich upon removal from the grill could really make the difference Despite aforementioned, the sandwich had a good flavor: meat, sauerkraut & thousand Island dressing Well, knowing is half the battle, so next time I'll state desired specifics first. I'd give this first experience 2.5 stars
