Moved to Park Slope pretty recently, so I've been looking for a good barber. Having thick Asian hair, it's been difficult to find someone who can "sculpt" my type of hair to a desired hair style. I've been to a barber/salon a couple blocks over and I haven't been exactly thrilled with how they cut my hair, especially for the price they charge. However, Quality Cuts did a pretty decent job and for a great price too! So far, they did better than the last unnamed barber/salon that I went to. However, my concern is that the barber who did my hair has no personality and kept talking in Russian with the other stylist (and laughing through their conversations). I don't need to necessarily talk to the barber during my haircut, but having a relationship and trust with your barber is important. There was no "thank you" or "please come back", even after leaving a great tip and giving compliments! Not quite sure if I'll be back. While I've had a decent haircut for the price, it just wasn't a welcoming environment. But I guess if you just want a quick cut and be out the door, the barbers can do their job. read more

Love this place. Both of my son's get their haircut here. There are several similar places in Park Slope & they all seem to have the same concept. Quick, walk in, reasonably priced barber shops. This one has multiple big screen TVs playing sports (no volume...which is great for a mom chilling on one of the comfy waiting chairs). I've decided to never come back here and I want to warn others about my experience. - If you want to support an anti-vax business, come here. Eddie likes to talk to his customers about how it's a hoax. - If you want to be treated poorly, come here. He has been a barber for over 20 years, and it shows in his skill. I wasn't very clear in what I wanted, but Isak knew immediately what I was trying to say. If you care about your hair, Stan is the man to go to! Stan was very down to earth but most importantly was very skilled with the clippers. It has been a while since I have gotten a good haircut, so I told Stan what I wanted and showed him pictures of myself with a haircut I liked. My hair was getting really scruffy and messy. I don't have a dedicated barber that I go to so my girlfriend took to yelp to find something for me. Quality Cuts is walk-in only so it was perfect for us as I just needed to get up and go. When I walked in I was seated immediately. Edward, one of the barbers, asked me what I wanted and was able to work with little direction. I wasn't sure myself what exactly what I wanted, just that I needed my length on top cleaned up and the sides shaved, as well as a beard from. My only instruction was "do what you think will be best." It came out perfect. Not only was there an impressive attention to detail, but I was given instructions on how to maintain my hair and recommended a product I was able to buy right there in the shop. Isak took a look at a photo and was able to do it better than I had before. The shop is clean, comfortable and centrally located near metered parking and subway. Got a terrible haircut by this lazy, apathetic woman. It took less than 5 minutes and was combed back to hide it. I went home and showered and saw it was an uneven, awful mess. The guy cutting my hair look like an older Russian guy keep on texting and looking at the cell phone instead of paying attention to the customer. Also every 5 minutes need a cigarette break. My 'go to' barbershop when I'm looking a bit raggedy.. Started growing g a beard, and flying out on vaca tommorrow, it was time to get on point. Edward's been cutting my hair way over a year now, and has never let me down. I usually just sit down, tell him I want it shorter/longer than usual, and let him call the shots. He takes his time, and dillegently goes to work using scissors, buzzers, razors, hot shave cream, and finishing products, if you want them. There are a few other barbers here too, just as detail oriented. Meaning, your whole day won't be burned waiting to get in a chair even on the busiest days. Besides the staff being a draw, the long hours, super convenient location - right upstairs at the 7th Avenue F-G Subway, complimentary beverages, multiple flatscreens, and plenty of great food joints within steps, hard to ask for more. Today, along with the cut, I had Edward trim eyebrows, ears, trim & shapeup the beard too..
