It was my first time trying this place and I must say I will return . The girl taking our order was very very patient with me. Plus she explained the food and it texture . Price for your combo meals were okay and fair for the amount of food but the quality of meat and flavor was lacking big time!!!! The Kalbi ribs had no flavor, the beef was stringy and chewy and chicken was salty. I am hoping this is all due to being new and having to work out new business kinks. I may try again in a few weeks to give them time to work out the kinks. I have had many Hawaiian bbq's and so far L & L seems to be the best. I was hoping Aloha was going to be their competition. Food is consistently good. Great for takeout with enough for leftovers the next day. We especially love the Katsu and crispy shrimp!

I tried this place out when it originally opened and wasn't very impressed. I wanted to give it a second chance because the first time I went it was extremely busy. I'm glad I did because the food was great. I have been a frequent customer ever since. The owners are friendly, the food is good and it's reasonably priced. I went here at 2:30 on it's opening day. These people were CLEARLY not prepared to open on this date. The soda fountain wasn't working at all and they were already running out of food items like egg rolls only 3 1/2 hours after it's grand opening. Their explanation was they were busy since opening and were cleaned out. I'm very highly skeptical of this explanation. It's a weekday and most of Lompoc's working class residents commute out of town to their jobs and are not available to eat here until evening. It was somewhat busy, but tables were clearly still available. My hunch is that they didn't follow the cardinal rule of Restaurant 101...... always have tons of extra food on-hand than usual for your grand opening. My gut says they never had the egg rolls available to begin with, cuz running out of such a small optional side item in under 3 hours of operation just sounds sketchy. Onto the food.... I got the #31 combo. The rice was sticky, but not too much so and broke apart fairy easily..... just the way I like it. I'll leave it to others to rate the macaroni salad cuz I don't like eating it no matter who makes it. The katsu chicken was okay but was clearly left in the fryer too long. The batter was dark and too crunchy....which of course left the chicken fairly dried out. Less time in the fryer to keep them juicier is the easy fix advice for them here. The beef was a bit rubbery, but easily the best item on the plate for me. The BBQ ribs on the other hand are pretty bad. I got just one with the meal and it was very fatty and the meat was very rubbery & chewy. To be fair to them.... the ribs were pretty fatty at Zoe's Hawaiian BBQ in Santa Maria too, but not quite as much and the meat quality was better there.... along with a better grilling of the meat and a glaze. Are all Hawaiian ribs in general this fatty?!? The service was pretty decent and the gal at the register was very nice. I'll give them another chance in the future, but not the best of first impressions with me. read more

Deceptively really good food. Quality for your buck. Lace with impeccable service. I've been here two times and have had great experiences both. This place has been open for a while now and I drive by it daily. Finally went in today to check it out, and it is honestly some of the best food I have eaten in Lompoc, and very affordable! My wife had the pineapple chicken plate, and I had the Katsu chicken and crispy shrimp plate, both if them absolutely delicious! read more

We tried the pineapple chicken bowl and a chicken Katsu plate. Both were delicious, quick, and well priced. However we were disappointed when they served the food in a Styrofoam container and the bowl had a plastic lid on it when we told them we were eating in. I wish this restaurant would consider using more environmentally friendly waxed paper serving containers. read more

**UPDATE** This is seriously the best place to get seafood in Lompoc. $10 for 2-3 pieces of fish and 12 shrimp, plus rice and macaroni salad. You can't beat that anywhere. Not only that, it's Amazing! The fish is fresh and delicious, and QQ Aloha has some of the best shrimp I've ever eaten; always clean and never overcooked. And the chef cooks right in front of you, no microwaves or processed food. If you want a good meal for cheap in Lompoc, this is the place I recommend. The food here is so tasty that despite the slight issue with customer service described in my last review, I couldn't stay away. I'm glad to say the issue is entirely resolved! The new staff is so friendly and any mistakes on my order are swiftly corrected and replaced. Now, the staff takes extra care to make sure everyone leaves satisfied and the effort is much appreciated! I plan to visit here a lot in the future. read more

