When he finished his diagnosis, he quoted me $400-$500 to reset the pump timing only. That was all that was authorized. When I Finally got notified my vehicle was ready, I went to pick it up, and was horrified at what he had done with no notification, authorization, and some things he altered under the hood. Not once did Moe contact me about anything needing to be replaced, had no authority to make said changes, and to top it off, he removed my Factory Black timing cover, and replaced it with a mustard yellow cover, which by the way, was unnecessary to start with. Moe, in my opinion has no clue about diesel repairs! I am now having to take legal action, as Mr. Moe, will not even answer my calls, text, and I've had to send a demand letter to Moe's Pro Automotive, which I don't expect he will respond to. I wouldn't recommend Moe's Pro Automotive to fix a bicycle wheel, much less a vehicle. He greatly devalued my Classic truck, by making unauthorized, no notification modifications to my truck! Then presented me with a $1200 invoice for all that he did to my once stock truck.

As of this review, my system is 14 years old but runs ok and I have window units as backups. Given that, Steve recommended maintaining the current system and replacing it only when necessary, and preferably during the slower fall season. Steve's honest assessment saved me thousands, and he has earned my future business. He also told me something the other guys didn't: The closet that contains my air handler and water heater is not large enough for the new system recommended to me, so the HVAC and water heater bundle quote I received was likely to increase significantly under sales pressure, and would require a tankless water heater. If you enjoy spending thousands more than necessary, there are plenty of companies in ETX that will help you do exactly that. However, if you value honesty, integrity, fairness, and a lifetime of experience, do your family a favor and call Steve Baser Air Conditioning. We have had Coy Dodd service our air conditioning and furnaces twice. While they were timely and…read morethe services appeared to be thorough, the replacement filters they put in our units were only the equivalent of MERV 10, which is insufficient for the high allergy conditions in Tyler. I have had a very hard allergy season this spring, and the inadequate furnace filters they use have contributed to the difficulty I have had, including needing to use medication I have not used in over 20 years! We changed the Coy Dodd filters today to Filtrete MERV 13, and I am already starting to feel the improvement in my lungs. In the future we will ALWAYS make sure our HFAC service providers use MERV 13 filters!
