At the Pub we had helpful servers and the food was delicious. We've been to many other McMenamins locations before but we never had breakfast at one before this visit! There's a lot of great variety on the breakfast menu, like benedicts, cheddar-jalapeno grits, and French toast. At dinner we loved trying out the location-specific menu items - the King Kalama burger and the Hawaii Five-O Pressed Sandwich, as well as the Saigon Kick Chicken Tenders. All was substantial and all was tasty. As always, we loved the dark, whimsical decor of the whole place. Every interaction we had with the folks at the front desk was a positive one. The lady that checked us in gave us the rundown on everything about the hotel (amenities), and she gave plenty of recommendations for us while we were in the area. The ladies that checked us out were also very helpful especially in that they let us cancel the last 2 nights without and fees or hassles. This hotel is rather old and outdated. My room didn't have the best scent, there wasn't any body wash in the bathroom, and the key cards could easily become demagnetized. Some tips: Take advantage of the complementary breakfast. It starts around 6am and lasts a few hours. And remember to bring body wash Again, for what it is, it's not a bad budget hotel. It's just outdated. The room was decent, although the walls are a little on the thin side because we could clearly distinguish a man's heated conversation next door, so I asked for a new room at a quieter section of the building and they obliged with no issues. The upstairs corridor's floor is quite squeaking in sections, so that should be addressed. Also, they recently did some remodeling and painting, but they are not done in my opinion. For example, the bathroom door & trim were recently painted, however the original rusty door hinges were left, so it looks not complete or some would argue tacky. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful, especially for when she designated a new room. I had a quick breakfast, which comes with your stay, and it was pretty good, although I only had wheat toast, yogurt, and black coffee. They all good, especially the coffee. There's plenty of parking and access the Interstate 5.

Unlocked the door with our room key, and to our UNPLEASANT SURPRISE, there were folks in the bed doing DRUGS and someone in the shower. We ran out to the front. We grabbed our stuff and asked for a refund. Jazz had to call Kayla for assistance. This is where things get worse. He denied any compensation for our troubles and we decided to drive back home because this place was terrible!!!!!!
