We try to stay here every time we come to Elko. It's right on Idaho Street, takes pets without a hassle. It's clean, comfortable and friendly. It's close to good food and the fairgrounds and convention center. The gents who run the place are fast, helpful and genuinely nice. I think it's a fair value and it's always my go to choice in Elko. Breakfast is basic (except for when they serve the warm and I think house made banana bread, mmmm) but gets the job done. If you want something more, head down the street to Toki Ona and fill up on the best breakfast in town. read more

Honestly, from day 1, it wasn't a pleasurable stay. I booked through hotels.com and nothing was mentioned of a pet fee. I ended up having to pay $20 per night, per pet (equating to an additional $280), on top of the $800 I paid for a week's stay. The room is old with new-ish accommodations. Furniture is banged up, and the curtains had holes in them. On top of that, on the second day of our stay, I lost a shoe under the bed. Lo and behold, looking under the bed revealed garbage and dust. An Amp drink from April was under the bed, so I can only assume it hadn't been swept under for months. There were other things I didn't get pictures of, like pee left on the underside of the toilet seat and a blanket of dust behind the headboard. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was dirty (my feet literally turned black walking on the floor), and the manager was unpleasant to talk to and didn't feel accommodating or welcoming at all. read more

We stayed here out of necessity. One truck in our group died coming off the freeway. We hitched a tow rope to another truck and trailer in our group and pulled it into the nearest hotel parking lot.. Quality Inn. Got the vehicles situated and went inside to get a couple of rooms. Front desk wasn't great, but I wasn't in the mood to argue. It actually seemed like 1 guy actually worked there and his friends were chilling with him. When I called later to complain that they double charged me I had to wait for a call back for his friend to get back, then was told I was wrong but then mysteriously the credit appeared on my account. Run down place. I am not a snob and a little wear and tear doesn't bother me. But 3 things did bother me enough to mention. 1. The shower was old and gross and worse had drainage problem so your feet were in a puddle during your shower. Icky. 2. The air conditioning did not cool, it was more of a fan. 3. Breakfast was nasty. Exact same food as other hotels. Waffles, sausage,biscuits and gravy. But it was all prepared with no care at all. Frozen sausages, cold gravy, and how do you mess up waffle batter? We slept and we're on our way. Then the trouble later when I noticed the double charge. If management reads this, I suggest you stay here for a night and then eat breakfast. Also, the dog run? C'mon. There was fast food garbage left on the table in our room from the previous occupants, coffee spilled down the cupboards, the sink was filthy, fridge was dirty and the couch in our room was disgusting and ready for the dump. Upon arrival of the hotel the exterior is a nice view... until you arrive inside it. When checking in I couldn't help but notice a strong musky smell and that was in the lobby. Also upon arriving in our room the wire mesh screen window was damaged and the shower drain plug took sometime to drain than what a normal shower would... didn't really bother me until I arrived in the "fitness" center and saw a treadmill that was out of order, a bike machine that's left leg peg broken and random items scattered through the small "studio" like fitness center. The bed looked decent until I inspected behind the bed sheets and actual bed itself and it was dirty as a MF bro... old dead skin sheddings from people who were here prior, on the headboard there was oil marks that were not cleaned from prior guests leaning on it and just a filthy presence in general. Lastly my final complaint and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.... The filter for my AC was FILTHY. People are breathing this in and I'm so glad I was able to catch it and sadly took the honor to clean it myself so my family and I could atleast have decent air quality in the room. We stayed here for 1 night and will be the very last night we ever stay at this hotel. Breakfast was mentioned to be available to guests at 6am... you can surely miss me coming that despite being free. Cmon.... This place has potential, but is it worth it? Not really. I'll take the Rodeway Inn down the street over this for a few reasons. I got 2 rooms here and while it wasn't horrible, I wouldn't call it great. -Lobby reaks of curry, badly. -Seemed the front desk clerk didn't really care to be there. To be honest the yelp reviews scared me a bit- our experience was great. Did the job for an overnight stay! The Beds were clean but the bathrooms were quite dirty, we didn't have a toilet paper holder and were left with a 1/4 of a roll and floor was dirty. Front Desk Staff wasn't super friendly and they aren't present at the counter, you have to call them using a phone but doors are wide open meaning anyone can walk in and out. I stayed here on 07/12/23 for one night. I would have walked out, but was told that the last day to cancel and receive a refund was the previous day. Carpeting was dirty, hotel smelled musty. Landscaping outside consisted of dried out weeds, which should have been a red flag. The room was dirty, sheets and bedding wrinkled and when I pulled off the torn mattress cover, there were some tiny dark things. They weren't moving so I didn't know if they were bedbugs or feces, or what. I actually ended up going to Walmart and buying Clorox wipes, a sleeping bag, pillow, and sheets. I have stayed here twice. The second visit was a big improvement from the first. I was trying to book a pet friendly room and someone else booked it at the same time. Sam helped me to still get a room or I maybe wasn't going to have anywhere to stay with my traveling cat. The staff was attentive and very good all around. The room was on the first floor so it was easier to get things moved in to set up for my pet. The room was very clean and nicely maintained. There is some deferred parking lot maintenance outside so it was nice the attention was given to the rooms. The earlier stay must have been understaffed due to shut down conditions. I am thankful Sam went out of his way for me and the room was so nice. read more

