Their support staff was always friendly on the phone and would get me in touch with a tech the same day I called. On both occasions the technicians were professional, thorough, and explained things in an easy to understand manner. Not recommended. They installed a new hot water heater three years ago and it failed. They came out to replace it under warranty but charged me $2400 in labor. I had to have them return and redo the installation. They had numerous excuses for the poor installation. Beyond the cost, the quality of the work performed falls short of professional standards. * Multiple press-fit connections combined with SharkBite connectors within an 18-inch span * A missing cover at the bottom of the heater where the burner is located * An expansion tank that is not level, despite manufacturer guidance that it should be mounted vertically These concerns raise serious questions about the workmanship and adherence to industry best practices. read more

So this company came out to service my broiler. I was quoted a price for a new oil burner. Had them replace it in November 2022 and found out today that put a used one on and charged me for a new one. Never would use them and want everyone to know not to trust themthem. Sad to give a one star rating because we used them for our HVAC but after today's experience will be canceling our contract with them. Had a hot water install and it was terrible. We already had a quote but when there were issues with the actual installation, told my husband several Items would be an extra charge. They were at my house until after 7 pm because they couldn't get it right (although they were an hour late getting there with no apology). Lead tech even threatened to walk off the job because my husband refused to pay the extra charges (after we already had to pay HALF - $1490 for a 40 gallon tank - for them to even start) My husband is usually easy going so I called the office twice to complain and requested a callback that never came. I do not nor will I ever recommend. And almost $3k purchase that I'm now worried wasn't properly installed. Add: we have no hot water several hours later. QD replaced two gas furnaces, air conditioners and water heater ... also converting from atmospheric vent to power vent. Extensive job that required a large team to accomplish in two days. Very professional, explaining everything before, during and after installation. Township building inspector said that he's been impressed by their work. Before selecting QD, I did have to negotiate price after comparing their quote to several others but they were responsive. read more

In 2008 we needed our HVAC system replaced. QDI came highly recommended. The salesman that came to give the estimate claimed to be the owner. He sold us a ten thousand dollar three ton unit. This past may (2019) our unit died, we contacted a different HVAC company and the salesman showed us that the outside fan is a three ton unit, but the inside air handler unit is a two and a half ton unit this caused the air to not reach the second floor and the outside unit to run inefficiency causing our electric bill to be unnecessarily high. Lastly the salesman also told us, but did not put in writting that the yearly service was included, but when I called for the first service the woman that answered the phone actually laughed at me when I told her the service was included in the orginal price. Over the last 10 years we have given QDI three different opportunities to work with us on our geothermal heater and tankless water heater. We have found out each time that the technicians being sent are not qualified to do the work. After this last go round with our geothermal, we found out from a qualified technician from another company that QDI actually did damage to our heater instead of fixing it. I would never use this company again. They are overpriced and do not alert you ahead of time if the technician they are sending isn't qualified to do the work. we had 3 companies give us bids, to replace or hvac system. quality send charlie to our home and was the only one that made tests on our old system (23 years old) and show us how to improve the system and how a new furnace and ac unit would save us money. to be honest they were not the lowest bid, buy we felt good about quality. when the day came to do the work they were right on time.the installers calton and zack went over all the equipment with us before they took off the van. they keep us informed on every part of the install. they were neat and took pride in there work. when they finished they went over everything and answered all our questions. great company! read more

Cole and his crew were at my house on time even during the rain storm on Monday the 13th. They were very nice, quiet and professional, explain everything very well to me. Beware! They totally ripped us off! They told us we needed parts replaced on our heater that were very expensive and would take extensive time and labor to replace. They were only here for 20 minutes and after they left we looked up the parts on line and they only cost a few dollars! They charged us over $600. There should be a law against this kind of behavior! If you purchased a Quietside tank-less water heater from QDI (or any other firm) and have had issues please contact me. Be aware there was a total recall on these units because of performance and more importantly fire risks. My unit completely failed twice during, once in a period of less than 18 months. I needed a new heating system for my house and got three different, of the three this company I felt the most comfortable with. Everyone on their staff was extremely polite and didn't rush me at any parts of the process. The sales man tried to find the system that worked best for me, and did not pressure me into getting the most expensive system. The technicians were extremely knowledgeable, showing me what everything did and how it worked. Even though I went with the most baseline system, they still used high quietly parts and fittings. I had QDI do a tune up on my oil furnace last year. Overall, I wasn't thrilled with experience. I would say it was a 2.5 star experience. The weather was pretty warm last year, so I didn't even think about getting a tune up until early November (my fault for waiting a while.) After I made the appointment I got an email confirming my appointment and telling me the name of the technician that was going to visit. I always appreciate this kind of thing. My oil furnace was 40 years old. It had stopped working last March and was serviced by a company my home warranty sent (not QDI), and it made it though the rest of the winter. I was told by that technician he thought that I could get a few more years out of the furnace. I told the QDI technician Robert about this. Robert was very polite, on time, and professional. What I thought was kind of strange was that Robert was constantly communicating back and forth with his boss (maybe the owner) via text and phone calls about what was going on with my furnace. I was expecting the appointment to take 2 hours, but after 4 hours of cleaning, phone calls, and texts I knew this wasn't going to be a good outcome. Robert came upstairs to let me know that my furnace was beyond repair, and that his boss told him to condemn it. I have to say Robert seemed genuinely concerned and disappointed in the situation. Then I was told that I would have to pay double the fee because it took so long! So I was originally quoted a fee of $229 (this included a service agreement that I didn't actually want, but there was no option for a tune-up alone). I ended up paying over $400, and my furnace didn't work! I would have been fine with paying the original price, since he tried to perform his job the best he could. I was told that if I bought a new furnace through them, they would deduct this $400 from the price. I had a home warranty though, so I couldn't buy it though them even if I wanted to. I just had this feeling that during those 4 hours Robert's boss was telling him to do things that would drag out the service to make as much money off of us as possible, thinking we would feel obligated to buy our next furnace though them since I had already given them so much money. I ended up getting a new furnace thanks to my home warranty. But I still felt pretty cheated by the situation. I used a different company to service my new furance this year, and I was very pleased by the experience. I will not be using QDI again. read more

