I have been going to Quality Alterations for all my alteration needs and my family/friends have also started coming here. The most important alteration I came here for was for my wedding dress (married 09/21/19) and Ekram (the owner) did a fantastic job. My dress is super detailed and I needed the length to be shortened in the front so this was no easy feat! I also asked her to add bustles to the dress. I came in for my first fitting to make sure we liked the length before she cut the dress as well as where we should add the bustles. At my final fitting, she added extra details to the dress to hide any stitching to it to make sure it was perfect, I couldn't even tell it was altered! It was absolutely beautiful from the length to the bustles, the work done was amazing. If you are looking for a place to get your dream dress or any type of clothing altered at a reasonable price, I recommend Ekram and her team 100%. Thank you Ekram for making sure my dress was perfect!

Discovered this place while working in Evanston, and started by bringing in dresses and pants for work (the cheap ones you get at H&M, then I would get them tailored like a glove to last me forever). Then when the time came to get married, even though I lived and worked in Chicago, I knew who to trust with my wedding dress, and did all my fittings and alterations at Quality Alterations. The team is AMAZING. The prices are VERY fair. All timeline goals were met, including an extra alteration I decided on once I got home. Such attention to detail--they know exactly what they're doing! They even helped create a bustle (my dress didn't have one) and taught my sister how to do it for the big day (we settled on a bustle that went all the way to the waist, which I had never seen before but it kept the dress shape truer and more natural). We even did a few experimentations with hair, veil, and accessories. Can't wait to go back, though it will be more a much simpler fair!

I needed to have my civil wedding dress altered in a very short time back in January. I was glad that Quality Alterations was able to fix my dress in such a short period of time. Now, I came back to have them alter my reception wedding dress. I can't say how happy I am with their work on both dresses. Everyone there is so kind and helpful. With her infectious smile, Ekram goes out of her way to give a bride like me a stress free experience. She made sure I was happy with all the adjustment and alterations made. A great business who really cares about their customers is a place I will gladly give 5 stars to. :)

Because of my short legs and long torso, "regular length" pants usually seem to have the best overall fit for me, but I end up having to have them hemmed. I hadn't had much tailored since moving to Evanston, so I was in desperate need of finding a good shop nearby. The ladies at Quality Alterations were very sweet, and the woman measuring me took her time to make sure she got everything pinned correctly ... even on a pair of particularly challenging dress pants with a slight boot cut. When I picked up my alterations, my only concern was some messy stitching on a pair of jeans (see pic). To be honest, this was the first time I've had denim tailored, so I'm not sure if this is the norm for thicker material? Since I was so happy with everything else and the jeans are for casual wear, I wasn't concerned enough to ask about the stitching. I was quoted a little over a week for two hems, but was pleasantly surprised to receive a call that my pants were ready days early. Price was a reasonable $12 for the jeans and $15 for the dress slacks; I asked about another pair of wool dress slacks with lining and was quoted $20, which seemed a bit high. Parking in the area can be rough during the busiest of hours downtown, but during off times, there's free street parking (near the park), and metered parking up and down the street in front of the shop.

I also had some quality concerns. They charge top dollar for alterations but I didn't feel like the quality was in line with the price.

It was both too much fabric, and weird pulling on the center seam. Stitch N Ready not only turned around the alteration in effectively a day (picked up next business day), but it lays even better than expected. SO happy and appreciative for their service.

Came here to get a dress altered and overall the actual alteration work was done well. I needed the…read moredress taken in slightly around the bust and waist area and it cost me $90. The dress fit perfectly afterward and they completed it within a week, earlier than the pickup date I had asked for. The main issue for me was the organization during pickup. I received a text saying my dress was ready, but when I arrived they brought out a completely different piece of clothing even after I clearly described my dress. Turns out they had mixed up the name tags between my dress and someone else's. I ended up going to the back with them and immediately spotted my dress myself. I pointed it out and they asked if I was sure it was mine, which was a little strange. Then they asked me to try it on. At first I thought they just wanted to confirm the alterations looked right, but it turned out they wanted to see if it fit me to determine whether it was actually my dress. Thankfully it fit like a glove. Even after that, they still seemed unsure so I showed Yelp messages I had previously sent with photos of the dress, along with my receipt and even how much I paid. I usually throw receipts away, so thank goodness I still had it. After confirming in multiple different ways, they finally let me take my dress home. Another woman was also there picking up clothing after receiving a text notification and they were struggling to locate her item too, so it didn't seem like an isolated issue. Overall, I think the tailoring work itself is solid, but the shop felt pretty disorganized. The guy working there did apologize before I left, which I appreciated, but the whole process of having to repeatedly prove the dress was mine was definitely frustrating.