Pet friendly, which may explain the order that assaults you from the aroma of some kind of cleaner. Over the corse of the night the smell wafted into the room, which was as clean as one can be that is older and not updated. The curtains are not black out which was unfortunate. The bed reasonably comfortable, the a/c was loud but worked, the water was hot. I didn't eat but the breakfast looked like what you'd expect. The front desk clerk walked off to take his break in the middle of checking us in... one of the other staff wandered in 15 mins later and asked if we had been helped. Told him what happened - turns out the other guy went to eat lunch. None of the staff wore masks as mandated - essential with the high spread of Covid in Elko county. I made reservations to stay at Quality Inn and Suites in Elko, Nevada through Expedia on May 8th, 2023 for the dates of July 1st - 5th, 2023. On June 29th and 30th I made two separate calls to the hotel to confirm a late check in, in which I would be arriving between the hours of 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM on Sunday June 2nd, for a check-in on Saturday, June 1st. During both conversations, one with an unnamed male front desk assoc. (who I later realize is Jay) and one with an unnamed female front desk assoc., I was assured that it would not be a problem to check in at that time, and that the overnight front desk assoc. would be notified. I get to the lobby at 2:50 AM. I found no one present at the front desk. A sign on the front desk indicates that the receptionist has stepped away and it advises me to use the courtesy phone next to the sign to call "0". I attempt to dial "0" several times. I encounter a continuous busy signal. I called out with my voice (as there was a closed door behind the front desk) "Hello? Is anyone here?" a few times. After no success, I call the hotel phone number with my cell at exactly 3 AM, as my phone recorded the time. It rings, but no one answers. I then walk out of the hotel and back to my car to tell my family that no one was at the front desk and I wasn't sure what to do. After 5 minutes, My sister goes into the lobby and there's a young man by the name of Jay behind the desk who looks like he just woke up. My sister asks for him to check us in and he tells us that he can't, as it's past 3 AM. We weren't notified during previous calls that check-in time was only before 3AM, otherwise we would have tried to get there earlier. We ask him to please make an exception, as we did get there at 2:50 and he was not at the desk, and he says, " What you are asking me to do is illegal." He then tells us the manager is on vacation, he didn't know when the manager would be back, that he was a new employee, and the system wont let him check us in. He gives us an Email address to contact the manager, but refuses to tell us the manager's name. We scramble to find a new hotel and we're lucky that we found one with vacancy for the 4th of July holiday, albeit more expensive. That morning on July 2nd, I call the hotel back and Jay answers. I tell him I want a refund, as I had tried to check in before 3 AM. He said he could have the manager get me a refund for the last 3 days, but not the 1st day, and I'll need to call Expedia to do so. He told me the only way to get a refund for the 1st night was to talk to the manager myself, and that he should be back on July 5th. I wrote a polite Email to the Email address Jay provided explaining the situation. I call Expedia who requests the refund, but is no help with the first day. I call Choice Hotels (umbrella company) 4 times for the next 4 days. The first rep tells me they will have the GM call me, who never does. The last rep tells me Quality Inn in Elko is a franchise and there's nothing they can do for me. They were leading me on with all the talk about the GM calling me. I call Quality Inn several times in the next 2 weeks. It's always Jay who answers. On our last conversation, he says the manager (who is still on vacation on July 18th) checked the camera and saw that I arrived after 3AM, which I know for a fact to be incorrect. At this point, I know Jay is trying to save his job and that the manager will back him up and will not speak with me or answer in Email that I sent several times now. I'm so stressed over all of this, I finally decide to call my bank to file a dispute. I am waiting for the outcome, but I advise anyone who is looking into staying at Quality Inn and Suites in Elko Nevada or any Choice Hotel anywhere to please reconsider. Also, reconsider using Expedia as a middle-man. This was 3 weeks of a nightmare that I wouldn't wish on anyone. They are dishonest thieves with no accountability. read more

