This Qdoba Mexican Eats is located in the Janaf Shopping Center in Norfolk, VA. They are located in a pretty busy area too, so there's lots of other shopping areas you can explore afterwards. My visit here was on September 13, 2022. It had been several years since I had been to a Qdoba. This is because several years ago, the one in Virginia Beach closed when the lease was up. This was always one of my favorite places to go for this type of food too. About a week ago, I had gotten a coupon for $5 off at Qdoba. I figured it was worth a shot coming out to Norfolk for this. When we came in, there wasn't anyone else in there at the time except for the staff. We got there around 11:15 am, so it was just likely a bit early. They were hopping more though by the time we would be done with lunch. You can see that they have lots of seating available. For soft drinks, they do Coke products, and there is a self serve Coke Freestyle machine in the main dining area. When we came up to the counter, we weren't sure what we wanted to get yet since it had been years since we had been to a Qdoba. The attendant at the counter asked if we wanted to sample the shrimp, and of course, we said yes. Both my mom and I liked the shrimp so much that we would both order Shrimp Bowls. I like that you have full control over what toppings and such you can put on it as well. I added cheese, Pico de Gallo, sour cream, mild Queso, various salsas, and of course, guacamole, which doesn't cost extra. After ordering and such, it was time to dig in. I really loved this bowl. It had everything I was looking for in it, and you could tell that the ingredients used were fresh. My mom had said something similar to me about her bowl too. They are better that some other rivals that are in Virginia Beach, such as Chipotle too. Hopefully sometime soon Qdoba does come back to the beach. It's already a beach that they aren't there now. ;) Overall, this was a very good first experience coming here. The food was really good and fresh. Service at the counter was on point. The place was extremely clean too, with no tables needing to be cleaned off. There is plenty of space to sit inside and eat here, but they also have a few tables outside if you wanted to eat out there too, depending on weather of course. If you happen to be in this area and have a craving for this type of food, you should definitely come in and give them a try. read more

I used to go here 1x/week. (East Little Creek Rd location...next to Papa John's pizza). My latest visit had a new person working there that created aa chicken bowl about 1/2 the size I am normally accustomed to receiving. I arrived within 45 min of closing. When I saw the place was using "circle" bowls, instead of oval shaped bowls, I knew something was up. Sure enough, the circle bowls are smaller. (Shrinkflation. And, when the person put the rice and beans and chicken in the bowl, I asked if I could have a little more chicken. She said, "I will have to charge you". Hmmm. I declined. Then when we got to the peppers, I said "yes, I'd like some of those". When she was done, the amount put in was minimal. I asked if I could have a red pepper too. She pointed at the dish with her chin and said "It's in there", Hmmm. Ok. I checked out. Paid the full price and went home with my take-out order. I ate the dinner. It was tasty. But it did not satisfy me. I literally had to have a large bowl of wheat chex cereal immediately afterward. I did. Now I was full. I "might" go back to see if this was a "one-off" situation. But if this small round bowl AND minimal servings are the new norm, then I'll start hitting Papa John's next door or Jimmy John's around the corner. read more

The food is hot; I was expecting it to be like Chipotle and Moe's (lukewarm). So this hot food was a welcome surprise. With all the recent controversy over Chipotle giving pathetic, chincey portions, we decided to try Qdoba after many, many years not. It was a Sunday afternoon after church. We got 2 bowls and 2 burritos. We ordered ONLINE for pickup. When we picked it up inside, the bag was HEAVY. Like, whoa, unusually heavy what you expect it to feel like, or maybe just used to rip-off Chipotle portions... The burritos were HUGE! We're talking true 2-full-hands to hold and eat. They were much bigger than Chipotles. And I would say definitely better tasting. The bowls were good size, but not nearly impressive as the burritos. But our bowls were fantastic. Intensely good. Better then Chipotles by a long shot. Now as good as the bowls were, for sheer value for the money, I'd recommend the burritos. Same stuff inside, but much more of it. So Qdoba is our new passion. We went again 2 days later, and it was just as good. We had parties going on in our mouths and tummies. read more

