They have mandated to wear face mask but not even the owner is wearing a face mask and also few customers coming in.

They have a notice in front of the shop saying face mask is required but there are lot mor customers coming in without face mask and also the owner is not wearing himself. The service is okay as usual.

Excellent Cinnamon-Clove tea ordered for us on request from Cyprus! This stuff is delicious, addictive and healthy!

I was so impressed and they always do it with a smile and "thank you beta." Feels like I went to my neighborhood market in India.

Luckily, there was no line, so I was able to order right away. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are really nice. If I hadn't been on the road, I probably would have stayed and hung out a little longer, but I ended up getting takeout instead. The Tex-Czech sausage was one of the most delicious sausages I've had at a BBQ restaurant. I absolutely loved the melted cheese inside the sausage. The brisket also hit the spot, and the sauce was amazing. My only wish, or small complaint, is the portion size. It feels like shrinkflation may be part of it, and it's definitely not cheap. But for a once-in-a-while treat, Micklethwait is absolutely worth it.

This spot was a standout on our Austin BBQ tour and completely lived up to the hype. The brisket and sausage were both incredible, but the brisket especially stole the show. It was easily my favorite in Austin. The bark had the perfect texture and flavor, while the meat itself stayed unbelievably juicy and tender. Every bite was exactly what you hope for when you think of great Texas BBQ. The sausage was just as impressive, packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. You can tell there's real attention to detail here! If you're putting together a BBQ tour in Austin, this place deserves a spot on your list. Part of me wants to gatekeep it, but it's just too good not to recommend!!

But unfortunately the BBQ, which should be the star of the show, just didn't quite hit the mark for me. I came in hoping to try one of their lunch specials, only to find out they had recently discontinued them. I almost left but the staff kindly honored the deal anyway, which definitely turned things around in the moment. I ordered the chopped beef sandwich with garlic parmesan fries. While the food wasn't bad, it lacked the depth of flavor I expect from Central Texas BBQ. Even with sauce it didn't deliver that rich smokiness or bold seasoning I'm used to. That said, maybe I just chose the wrong dish. Their menu does have some intriguing options like crispy duck, ribs, an elk burger, and a full bar. I might give them another try during happy hour or if I'm nearby, but I wouldn't make a special trip just for the BBQ.

I'm partial to baby back over spare ribs. Brisket was decent. Fatty slices were much better than the lean. Sausages were a star. Both were moist and great amount of fat. Pickles and red onion were a nice touch. Overall, a different spot than the norm and worth a visit. Prices are by the half pound and generous.

There are chips and salsa available as well. The tortillas are not of the home made variety. The prices are fair for the area and they do have Pepsi fountain drinks. Being that there's also a store portion there's plenty of other drinks too. The serve was fast and there are a few tables to eat there. As for the meat market they have everything you could want. I am partial to the beef for fajitas. Many of the Mexican wares and candies are available. They also have a variety of aguas frescas and churros. Then I worked my way to the cafe/kitchen. I ordered 2 beef tacos. My Spanish is very limited. The sweet woman helping me spoke zero English. There were a lot of outside workers enjoying their lunch. I ended up with 2 papusas. Not sure of the meat filling- looked like chicken. (LOL), then a gentleman spoke to me and this time I got 2 beef fajita tacos on nice fresh corn tortillas. I kept the papusas too. They offered refrigerated cases of soda pop including Jaritos and juices, they also had large containers of several flavors of Agua Fresca of which I ordered a Grande Mango flavor. You could get your beverage with milk added as well. Probably seating for 25. No menu-once I moved up in line I could not only smell but I could see the steam tables which faced the staff and were loaded with food. There were a handful of things I didn't recognize. What I did recognize was beef fajitas, beef lingua, tripe, caldo de res, refried beans, Mexican rice, fresh tortillas. I sat down and opened the 2 beef tacos and ate one. It was really good and I was full so took the rest home. They sure don't skimp on the beef!!!! There were lots of diners coming and going. Most of them were getting combination plates. I'm going to have to figure that out next time. I had asked for a side of frijoles, but I was likely confused because I think the beans and rice only came with combination plates. Anyway, I enjoyed my taco and I'll definitely go back after I polish up my Spanish a bit !!!!
