Winnie (the owner I believe) has treated me terribly ever since I told her about the issues I am having with my gate. "Quality" Fence and Deck does not build a quality gate. The fence itself was built ok. There was some wood twisting which is understandable but the gate was built incorrectly and has caused it to bow excessively. The gate started to bow within a week and continues to get worse. The way they built the gate had a cross brace 2x4 with a break in the vertical 2x4 part of the gate frame. This gate was doomed to fail from the beginning. Winnie told me it was normal but after it kept getting worse and I persisted, she finally agreed to replace the gate. After a couple of months she finally had a crew come to replace the gate. When I arrived home from work, they had already removed the right section of the gate and were replacing it. I went inside and when I came out they said the were done. I noticed they had only replace the right side "the way I asked Winnie for the gate to be built, with the vertical 2x4 not having a break in it) They said I had to talk to Winnie about them coming back because they only brought enough material for one side. Winnie told me they would not be coming back because she only agreed to replace the left side (which is not true, she agreed to "replace the gate")
But even if that was true, her crew replaced the right side not the left. She then told me her crew said that I told them to replace the right side. If I had known they were only going to replace one side I would have chosen the left side as the left side was worse than the right. As it sits now my dogs can squeeze out in between the two gates because the left gate is so bowed that the pin will not line up with the receiver in the ground. She has told me that I am not a good person because I am asking for her to replace a gate that was built incorrectly.
We paid over six thousand dollars and all she has been talking about since is how much material costs went up since we signed a contract and how she didn't make as much money off of us as she had hoped. She is now trying to save more on costs by not standing by their product. I wish I would have paid a thousand dollars more for a more reputable company. Winnie keeps saying that the couple of my neighbors that also got fences installed haven't complained about their fences but they haven't seen anything like this happening to theirs. My neighbors both told me that if their gates were doing what mine is they would have called Winnie to fix it. Another neighbor in the nextdoor app whom I do not know mentioned my fence to tell her friends not to get a fence my Quality Fence and Deck because of how bad my gate looks and the company name is posted right there on that side.