But for my first time Experience I was amazed how amazing the Manager, Aniah, was! she was so professional and nice she helped walk me through my order and gave excellent customer service which you don't get to often these days!! Manager here was rude. Asked about the free kids meal mentioned on the website, got a rude response in regard to it. Out of milk for the kids meal. Wasn't worth the 31 dollars. Gave us chips for the kid but provided no salsa. Very unprofessional and unkempt management, she had an ipod bud in her ear, having a phone call with someone while working, the conversation wasn't appropriate to be having in a restaurant. Rice dude would rather tell me how to order my bowl instead of letting me buy lace my order. Once he was corrected and the had to point out the I'm the customer he was still too sassy to make my food so I proceeded to say have a great day. And the manager decided to attempt to be facetious by continually repeating we wil. We will. We will. They lack Integrity and don't care about the customers or their food. Really disgusting, do not recommend. Visited after a beach trip. The food on the line was sloppy and hard to tell what was actually there, the service was VERY unfriendly and really didn't give a damn, the floors were filthy, both behind the counter and in the restaurant, the tables were pretty much all dirty with food spills, and the bathroom facilities were overflowing. Good Lord, some folks HAVE NO FLIPPING CLUE how to order at one of these assembly-line burrito joints. I watched a couple start at the beginning and tell the woman making the burritos "I'd like a burrito with chicken, salsa, lettuce, and cheese." All at once. Like the counter girl is going to remember that in thirty seconds and get it right? I mean, they try. They really do. Here's how it's done. You start with "I'd like a burrito" (or a bowl or a salad or tacos). They'll get that first step done. And then they will ask you what meat you'd like. You respond with "Chicken" or beef or whatever. And then as your meal is assembled as it makes its way down the counter, you ask for the toppings that are NEXT TO THE BURRITO AT THAT TIME. You don't ask for the whole thing with everything at the start - it's not hard, folks. Oh, and you get one shot. Don't ask them to unwrap the finished burrito at the end to go back and add guacamole. Jeez! So now that this lesson is taught, I'm going to sit down and enjoy my wonderful burrito - brown rice, chicken, hot salsa, corn salsa and shredded cheese. No... wait. This Qdoba has a Coke Freestyle machine, so here's lesson TWO. If you don't know what you want, step out of the way while someone who can make a decision gets their drink. Then you can go back and make your half-cherry Coke and half cherry Dr. Pepper, mmmmkay? The shop was clean and the tables had been wiped down recently. Plenty of parking. read more

First visit! The 5 stars are primarily for the women at the counter and how their service won me over. They were smiling the entire time(unless they were laughing because I looked lost), sharp & were patient with my order! And...YES, I AM one of those folks who do NOT know how to order from an assembly line or operate the modern soda machines!! LOL These fast food joints are normally not my first choice but, was about to chew my arm off. I ordered the shredded pork salad w/ Taco shell. Very filling and delicious! One of the ladies even came by to see how I liked it! I think the price was a tad high $9.45. Now that I know the food tastes decent, I'll be looking for coupons and will be back! I would give a 0 star if i could i just ordered delivery through QDOBA site for nachos and was not given any chips and it looks like dog food and sloppy when i called i was told despite ordering through the website with them o have to call door dash or come up for a redo and chips myself before 8pm despite being at work as a first responder unable to leave my job i am very unpleased and will be contacting headquarters! read more

This QDOBA location has obviously been revamped within the last year or two since I was last here. While the interior does look to be improved, the food quality and preparation thoroughness was definitely lacking. I ordered a chicken burrito with rice, chicken, fajitas, corn, queso, cheese, and lettuce. In terms of specific ingredients, the rice was not cooked well. There were many hard price pieces still. Overall, my burrito was not folded well and falling apart. The temperature was not hot enough, especially for something with queso in it. Along with the new interior changes, a few years ago they changed up their loyalty program. They switched to a mobile application, of which my wife downloaded and we were going to use. Once I scanbed the application and was told how many points we had, I asked a few questions about loyalty program overall but the cashier did not know the answer to any of them. I plan to come here again to see if my experience changes, and will update my review accordingly. read more

I am so disappointed with my recent visit to QDOBA. I used to eat here often (before their renovation) because the food tasted amazing and the weekly specials (BOGO on Tuesdays) could not be beat. My husband and I decided to eat here on a Monday night. It wasn't very busy and we were able to order our food quickly. I ordered a bowl with rice, chicken, and black beans. First of all, the worker preparing our food was SO skimpy with our ingredients. There's no one else in line, so I don't understand why we had such little food. Second, guacamole costs extra now. Before their "renovation," guacamole was included at no extra charge. Third, their rewards program has completely changed. They have made it very difficult for you to receive anything! I noticed that they also did away with a lot of their weekly specials. Prior to the renovation, every Tuesday was a BOGO entree. Now, it's Taco Tuesday's for $2. The food was bland, rice was hard, and the service was eh. I paid $7-9 for my meal and left feeling like I had barely eaten anything. Save your money and go to a Chipotle or Moe's. Trust me, you'll thank me later! read more

