I ordered my usual: chicken strips meal with fries and a lemonade (which is always on point, by the way ). That said, the mobile app experience at this location wasn't the best. Unlike other Chick-fil-A spots where you can park and have your food brought out to your car, this one still makes you wait in the regular drive-thru line -- even if you mobile order. It kind of defeats the purpose of "ordering ahead" when you're stuck behind cars placing orders on the spot. The food was fine, though the fries weren't hot -- just okay. Orders an Oreo milkshake using the app for a faster pickup experience. The app said it would take about 6mins, but was more around 10. In any case, it was still faster than waiting in line since the drive through was slammed. I only waited a couple of minutes inside before I was handed my milkshake with a smile from the worker. Lately supporting big chains restaurants has been a bummer with food portion for the price and service has been mediocre. Chick-fil- A has always been a top contender in big chains to have. With my most recent visits being not great. Idk if I can honestly support the big chains anymore. I would always prefer to support local restaurants and businesses as much as I can. I rarely enjoy my visits to the bigger chains these days. My expectations are pretty standard, but the quality hasn't met my level of happiness. I know nowadays we go for more of a convenience. I really think it's not worth my time or money to support them in the future. I ordered from the catering menu on 4/19/2023 to be picked up 4/20/2023 at 1215. I arrived at 1215 and went inside. I was greeted by a nice man when I entered the door. I went to the counter and was greeted by another nice young man who assisted me. He told the manager what I was there for. Within a couple of minutes she had my order. After a lengthy drive-thru experience, delay at the ordering window and sub par food I'm dropping this location down a couple notches. I arrived at 1052 to order a combo meal and was first to order with 4-5 cars in front. No issues with ordering, but it seemed who ever was working may be a newer employee based on the comfort level of dealing with customers. The drive-thru is a double. At 1059 I arrived at the pick up window. My food was ready after around 7 minutes. This may not seem long, but most Chick Fil A Drive-thru's average less than 4 minutes and my local one 2.5 minutes. Yes they keep stats on this and it's a sense of pride for the store to report to HQ. When I displayed by app to scan it would not work. The app was recently revamped and I learned it was not the app, it was on their end. A faulty reader was preventing every customer from receiving points. After trying a few times and escalating to a team lead no dice. I then asked for an item to be comped due to failure. The staff person said I could only use app points. I was disappointed my request was not escalated to management. Finally she gave up, handed the receipt over and said I would need to go to their website and do myself. I departed at 1104, that's a 12 minute wait. Quadruple an average and I was not satisfied. The sandwich hot, but was overdone and fries cold. No napkins in the bag. The chocolate milk fine. I did enter the info into their website and that added an additional 5 minutes to the transaction. If this ever occurs guy must have receipt to input store number, order number and amount. Of course I did not recall my password which is needed. I should have driven to my regular Haygood store and will not be back. 1.5 rounding up and this marks a sad day. In addition, I included an 8oz bottle of Polynesian, Honey Mustard and Chick-fil-A (CFA) sauces at $2.50 each. My birthday passed in July a few weeks back, and was offered a free desert to boot! Great first time experience! I was curious if the dining area was open, and it is! I was only there for a short time, and I was waiting while my boyfriend was shopping at Lowes. Food is great but kind of bummed with the last experience. We asked for pup cups as we always get them there and the pups were excited. But we pulled up to the window and the lady said they dont give out pup cups. I asked her when they stopped doing that and she told me awhile ago. I then told her I had just gotten them there a week prior. She then told me they aren't supposed to as they lose profit since they can't charge for them. We had ordered two grilled chicken club meals with chicken noodle soups. When we were waiting in the drive thru they told us to pull off to the side and continue to wait because the chicken noodle soup wasn't ready. After fifty minutes of waiting my husband proceeds to go inside and ask what's going on with our order. He comes back a few minutes later stating that our meal should be out shortly. When we finally receive our meal and drive off we realize they gave us fries instead of our soup. They had us waiting for almost an hour just to receive the wrong order. This has got to be the saddest Chick-Fil-A I've ever been to. The workers are sad, the food is sad, everything about it makes me not want to come back. Not once when I talked to 3 separate employees did any of them make eye contact with me, smile, or even acknowledge they heard my requests. There was no "My pleasure", no "Okay", nothing. They were obviously extremely old, as they were very chewy....chewy to the point where I had to spit out a few of them. My Waffle Fries were also sub-par. Rather than full fries, my carton was filled with tiny little fragments. This has got to be the most disappointing Chick-Fil-A meal I've ever eaten. Stopped by this Chick-fil-A around 2pm on a Friday.(Yesterday) the drive thru was getting pretty long. I went inside, used the restroom and ordered my food. The women's restroom was very clean! I love how they have motion sensored trash cans for feminine products! I have never seen anywhere else have this, I loved it. Anyways back to the food. I placed my order and within 2 minutes it came out! This sandwich was absolutely perfect. The chicken breast was breaded yet still juicy and thick. The cheese was placed perfectly on the breast, along with pickles. The bun, you guessed it! Perfect as well. I have never had a Chick-fil-A sandwich put together so perfectly. I frequent the drive thru when it's breakfast time because I'm lazy in the morning and I just want to get my food and head straight to work. Lol Please beware, their parking lot is jacked up. To set the stage we ordered through the drive through and it's never a surprise that they are a popular place. That's a given and doesn't at all influence this rating. What does, however, is the customer service. Normally, for long lines there are outdoor representatives who politely greet you, take your order and process you quickly. An ingenuise system that quickly leaves you feeling accomplished even as you wait. Though this system was not in place at this location, you'll often still be greeted and treated in the same professional and friendly manner...not the case here. This could have easily been a McDonald's representative at the Chik- fil- a price. Food: This was the first time we have EVER had stale, old fries. Genuinely NOT good and disappointing for the quality expected for Chik-fil-a. Recommendation: Keep driving. Recommendation for Franchise: Retrain or be a be a better operator. I love this place. The workers are so friendly, the food is always fresh and delicious. You never have to worry about a sloppy mess of a sandwich they actually take a few minutes and put it together right and neat. My grilled chicken cool wrap was so good! I love to mix the avocado lime ranch with the buffalo sauce it makes it spicy and yummy! The fries are fresh and not too too hot. The diet lemonade is my JAM!!! Only bad thing about this place is that it's always poppin. The drive thru line was wrapped around the building and it took us a good 20 mins to get through the line and get our food. They need to open another place somewhere in Norfolk. All in all it was great. Great service, great food, and worth the wait.
