I have always been there for dinner, but they also have lunch time buffet (for 90 HKD!) which is probably the best value for money you can get around this area. The place isn't really fancy; it's a wide open space with a ton of tables - pick the ones close to the window; they don't have tables for two. In fact, they're big enough to accommodate for 5 people and, what's more important, for the procession of dishes that you may end up ordering. They have a delivery menu that you can check online and a la carte menu, which is the one I know, and I can almost recite from memory. From what I've tried I would highly recommend any of their chicken dishes (especially Makhani, Korma or Vindaloo). They normally come as mildly spicy and you should ask them to spice your dish up or down. The chicken meat always comes very tender and flavorsome (I haven't experienced the same thing with mutton for example). As a starter, you can't miss the Saag Paneer. It may be a little pricey for an appetizer or side dish (around 70 HKD) but it is absolutely worth it. It's the best one I've tried so far. A dinner for two can cost around 250 HKD, service charge included (but not drinks) which is a pretty good deal!

It has always been long known that Indian food caters very well to the vegetarian, vegan and Jain…read morediet, and Khana Khazana is no exception. Conveniently located in Wan Chai, this restaurant serves up a large menu of vegetarian delights, which will have even the most carnivorous of us satisfied. I personally am a fan of the vegetable shish kebab, a "kofta" made with minced vegetables and baked in the tandoor, the tikka paneer, and the dum aloo. All these dishes hover around the HKD60 mark, and are quite reasonable in size, so you will probably find your bill quite low. What is particularly good about this venue is that it is completely vegetarian, so you don't have to do the song and dance of, "can I have this, but without the bacon" or "is the stock made with chicken". And despite it being vegetarian, the food, being Indian, is very tasty and in some cases quite spicy! My only issue with the food, is that it can be a bit greasy. Everything seems to be liberally coated in vegetable oil, so just be wary. The venue itself is a bit like a canteen, with its bright fluorescent strip lighting, plastic tables (at least with table clothes I suppose), and school chairs. It could also do with having a good scrub and a lick of paint. However, I suppose we come for the food after all. The service is great, the staff are attentive and friendly, but there only seems to ever be one wait staff on. I do tend to come during the day when it is quieter and there aren't so many folks about, so I hope they add more wait staff in the evening when it gets busier. Having said that, the few evening times I have come, it never gets that busy, so you could probably turn up without a booking.

Never come back here again. Never. Ever. I can't imagine this place actually pass the health checks or is sanitary. Aside from the cockroach, the food here is just okay. I'd highly recommend going elsewhere for vegetarian Indian food. I always stay on the HK island, but I travel all the way to TST for some amazing / best Indian food I've ever had.

They had plenty of it, just that they did it so differently that left me quite surprised. The vegetarian options for the buffet that I opted for included a saag, malai kofta, dal tadka, a little patty (paneer, potatoes), biryani. Taste-wise, nothing stood out. And the fact that it was cold (not refrigerator cold but colder than room temperature) was very, very disappointing. Though when the manager came to check in, I told him that and he offered to warm anything I wanted, I politely refused because I wasn't keen by then. The garlic naan was good, soft, thin and garlicky enough. I went back to the chaat. The husband got a garlic naan as well and he didn't like it as much, strangely. He said that his didn't have enough garlic. And his paneer tikka masala was more like paneer butter masala, much sweeter. Korma sweet. He wasn't happy. Business seems to be looking good! Be sure to make reservations! Anyway, the food was very good. We ordered 3 curries: spinach curry with cottage cheese, lamb curry and another vegetarian Orange curry. It's hard to decide which one is best because they are so distinctly unique!! Just try em all!!!! I should mention that the lamb was sooooo tender, it falls off the bone. The classic garlic naan is still my favourite. We tried a veggie naan but I didn't like it as much. Still good but I love Garlic! =) We had samosas as the starter which was also satisfactory. They are a bit smaller than the homemade ones my students used to give me. There's an Indian drink that was really good.. I can't remember but it's smooth in texture. Kinda like milk tea but better. Lastly, the Indian ice cream was just ok. I guess I like my western Hagen daaz. You can also control the spiciness of the dishes... Hot, medium, light...

Known for quality food and clean interiors, this location did the same as well. The interior was very clean and the service was very good. Vegan Medu Vada - this was the least liked item for us. The Medu Vada, seemed very small for SB and looked as it was made by novice rather than an experienced chef. The MVs are normally much bigger and perfectly round and equal batter all around. Just one chutney and very little sambhar didn't help. The Vegan Rava Masala Dosa was better. Nice crisp dosa overfilled with Potato and Onion masala. The three chutneys and sambhar (less qty.) was good. The mostly Vegan North Indian Thaali was good as well. The curries to the point. The curries had a South Indian touch though, which is OK. The cauliflower 65 pakora was the best and super crunchy.

Known as "爵樂" (zoek lok) for the local crowd, they're regarded as a legit option for indian fare. I've been a patron for the better part of the last couple of decades, enjoying their food and overall ambiance. The best way I could describe the ambiance is classy but old school. There is ample seating for HK standards, with comfortable booths, clean bathrooms, and an overall nice decor. Service is usually exceptional: polite, professional, and super accommodating. I personally feel this is their strongest asset. I'm not mad at the food, which is most definitely solid. The presentation is on point and I'd reserve that mainly for their a la carte dishes. The pani puri is fun with the drink, the tandoori chicken is very hearty, and their mixed grill consisting of several kebabs is a treat. I also enjoy their sag paneer, chana masala, and dum aloo. One thing I've always loved is their lunch buffet. Despite being a city filled with numerous indian options (#2), only a handful will offer an all you can eat experience. Their setup changes daily, but I've always enjoyed it. I really liked their veggie pakoras, keema, and paneer anything options. I didn't love their chutneys, garlic naan, or navaratan korma, but one can't win them all. On certain days they have live music here, which is usually traditional music with live vocals with a bhangra dhol + mini drum set. The sound is legit, and a gamechanger + super fun element to their popular dining program. __________ (#1) And trust me, there's a lot. Desi life in Kowloon is serious. I was adventuring with my once-a-week-veggie friend again, and so we sampled many a veggie option. We had a vegetable pakora to start with, which was so so. Moving onto the delicious curries - paneer massala, paneer makhani and a mock duck makhankan (I think that's how it's spelt). The mock duck took home the best of show prize. Delicious, flavoursome and spicy. We complimented this with a couple of butter and garlic naans and my all time favourite palaki pullao; pilau rice and spinach. Honestly. It. Is. Devine. The meat eaters ordered a mixed tandoori to satiate our protein requirements. I wasn't blown away. On the whole, there are some delicious dishes here, but you need to know what they are. It's a great restaurant and I will be back and reorder different items to find the perfect Monday curry combination! Oh, and I booked through openrice which gave us a nice 15% discount when the bill came round. Who doesn't love a little discount!
