This is a great campground. Good location. Nice sites. Very close to the Sandy River where you can swim and play on your float toys. It's a quiet park with quite a few residents living there. We will definitely stay here again.

Our "too poor for this lot" set up.

Sandy Riverfront RV Resort is a classicist (not classic) parking lot run but Oregon's own Kampground Karen. After we checked in after hours, we drove up to our site and set up. Karen (I don't know what her name actually is) then rolled up on her golf cart to inform us that "this is a private campground. You must have sewer, water, and electrical hookups to stay here." No "hi, how are you?" Just an accusatory "you must be too poor to stay here". After informing Karen that we did, in fact, have the required hookups she immediately tried to find another reason to not let us stay- you aren't allowed to sleep in your car here! We have a strict rule about that. Let me back up and tell you that we are traveling in a 2018 Ram Promaster converted by Roadtrek (Karen looked very confused about the fact that this quality piece of machinery could possibly have hookups) and a 2009 Honda Element that I sleep in on trips. Despite Karen's insistence that we not sleep in the bed we've traveled all over the country in, I went ahead and did it anyway because come on lady- it doesn't hurt anybody that I have an awesome conversion in the back of my car. We were otherwise quiet and respectful of the area, but felt incredibly unwelcome and on edge the entire time. None of these rules are written down. Karen just decides to make them up if you look poor. We probably won't be returning to this expensive parking lot when there are so many other better places in the area. The only positive things I can say about this place is that it had good access to restaurants and the lake. Otherwise, having a lady on a golf cart constantly check on what we were doing under the guise of "security" was creepy and un-inviting. I really wish this was a better place because we would have visited more often as we travel through the area frequently.

    Lovely River Views!

Location is everything and Sandy Riverfront RV Resort certainly checks a lot of boxes! As you can see from the photos the views here are fantastic! The manager here is darling as is the resident Bulldog mascot. There are friendly folks all around this park. The park sits relatively close to train tracks but we like to hear the sounds of the trains. We would recommend Sandy Riverfront RV Park and we will return. Our only regret was that there was no availability for a longer stay. Happy New Year!

Beautiful and well kept RV park in Troutdale. Everything was spotless including the showers we used every morning. For the number of RV's in this park it was extremely quiet. It looks as if many of the spots are filled by permanent residents. We were lucky to get a site on the river for our 3 nights there. Hope to come back soon as it's only 10 minutes from my son and his family.

Our view as you drive in to town.

Nice RV park. A bit too strict on the rules but understandable to some degree with all that's going on in portland OR area.

There used to be a community room, it's now the owners "mancave". He has a sticker on the office window that says he accepts credit cards, that's a lie. This guy is stuck in the 80's and only accepts paper checks. The old owner just ran our card for rent, it was super convenient. My neighbor had a tree limb fall on his trailer during a storm, the owner didn't want to contact insurance to properly take care of the issue. Instead he tries to make deals like a used car salesman. (I have a feeling that's going to come back to bite him, karma does that) There used to be professional landscapers to take care of the park, now a teenager does it and doesn't even bag the grass. Not to mention the owner, Chip went to do some weed eating because he's so cheap, the idiot broke my truck window with a rock while doing so. He also threatened to kick me out because I used a blower to clean up his grass mess. The grass was being tracked everywhere! So we did move. Best decision I've made in a long time. The fellow longterm campers now call the park "Hitler's camp". I know a bit dramatic but he does walk around the park 24/7 and pretends to be your friend, then dictates and tries to tell you what to do. The way I see it, he just has a big case of little man syndrome. It's like owning a bar and also drinking in it on a nightly basis. Just something you shouldn't do. People that have been here for a long time are leaving solely because of the new owner. I can't reccomend NOT staying here enough, seriously. Fairview or sandy river rv park would be my recomendation if you need to be on the east side.

They had "one spot left" so we took it. It was about 20 min away from my Nephew's house in Beaverton, but we needed a spot and it was late and Yelp reviews were positive. We had no expectations so when we arrived (late), we were pleased by the nice touches at the managers office. Flowers, clear signage, and our packet on the door. Our pull through site was easy to find and easy to access. We were under a big light which provided great light for our domino game. But we did have to cover up our ceiling vents at night to sleep. It wasn't too big a deal. Since we were an end unit we had a bit more lawn to relax on. Rather than moving closer to my nephews house for night 2 we asked to extend here for a second night. They made the accommodation for us by redirecting the next nights guest to a different slip. Very kind. We met some of the neighbors. And we took advantage of the washers and dryers and showers. We were able to show up at my nephews house all clean for his family. I asked the "manager" at the office if the "owner" owned multiple RV parks. Turns out she was the owner's wife. This was their only RV Park. They started it from scratch. Her husband bought an old defunct place on the river and over time turned it into a super clean, very well run RV park. The Stalls look a little close in pictures but there was plenty of room and everyone gets lawn. And, they're on the Tualatin River. I was told that "Tualatin" means "slow moving water" or something close in the Native American language. Overall a great stay. Loved the husband - wife ownership. And the fact they have had the same maintenance and groundskeeper since the beginning. That shows "good people". Definitely Recommended.

I see a lot of sour grapes writing reviews here, and that usually means the people writing them do not have their affairs in order or the required stuff needed to stay short- or long-term in an established community. My experience with Rolling Hills has been extraordinary; the manager, Anne, has been extremely helpful and informative from Day One of my inquiry process- which was stressful because I was moving on short notice from across the country to take on a new position and role in my company - so almost everything was new! I traveled through and arrived here during the worst weather the West and the Portland area has seen in decades and sustained some weather-related damage on my trip up. Anne has provided me with shopping, community, repair, neighborhood, and other valuable information - and everyone I have spoken with has nothing but kind and supportive things to say about Rolling Hills and the management as well. I am NOT an easy person to please, so when someone cares about their job AND their community and stands out as going above and beyond, I am ALWAYS happy to provide that feedback. We always get the negative side - people love to complain. But the positive information is FAR more important!

I camped in one of the six tent spots, and it was really beautiful. It was heavily shaded, and basically right on the banks of the Columbia River. The park is popular for cyclists like myself because it is situated near the end of the Willamette Valley Bike Trail, a 135 mile scenic route. I rode like a few percent of it, and thought it was amazing. I will definitely be finishing that trail this year. The showers were free for registered campers, and were the closest thing to a real home shower I've experienced at any campground so far. I loved how the park was not too far from Portland, Salem, or the Columbia River Gorge. The park rangers were super helpful and informative. I had called with a bunch of questions after having a bad experience elsewhere, and a ranger reassured me they had "a tighter grip on things" at Champoeg, which seemed to be true. The only issue was that, around 3am, I woke up to what sounded like a rabid wolf. It literally sounded like I was for sure about to get eaten. I made a bunch of noise, but it didn't go away. I yelled to the other campers, "There's like, an angry dog outside my tent!?! This isn't anyone's dog, is it?" It turned out to be a raccoon with very labored breathing (along with two other raccoons who were breathing normally). I suspect maybe it had canine distemper. It was being aggressive towards me, specifically. I had to go sit in my car for a while till it left. I'm not sure whether this was because I had accidentally gotten sprayed by the agricultural fertilizer tractor on my way in, or because the camper next to me had left so much food out on her site (which she ended up putting away at 4am). There is a historic store in the park that sells blackberry sundaes that look amazing, but I wasn't able to make it in during their very limited spring hours (I think they closed at 2). Overall I loved everything except the raccoons and would absolutely camp here again.