Called QDL at 1:30 pm, furnace pilot issue on a 25 year old unit. They were at my residence 3:00 pm, diagnosed the issue and had the unit up and running pumping heat by 6. Nice work, techs were awesome and guided me through the process. They tried everything to get it running before they had to replace $ piece. They even ran back to the shop to get some pieces they needed. Used my mailer coupon. Temperature will start to drop tomorrow so I wanted to make sure we had heat. Thank You. read more

Their techs are great but Bill, you MUST reconsider your pricing....I just found out that I paid $400 for something with my "preferred customer pricing" (as I maintain an annual contract with your company)...and the item that was installed, cost LOWES 89.00....... Sure - I agree everyone should make a dollar or two, but it isn't the first time I researched things you've provided, bring overpriced. We have dealt with QDI twice since we moved in to our new home last month. In both cases, workers were prompt and professional and explained our options clearly. The second time was this morning when we thought our heat wasn't working properly (turns out we just didn't understand how it worked...). We called and someone was at our house within fifteen minutes. I had a horrible experience with Quality Degree Inc. HVAC (QDI). Total bill for them to do a yearly maintenance service/cleaning (that I paid $290 for) on my oil furnace and replace 2 parts with a retail value of $73.00 was $860. The labor worked out to $790, $395/hour. I then found out the technician, Jason, was misleading about having to replace the electronic oil ignitor they charged $308 for. Retail value is less than $60. The electrodes were worn and needed to be replaced and Jason said the electronic oil ignitor caused them to wear. QDI charged $246.40 for the electrodes. The retail value is $13. Depending on where you buy them the prices for these parts range from $12.50 to $20 for the electrodes and $48 to $59 for the electronic oil ignitor. They marked up the electronic oil ignitor over 500% and the electrodes were marked up 1,800%. I emailed them about the electronic oil ignitor and the cost of the parts and Phil the Service Manager called me. He supported the technician regarding the electronic oil ignitor. He went into a long discussion on the parts about how they mark them up to cover the cost of labor and travel to and from my house and several other business related costs. Excuse me but there was already 2 hours of labor and the travel to and from my house built into the $290 I paid for the yearly maintenance service. Taking the burner out and cleaning and adjusting it is part of the service/cleaning so it took Jason about 5 minutes extra labor to replace the electrodes (which are connected to the burner) and they added $246.40 to the cost of the job. The electronic oil ignitor that did not need to be replaced only took about 5 minutes to replace and they added $308 to the cost of the job. That is $554.40 added to the cost of the job for 10 minutes work. They don't spell out the labor to make it harder to figure out what they are charging for it. They hide it in the cost of the parts. Phil told me to give him a figure to compensate me for my concerns (electronic oil ignitor and balance of service agreement) and we both go our separate ways. I gave him my proposal and after 18 days and 4 phone calls he still didn't have an answer except that the owner, Bill Henzler, and General Manager, Dan Cherrie, were looking into it. He told me to stop calling him. I called Dan 3 times over the next 7 days and received no response. Four days after my last phone call Dan sent me an email restating Phil's explanation regarding the cost of the parts but he didn't address the electronic oil ignitor that didn't need to be replaced. A couple of days later the owner, Bill, emailed me information from Beckett Corporation's website that proved my point the electronic oil ignitor didn't cause the problem with the electrodes, but they still won't concede they are wrong and refund me. I have an email from Beckett manufacturing that states the electronic oil ignitor will not wear the electrodes, which is what Jason said happened and it had to been replaced or the electrodes would wear out again. My recommendation to everyone is not to use QDI unless you like to be charged 500% to 2,000% markup on parts and get the run around when you question them. If you have a maintenance agreement with them they end up charging you double for the same work and double for travel to and from your house. If you add the costs up you have to include $15.60 for a fuel additive to get to $860. read more

Dropped the Ball! Requested service at 11pm at night. Was told I would hear from a technician that night about emergency service I needed at 7am the next morning. Never heard from the technician so I had no electrician that morning. They ended up not having anyone to assist us. Would have been able to find someone else, but no one called us. Can I leave a 0? Had this company out to do an install for me, they did a Great job. Signed up for an almost $300 service agreement paid monthly. Had some health problems wasnt able to respond to them when they tried to contact me about my credit card being declined for the monthly payments for about 2 months. Had Spinal Surgery, was in a lot of pain didnt get back to anyone. Called them today wanted to pay what was past due on the monthly service agreement, and get it reinstated. Spoke to Deb she told me because I didnt get in touch my only option was to pay for the year which I cannot financially do at this time. Spoke with the owner same story, I asked for mercy, said as a one time courtesy cant you reinstate the agreement? NO she said cannot do it, I explained my situation, apologized, she began to lecture me about how I need to "step it up" her exact words, its not like this company is the IRS, their a local hvac company. As a business owner myself I understand what she was saying about her policy but that she had no room for mercy or understanding is beyond belief in my opinion. As such I would not do any business with this company because if you slip just a little this is what will happen to you and their will be NO MERCY!