Ultimately, what's needed is met. Staff is very nice, beds are comfortable, water pressure is good, and breakfast is adequate. We had reserved a king bed. Upon arrival none were available and we were given 2 queens instead. One of the comforters had stains. Facility as a whole needs updates and maintenance. When I booked Quality Inn & Suites, I wasn't hoping for The Waldorf, just a night of rest on a road trip. When we left in the morning we were running on about two hours of sleep and a bad customer experience. As an optimist, let's start with the pros: Easily accessible from Interstate 80 Great curb appeal The maintenance staff was very friendly and busy de-icing and removing snow to keep guests safe Pet friendly Now the cons: $15 cash only, non refundable pet deposit. Cash only??? And it's not really a deposit if it's non-refundable, it's a pet fee. When I asked if there was anywhere specific we should take our dog for walks/bathroom breaks we were told, "I don't care. Just anywhere around the hotel". Only to accidentally stumble across a really nice, fenced in pet area behind the hotel. When we entered our room someone else's belongings were in it. When we were assigned to a new room we found that the TV didn't work. We were told they would fix it or put us in a new room, neither of which happened. You could hear EVERYTHING in this hotel. Every lobby conversation, every hallway conversation, every footfall, every door opening and closing, every other persons TV, EVERYTHING. The real kicker was checkout when I told the morning clerk about the TV incident as a courtesy for the next guest. Not only did he accuse me of breaking it, he would not check me out until he looked at the condition of the room because if we broke the TV, what else did we damage. Moral of the story, Elko has a lot of other places to stay. Pick one of those places. read more

I was debating this place vs Best Western and I decided to go with Quality Inn because they were pretty similarly priced and the room pictures were nicer for Quality Inn. Unfortunately, I wish I stayed elsewhere. The outside of this place is pretty shabby. There's a recliner that belongs in someone's living room outside on the sidewalk for crissakes. My husband spotted a window open with a window box fan balanced precariously on a bag of potatoes. I learned some of the rooms are living quarters. I appreciate the hardworking people that make this country turn, but the curb appeal was a big no for me. I went in the lobby, curious if early check in was an option. There must have been some sort of employee meeting going on? I just felt like I was interrupting something and no one greeted me so I used the bell at the desk. Turns out the check in person was just too busy with someone else to even pause and make eye contact and let me know she'd be right with me. When I finally checked in, the receptionist was loud, abrupt, and even tried to talk me out of the king room I bought because a lot of rooms were waiting to be cleaned. There is no elevator in the place, so we lugged our furniture up the dirtiest carpet stairs I've ever seen to our room. Once we got into the room, we were underwhelmed by the state of the furniture. Thank god the ac worked! I found multiple hairs that don't belong to me on the floor, but after a hot shower I was able to relax after a long day of driving. BIG COMPLAINT: The water that came out of the sink was cloudy so I had to use the shower faucet to get water for my dog. And speaking of my doggo, there wasn't much dog friendly amenities to speak of. Some reviews spoke of doggy bags and treats but I was simply told their was a pet fee. And here's the truth: the dog run, that looks pristine and nice in the pics on the website, is overrun with weeds, cigarette butts, busted up furniture, and the poop from all the pet owners who didn't clean up after their pets. There's a park a mile or so away that's really nice, if you make the decision to stay at this place, I'd go there for your dog's potty needs. Suffice to say, we will be staying somewhere else next time we're in Elko. I wish that I'd read a honest, thorough review like the one I'm leaving now and saved myself a fairly sketch evening. I stopped here on my drive from the Bay Area to Tennesee. The front desk lady was warm and friendly. In the lobby there is a hot cocoa, coffee and tea stand which was nice because most hotels and motels I've ever stayed at while traveling don't offer that. My room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, I slept great!! I wasn't expecting such a comfy bed. They also have cable rv with lots of channels. The free continental breakfast was great as well. They offered waffles, toast, bagels, pastries, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, sausage, hard boiled eggs that were made fresh this morning, and I can't remember what else was offered but I liked that the selection offered hard boiled eggs. You do get to your room from the inside of the motel but very easy to get to all rooms as it's not a big motel. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

