Musubi
Mae L.

Ordered via door dash - and arrived to my place within 10 min, which probably means it was all pre cooked and then put together since I'm 1 mile away. Sauce came on the side - didn't really remind me of a teriyaki sauce it's more tangy and soy sauce tasting or I guess like a watery A1. Tried all meats without the sauce chicken was cooked well, not dry at all. The beef had a weird after taste. Short rib was good, nothing was overcooked. Wish the meat was topped over cabbage like other Hawaiian spots instead of a lettuce salad ( which of course I didn't eat) Mac salad had a good mayo to macaroni ratio but didn't taste like anything it was extremely bland. Musubi - wish the spam was a bit thicker but the rice ratio was good, rice was cooked to perfection. Spam wasn't cooked in sauce nor was there sauce in-between the rice and spam. Missing the sauce - so I tried it with the sauce I mentioned above but not a fan of the sauce so didn't like it together.

Thin spam with inedible rice - Spam Masubi

Worst rice I've ever had in my life ... mushy on the outside and crunchy in the middle - not edible. I don't even know how you can mess rice up this bad ! I can't support a restaurant that doesn't quality check the one side dish that is essential to 95% of their dishes offered. Masubi also had the rice and a very very thin slice of spam. I don't recommend this restaurant.

BBQ Chicken mini meal

Extremely delicious food! I ordered the BBQ chicken mini meal and my husband ordered the spam musubi. It took a minute to get but that's because everything is made to order (my husband even said the musubi was too hot and had to wait for it to cool down). It was extremely delicious and exactly what we needed for our little beach picnic :) One star was lost because the inside of the restaurant seemed a little bit dirty and maybe needs a bit of an update!

Catching up with good friends at Aloha BBQ.

My first time into Aloha BBQ and it won't be my last. I tried the spam musubi and chicken platter. Wow! The smoked spam went perfect with the sticky rice. The chicken cutlet was light, moist, and flavorful. Next time I'll try the fish.

Pretty good Hawaiian bbq. Would recommend for takeout , the inside seating is probably good for lunch.

Old Town Kitchen & Bar - Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes instead of linguini.

Old Town Lompoc doesn't seem like the best neighborhood, but this restaurant is worth the trip…read more However, according to those who know the area, it is safe enough to walk in and the restaurant is a block from the police station. We drove over from Solvang on state highway 246, which was nice because we got to avoid the rush hour traffic and construction on 101. The round trip is not bad. The service was excellent. Iliana our server was very nice and attentive. We got the chicken and meatball soup and the pan seared salmon. The soup was just ok, not bad, but not super exciting. The salmon was excellent. It is normally served with hollandaise sauce, spinach, and mushroom over mashed potatoes. We subbed the potatoes for more veggies. The veggies were well seasoned, salmon coked well, and sauce was a nice compliment. Their Diet Coke cups were huge. They only have one toilet and someone was in there a super long time when we wanted to leave, so plan wisely if you need to go. We had to hold it all the way home. The lot has adequate parking. The bar is only beer and wine. The restaurant is not super visible coming from the east, so listen to your map app when to turn. We had a good experience and would come back when in the area again. Recommend you give them a try.

But of course I'm not going to come off looking ungratfeul to my friend. I just had to suck up, bite my tounge and keep eating. We called Mangan food truck to ask about their catering service and were DELIGHTED to find they offered adobo, lechon kawali, pork and chicken bbq skewers, pancit, sisig, beef caldereta, kare-kare, lumpia, dinuguan, inihaw na bangus, desserts and more!! Basically everything you could think of to satisy any Filipino food cravings! Mangan arrived at the event hall promptly with over 12 trays of food to feed 100 people and everything went like clockwork! An employee stayed onsite and ensured that trays were refilled when they got low and nobody wanted for anything. We didn't have a single worry and the food was absolutely on point and consumed with great relish by Filipino food connoisseurs who are very, very VERY picky about what we eat!! Nobody walked away hungry, and even the non-Filipinos in the crowd expressed their satisfaction with their meal! There was so much food leftover we had a great after-party that night as well. The price was incredibly reasonable and the caterers were beyond polite, helpful and kind. It really was like being served by family! We give our wholehearted recommendation to this business and can't wait to book again!!
