The setup is genius and the music they were playing got me. To add to all the greatness, they had a happy hour that was completely boss. I got the chili and garlic prawns along with a spanish red wine. Perfection. The calamari with squid ink dip? To die for. So tasty. I'm a vegetarian at home, but for vacation and special events I make an exception. I'll ball out of control with the meat and seafood. A done deal. I want to go back for dinner. One day...

I had the soup and a burger. As lame as it sounds, I wish their menu had an explanation of what everything is. Because some of the dishes were in a foreign language, I didn't know what it was. That's kind of how I ended up with the soup... The soup was very sour, but in a good way. Inside the soup, there was a piece of what tasted like parma ham. My burger was cooked really well, just before medium. It was juicy and well paired with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. The sauce that came on it was also really good. I can't exactly say what kind of sauce it is though... All in all, I thought the food was good but I'm not sure I would say that Ham & Sherry is a place that I will regularly return to. Their food didn't have that wow factor to it.

Led by Chef Paolo Casagrande of 2 Michelin star Larsarte Restaurant in Barcelona, Vasco offers Spanish gastronomy in an upscale eatery which reminds me of a luxurious train compartment with its sleek and modern metallic decor. Booths with lush sofa seats are spaced out for a private and exclusive dining experience. I made reservations for lunch online which was convenient as I can see right away whether spots were available or not. On the day before, I received a call confirming my booking and reminding me that the dress code for guys is smart casual (no shorts, no sleeveless shirts, no flip flops). Lunch at Vasco is priced at $329 for 2 courses and $369 for 3 courses. Before our bread came, 5 different kinds of olive oil were wheeled in front of our table for our choosing. I forgot what each of them were already but each one had a slightly different characteristic: one was creamier, one was more grassy, etc. I tried the 4th bottle from the left which was supposed to be creamier and it was good. Our wheat sourdough bread arrived with 5 different kinds of butter! The sourdough bread was top-notch like the ones from Serge et Le Phoque but the butter was spectacular as well! From left to right: beetroot, spinach, tomato, porcini mushroom and plain. The butter was so soft and flavorful - my favorites were tomato and mushroom! Verdict - I came away very impressed with the immaculate care and thought that went into every single detail of this restaurant from the decor to the service and of course the food. I will definitely go back for dinner to try its full potential!

Staff wanted to seat us in the open air part, close to the very front of the restaurant. Since it was hot, we asked for, and were accommodated at a table in the middle of the restaurant, under the needed air conditioning!! We started off with two tapas; the Padron Peppers, $87, and the White Anchovies, $74. While the pepper dish was ample in size, it was incredibly boring in taste. However, the large sardines were expertly seasoned and enjoyable. For our main, we shared a non-meat version of the Seafood Paella, $338. This was delicioso y mui excellante! For dessert, we shared a Date Pudding, $70. This too was excellent. See photos. All in all a very comfortable place to dine. Service was adequate, as the staff had an attitude, yet food was impressive, thus the rating of 4 stars.

Need an all-day dining option? This is a good spot!…read more They have good happy hour deals on weekdays starting at 3 pm. Select cocktails and beer can go as low as $35HKD! They also have a good wine list that's affordable by the glass. We were a bit peckish one Sunday afternoon so we stopped by and ordered their tasting platter, which had 30 g each of serrano, lomo, chorizo, and salchichon iberico. It was served with some hearty bread slices and gherkins. I wish they could add some cheeses, but after all they are named "Iberico" so I guess I'll let it slide, haha. As it's along the escalators, it's a nice spot to chill over drinks and small plates while you people watch. If you're lucky, you might even witness some tourists who trip and fall at the end of the escalator because they were clearly not paying attention while taking selfies! (Yes, I've seen this happen before and it is schadenfreude at it's finest!)