It's not huge but it's attached to the hotel and it's big enough to play fetch with my labs. This hotel is the worse. They have long time junkies as residents living there that loiter in the hallways, call the cops for TV being too loud and a baby crying. When I tried to check out 2 days early due to these issues, they refused to refund me my money and told me it was my problem not there's. The male hotel staff members had what looked like prostitutes coming in and out of there personal quarters. It is not a place that I would reccommend for anyone with children. When I got upset about them refusing to return my money for the 2 days not being used the hotel front desk clerk made rude and degrading comments to me in front of my fiance which set him off. DO NOT STAY HERE They will over charge you, wrongfully charge you! My fiancé and I are from California. He got a job in the drilling industry out in Elko. We would stay there for 2 weeks at a time and then go home on the off week. We stayed there about 4 times so in total that's about 2 months worth's of stay. Everything was always fine until our last stay. We got wrongfully charged a smoking fee. We don't smoke, haven't ever smoked, will never smoke. We left the room as clean as possible given we were in there for 2 weeks. Fiancé works on a drill rig so naturally he comes back completely filthy. They mistook his work dirt for cigarette ashes and charged us a smoking fee (not to mention if you smoke in a room it will reek smelling like smoke) our room obviously did not smell like smoke because we did not smoke in the room. So they wasted their time, energy and resources tearing the room apart because they mistook his dirt for cigarette ashes. We called to dispute it and they wouldn't give us a refund. When trying to get a hold of the manager, he so conveniently was never around to talk to us about it. Since then we have not returned to Elko as we are now back in California and have been for about 3 months now. I feel that I have no choice but to write a review. How else are you supposed to be able to prove you didn't smoke in the room? You can't. Came here, first thing they did is give me a card for a room, well it didn't work so we got another one and that one key card opened an already occupied room, which was bizarre because thats never happened before, it was mid day and there were people still sleeping. After our third try we got our room and it wasn't so bad it was clean and good, just no pool and a good enough gym. There is no water fountain and no water provided at breakfast. The faucet was one of those ones that is a half inch off the basin and it barely runs. I had to brush my teeth in the bath. Very Dog Friendly!! And nice size area for dogs to use the restroom. They don't have a dog size or limit which is so great for people traveling with pets. Rooms are dirty, doesn't looked like they are thourougly cleaned with each guest. Carpet throughout the hotel is old and dirty. The pillowcase had old lipstick on it, window seat had dog hair all over so it wasn't vacuumed well, and it felt like we were getting bit by something when lying in bed. The breakfast is nice, minus the other guest coming to breakfast barefoot, but the place needs a upgrade and it could be a great spot. Also, staff isn't at the desk 24/7. read more

Stayed here twice, the caretakers seem to be living on the property which is okay, but I always had to use the curtesy phone and no one was ever at the desk. When I arrived on the property there were already several people waiting for someone to come to the desk to check in. The clerk then get me a key to someone's room which was awkward, then we had no towels in our room! When we called the front desk the phone rang and rang. We went downstairs and used the curtesy phone and no one picked up. It was sad we weren't able to take a hot shower after a long day of traveling. The first time breakfast was awesome. This Quality Inn is really an Econo Inn with higher prices. The room was so small that you had to be careful not to run into furnishings. The room wasn't clean, it was outdated, the sheets were very thin and showing lots of use. The people who work there are very nice but the building is really showing its age. I won't be back in the area but if I do find myself in the area I will find another hotel. read more

My girlfriend and I stayed here on a road trip back to California from Pennsylvania. Despite the fact that we stayed at two other motels owned and operated by the same parent company (Choice Hotels), this was the best by far, especially considering price and value. The front office clerks were kind and attentive, the room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, and the free breakfast had a great selection of items that deviate from the standard fare (i.e. carbs). I can't say enough good about this location. I would definitely stay again. read more