This family-operated Hawaiian restaurant is located at where Quiznos once was. Saw this hidden gem after going to O'Reilly and decided to give it a try. When I went there, the restaurant hasn't officially grand opened yet, but the owner was nice enough to let us in even though he seemed busy. They didn't have everything on the menu yet, so I just ordered the Kalbi Short Ribs plate with Macaroni Salad and rice, one of the most expensive thing on the menu priced at $9.99 and a Hawaiian Sun Passion Fruit tea for $1.50. After some chitchatting, found out that owners of the restaurant are also owner of Magic Dragon Chinese restaurant in Santa Maria, so they probably know what they are doing. The Short Ribs plate was actually a big portion - enough to feed 2 of us! I wish the Kalbi would be more tender and juicy though. But for $9.99, it's a great deal for the amount of food! They also have a lot of sauces to pair with the food. Very well decorated Hawaiian-theme restaurant even with an ocean view in the bathroom! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick meal with nice atmosphere and cozy seating. read more

I LOVE these guys!!! It's convenient for me because I live over in the Glen Ellen area, so it's super easy to just stop there on my way home from where I work in Solvang. The workers have always been so friendly, and they have really quick, efficient service. And, trust me, I manage a shop in Solvang, so I pay REALLY close attention to customer service. I've never had a bad experience here. The only time I ever had to wait longer than usual for my food was because the cook was power washing the grill, which I didn't mind at all, because that means my food got cooked on a clean surface! : ) I usually get the single meat plate of Chicken Katsu when I come here...soooo good!! I like their egg rolls as well! Definitely recommend to anyone thinking about checking it out! read more

The fried shrimp was crispy and not greasy. The rice is perfectly cooked not mushy or undercooked. The macaroni salad is flavorful but not killed with a lot of mayo. The people who work here are friendly and the bathroom and dining area is always clean! read more

The whole time I was eating, I was comparing this to L&L, and if you like L&L you will enjoy this. The macaroni salad was not quite the same but still delicious. I had the Mahi Mahi, and it was also amazing-crispy on the outside while tender and juicy on the inside. I tried the Katsu sauce because that is one of my favorites, and it had a bit more BBQ tang than I am used to, but still tasty! I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Great place to get some good clean food. Similar to LL Hawaiian. Everything tastes great and not greasy. But you have to go to Kauai to get the authentic Hi BBQ, this will do since the real thing is ~2500 miles away. Oh yes, portions are large. read more

Have been to this spot quite a few times for lunch. Pretty good. Usually get the bbq chicken combo. Love the mac salad. Very simple but very good. I would like to give this place a 3.5 at least but I have to mention that the customer service has been bad. The last 2 times my family and I went for lunch we ordered from a lady named Robin. She never greeted us. Never smiled. Signed loudly because we took long to order I guess. And it wasn't just that. She was annoyed at our questions and was down right rude. From beginning to end. She needs some serious training in customer service. Even my teenaged daughter noticed and said "wow, that lady was rude. She's acting like her boyfriend broke up with her today". Stopped by here on a business trip, great price for the portion. Very friendly staff, got food shortly after placing the order. I got the 3 meats combo, I forgot the name of it, item 30?. I was concerned because of the low star reviews on this place but I decided to try it anyway and I'm happy we did because it's different and very good. There's no other place in Lompoc like this and I'm really happy it's here. I had the grilled shrimp and it had good flavor and had a nice brown crisp to the outside that I wasn't expecting. My boyfriend had the ribs and bbq chicken. The ribs were a little fatty but they are ribs after all and both dishes had good flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed it and we will definitely be back. read more

We crave BBQ in Lompoc! Aloha's BBQ fills that craving nicely. The riblets are delicious, but the first 3 times we bought them the bottom was all fat on bones (on the full order of 4 strips) ... Lately, all the ribs have been meaty with very little fat! This is a wonderful evolution! The flavors, especially the orange duck sauce, are terrific and the pubic relations have improved greatly from our initial visits. Fabulous appetizers to try are: egg rolls, crab rangoons and sesame balls; we buy those for midnight snacks This restaurant has become one of our dinner staples here in Lompoc! Our favorite place to get dinner Friday night. I always call it in before leaving work in the village and it's hot and ready by the time I get to lompoc. Katsu chicken is the best, although I could totally live off the rice/pasta salad and egg rolls (that remind me very much of lumpia).