Since this is the only Qdoba that didn't shut down near me, I was actually eager to go once I saw they offered impossible meat option. The layout of the space was completely different from the last time I've been. It was clean vibrant with colors and the staff memebers were helpful with creating my palette. I've always been Team Qdoba over Chipotle. The quality in their ingredients doesn't leave my stomach in knots later and gives me that fulfillment. The Diablo Queso gets me every time, it's a must that I order it with my burrito or even with chips. I highly recommend trying the impossible meat when giving this place a visit. read more

Just stopped at the location for the first time. The restaurant looks new and clean and the staff is friendly and they smile which is a nice thing to see. She made my burrito bowl exactly how I like it with extra protein. lol I just wish this location was closer to home. Stood in line for 10 minutes with ONE person in front of us. The woman making the burrito was unnecessarily, ridiculously slow while the woman at the cash register just stood there doing nothing to help the line. Oh yeah there were also two more workers in the back pacing back and forth and doing absolutely nothing. This is the second time I've come to this location and left because of having to stand around forever for no reason. Food is better than moes but at least we can actually get served there. read more

One of the few fast food places I'll eat because the food is FRESHLY prepared and tasty! I like just about everything on the menu, though I typically go for the tacos or bowls. A craft two is always good when I can't make up my mind. The staff here is always nice and service is quick. Not gonna lie, I normally choose Chipotle over Qdoba just because that's what I'm used to eating, but I was feeling like eating shrimp & Qdoba had it. Plus, guac & cheese weren't extra! I ordered two items online for pick up. It wasn't ready by the time I got there but I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes. The employee gave me a cup to get a drink while I wait, on them. -- That made my day. It's not like I had to wait another 15 minutes. Food is good! Tasty, portioning is good for the price, quality is what you pay for. I'm probably gonna start driving an extra 10 minutes to eat at Qdoba. read more

No one in this food establishment is wearing masks when customers are still coming in to help keep THEIR business open. It doesn't make any sense as to why customers are wearing their masks and with the food being out in the open, why are the workers SERVING THE FOOD not wearing masks?? QDOBA is delicious as all get out. I haven't tried anything there that I haven't liked. If I want something light then I have a couple of pork tacos and if I'm hungry then I will load up a bowl with all of their yummy goodness. The staff is ok but I'm not there for them, I'm there for the food. Update: Jan 2018. QDOBA is still one of my favorites. I love the healthy food options they have and I like the variety of foods to choose from. I have nothing but good things to say about this place because their food is good. For how small of a portion of my day that I spent here, it was definitely the highlight! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by all 3 of the workers behind the counter and I believe the gentleman was the manager. I have a new found respect for Qdoba and the integrity of it's leadership team. I recently forgot my smartphone in the bathroom. I realized it as I was heading back to Northern VA. Naturally I called my phone and to my delight franchisee Jason was on the other end of that call. He assured me that my phone was in good hands and agreed to ship it back to me saving me the hours of time it would have taken to return to the restaurant to retrieve it. Manager Chris, took down my address and followed up with Jason to ensure my phone's safe return. Despite offering to pay for shipping Jason was generous and kind enough to cover those as well. Very few people of this integrity left in the world these days. Luckily for me this restaurant has a high concentration of them. Thank you gentlemen. read more

Ordered Qdoba for the first time, and won't be ordering ever again. Not only was the food cold, but I don't even think it was cooked.. or even slightly reheated. Ordered the street chicken tacos and the brisket tacos, we ate one of each and threw the rest away. The tortillas were almost frozen and just fell apart in our hands. There was maybe a spoonful of chicken in each taco , and the brisket was so cold it was just in large chunks that I could barley chew. Not sure how Qdoba does it since it's my first time eating there, but MOST Mexican places send chips and salsa so I purposefully didn't order an appetizer and received nothing with my tacos. I'm not a picky eater at all, but this food and experience was just tasteless and I don't plan on eating here again. read more

Very good recently renovated location. I was here today with my two girls and my wife. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They helped bring our food to our table when we didn't have enough free hands Everything looked and tasted as it should. Only complaint was the men's bathroom door lock was a little loose. Qdoba is hands-down our favorite place to eat fast food. I hesitate to call it fast food. This is GREAT food, served FAST. They always fix my chicken nachos to-go just like I ask. I use them for parties at home and leftovers all week long. While we've sampled Qdoba restaurants far and wide, the location near the Wal-Mart and Panera on Military Highway in Norfolk is my favorite. Kudos to all the staff, especially Dave, the manager.
