Staff informed us that the park is now owned by the Port of Woodland. Site 55 was gravel and it was level and gave us plenty of room for our truck and trailer. Checked out the upstairs club room and shot a round of pool. There was no one else in the room. Tried my luck fishing on the beach just below the park. No bites during the two days we were there. Obviously the fish didn't care for the coon shrimp offerings. Park is quiet and kept very clean, pool was open but we didn't use it. There is also a horseshoe pit and basketball hoop that we didn't use either. Will return again since it's so close to home and the location on the river can't be beat.

An easy well flattened path, it takes an average of 25 min to complete. The South Fork Rock Creek is shallow in the spring and summer, perfect for the pups to cool off and sniff around. The trail itself is a figure eight, with a shorter loop (Springboard Loop) that can be done without adding the larger loop (Dooley Spur Loop). Part of the Dooley Spur Loop follow an old railroad grade.

The PNW environment is beautiful and restorative, and the resort has multiple hiking trails that let you see the entire mountain (though fair warning that many are rigorous hikes and occasionally not conducive to doing them naked. Bring water and bug spray!) The actual resort area is incredible, with a pool, spa, sauna, and clubhouse full of board games, billiards, darts, and other amenities, all open 24/7. There's so much to do, and the community is friendly and full of people of all ages. I won several medals at SportFest and am absolutely going back next year! My one advice is to bring your own food and aloe vera, those were the two facets of my trip I wished I'd been a little more prepared. While it lives up to the name "resort," it is also very much a campsite and it will feel like you are either camping or RVing during your time there. But that's no reason not to visit, it's a wonderful experience and I'll absolutely be coming back!

We are on a summer nudist resort trip. Our first nudist stop in Oregon was Mountaindale Sun Resort…read more(MSR) outside of Portland. This small resort is located in the mountains. They warn everyone that there is a pretty steep 12 degree grade/incline on the entry road so anyone pulling an RV use caution. But once up there, the setting is gorgeously wooded & rustic. It's very tranquil...it feels like a retreat! The resort doesn't have hotels/rooms/cabins (called "bunkies" in the NW) for rent. They recently did get an RV they rent out and may get more options in the future. There are several areas to tent (no elec or water) and plentiful RV spots. We were lucky that we were friends with a member and were invited to stay at her place. It felt like we were sleeping in a tree house the way it was nestled into the mountain. The resort has a clean large pool, an indoor hot tub, sauna, sports court, rec hall, and a gaming room with ping pong and billiards pool tables. People were reading and relaxing in the outside common areas, scattered between the shaded tree-lined perimeter and the colorful gardens. Bathrooms and shower areas were large & clean. There was a laundry area but we didn't notice a common kitchen area for guest use like the other resorts we've been to so far. They did have a few snacks & ice cream for sale, as well as a little "merch" area. The crown jewel of this resort is their trails! They have many volunteers who maintain them. They are very proud of them...as they should be. The entire resort is run via a co-op of volunteers, and most work gets done by the members. The "host" (front desk guy) was very helpful. We arrived the day of their annual board meeting so we felt lucky to meet so many of the "movers & shakers" there - especially a few of the board members! The day included a small local band & a BBQ dinner. The newly renovated rec hall made for a great place for the dinner & social area. We made new friends who invited us for drinks & dessert (and fabulous conversation) that night. It was a great day. MSR is trying to amp up their marketing & activities to boost interest and memberships. A newer event, Sports Fest, had concluded a couple weeks before we arrived & was a huge success. It offered something for everyone - from pickleball clinics & tourneys to a fun poker run through the woods. Bummed we missed it but it'll be an annual event. Check it out if you're on this side of the country next July! They used to have a Trail Run challenge up the mountain side & are discussing bringing it back. A few other things to know: *It's clothing optional except in the pool & hot tub. Most everyone was nude while we were there. *There is a strict no photo policy (stickers are provided/required over your phone cameras). We did get permission from leadership to take these photos and help spread the word about this beautiful resort. *Rates are affordable. *No cell phone service there but WiFi worked well. The resort's motto is "Just Wear A Smile". This & other cute signs were posted to help encourage nudity. It is a good deal colder, especially in the evenings, than FL where we are from so of course there's a bit more leeway (and necessity) regarding clothes. We loved the vibe & the people at MSR & will definitely be back!

From the outside, it's as close to a vegas vibe you can get from a WA native casino. It's unfortunate that's the ONLY positive. My entire block goes down. An attendant was quick to respond.. then he presses the cashout button triggering a handbag. They said wait. I smoke.. this place is 95% non-smoking. You wait. And they did. I took it as a sign to not to play and threw my player card away. Bad juju. Try again tomorrow.

We like to travel with our dogs so I always look for places that allow pets. The Lewis River Inn…read moredoesn't just allow pets, they welcome them. There was a water and food dish in the bathroom area. This came as a very pleasant surprise. We always travel with our own but it is great to know that if we had forgotten, they had us covered. The recliner also had a seat cover just like we have at home to protect it from dog hair. Not all rooms are pet friendly so keep that in mind. I would have loved to have had a river view but bringing my dogs was more important. I am a birder and enjoyed sitting on the guest patio anytime I could to watch the birds at the feeder, in the flower bed, in the trees, or even in the river. I recorded 13 species of birds in under 30 minutes while just sitting in one spot. The rooms are big and clean. We had a 2 queen pet friendly room because our 14yo son was with us as well. The breakfast is very nice. They have a waffle maker, oatmeal, fruit, pastries, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, etc...

The room was well appointed, bed was comfy. Bathroom in my room was a nice surprise and welcomed. A fridge in the hallway kept my leftovers and bike water bottles chilled. I was arriving in Vernonia around dinner time and leaving the next morning to bike the Banks Vernonia Trail. The House was very conveniently situated and affordable. If I return to the area I would definitely stay here again.

He even called her sir. When we needed help finding our yurt, he explained that it should be in the email. We did not have service yet so we asked for the wifi. He said "Good luck". While he was not completely helpful, we ended up getting to our yurt. Once we got there, there were dead ants on the comforter at the feet of the bed.
