The service there was horrific. The old blonde employee on staff tonight at 8:15pm on October 28th, was extremely rude and yelling at me and other customers. She acted like she owned the place and treated fellow employees horribly as well. Not only was her personality offensive but her bodily odors were absolutely foul. I ordered a brisket birria queso burrito boxed lunch using the relish app. The price is good for the quantity of food you get since it comes with chips and salsa, a burrito, and a brownie but in terms of quality, I was not impressed. The burrito I ordered was 60% rice, so it was hard to pick up on the flavors of any of the other fillings. Also, the rice was advertised as cilantro lime but I did not see nor taste these ingredients. There was only a little bit of meat and it was not birria meat, but rather was just regular shredded pork. I was expecting the queso to be a thick liquid consistency but it seemed like shredded cheese slightly melted. The fajita veggies inside did taste fresh. I did not see or taste the corn salsa. The brownie was good and very chocolately. I have heard from colleagues and friends that Qdoba when ordered in person can be good so I will potentially try it again in hopes of a better experience. read more

How do you screw up basic Mexican food this badly? Qdoba managed to find a way. First, I'm not a fan of the "Choose your entree", "Choose your protein", "Choose your add-ons" style of ordering. I'd rather the restaurant choose ingredients that go well together - with reasonable accommodations for likes/dislikes, allergies, etc. I knew that's how they do things going in so that's on me. But what should be a simple process of ordering 3 tacos turned into a frustrating ordeal. I ordered the 3 tacos meal. Choose my protein: pulled pork. (Out of brisket - I was sad.) Choose my tortillas: soft corn. Choose my sauce: spicy habanero. Choose my add-ons: here's the confusing part. They have quite a few, and there is no set limit on the number you can get. Is that a bad thing? For me it was because I just wanted a traditional Tex-Mex taco so I had to mentally reconstruct what goes in while there was a line of waiting customers. So I chose quickly and didn't get it quite right. I think I ordered lettuce, onions, jalapenos, cheese, chopped tomatoes, cilantro. Had the server literally never made the a-la-carte taco order before? He thought I wanted the "street tacos" which was a different item. I told him what I wanted and pointed to the menu. Begin server's first consultation with manager. She explained how to make it to him and we got started. At most Tex-Mex places you get beans and rice on the side. Since they were on the list of add-ons I asked for those too - on the side. This totally confused him. He wanted to put them in the tacos! What the hell? It's not a freaking burrito! Begin server's second consultation with manager. After more confusion (more on that later) she said I could have the beans and rice in the small container but in the large it would be a side order and additional charge. No problem, I didn't want much. As I watched, the server filled one small container with rice. Then a 2nd. Then a 3rd! The 3 together were bigger than the single large container they wanted to charge me for! I watched with amusement and forgot (as did the server) that I wanted beans too. They also forget the cheese that I asked for. On to payment: I used a credit card which they processed without giving me a chance to add a tip. While my irritation was already blossoming at this point I had no issue with the server and I still wanted to tip so I asked to change a $20 and told him why. Uh-oh: this required a third consultation with manager. She told him how to make the change and walked away while he was still needing clarification and got busy with another staff. Leaving me and the server frustrated and waiting. I told him this is ridiculous but not his fault and wanted to tip so we waited. I (not the server) finally got the manager's attention and she came back, explained to him and walked away, again, while he was still asking for clarification! But he did figure it out, I got my change, tipped and thanked him and sat down to eat. My short encounter with this manager was bad enough but I really feel bad for the employees that must endure her apparent lack of empathy, inability to listen and understand, and general aura of impatience mixed with ineptitude on a daily basis. The food: not worth the wait! Soggy corn tortillas that did not hold together, flavorless. After the first few bites it fell apart completely and I had to resort to knife and fork. Pulled pork: totally flavorless with no apparent seasonings whatsoever. Jalapano slices were way too thick and vinegary. But at least they added some heat. A good thing because the habanero sauce, which they said was their hottest sauce, was like watered-down ketchup! About the only good things I could say is, the place seemed clean, it was cheap, and they have hand sanitizer available. But that won't keep it off my "Never Go Back" list. I was going to be generous and give 2 stars - I did finish it after all - but after rereading this I just can't. One star. read more

I wish there was a Qdoba at my home town. I go to this Qdoba because it's near my work. It's always a good hit. Prefer it over chipotle any day. Quality, taste, service all of it. The Lexington location got renovated not that long ago, new granite, back splashes paint etc. Vanessa and the staff there are always friendly. Easily go there once a week. The Taco Salad was tasty and the meat was well marinated and the Guacamole was fresh and the shell stayed Krispy till I finished eating my salad. They have a Coke Soda dispenser that can make over 100 soda flavor selections! I will go back when i want some Fast Healthily prepared Mexican Food! There is also plenty of parking. You can also order your food through their App on your Smart Phone too. If you eat in there are large windows from floor to ceiling to enjoy watching what is happening outside the restaurant. I am never ordering from this location again. I usually don't order from this location but did a couple of times because it was a Grubhub delivery. And every time I do not get what I ordered. The first time it was my name not my food any of it (3meals) the second time it was my food but half of it was not there.(quesadilla with no sides.) and this last time almost killed me. It was tacos filled with jalapeños . I don't do jalapeños I don't do anything hot ever my tacos always consist of chicken, sour cream, guac,cheese and lettuce. I've bit in to it getting a mouth full of jalapeños, leading me to choking, gagging, coughing, burning mouth, watery eyes, runny nose, and a loss of appetite. I literally thought for the first five minutes I was going to die. This location completely sucks. read more

Skimped in the rice in a burrito bowl. Staff glares at you - the ones that are forced to work. Food was ok I mean it's the same at all locations for the most part but here I was so taken aback by the dude that rung me out - I was done then added on a soda at the last min- right after he gave me a total. Then said. "Oops sorry" he said " no worries I was going to find a reason to blame you anyways" ... huh? For what exactly ? "That's what I always tell everyone here - give me 5 mins I'll find a way to blame you". I haven't been to QDoba in years (just not around me) and when I saw one figured I'd get a burrito. It was by far the worst burrito I've ever had (or top 3 worst). The chicken was dry and "crispy/burnt", beans had no flavor, rice (lime) had no flavor and even the sauces and SC were bland. I'm not sure how you can have a burrito with such non-flavor. I honestly wanted to toss it but considering I was hungry and spent ~10 on a burrito shoved it down. To say the least that I won't ever go to QDoba again is an understatement. read more

I'm sorry to say this was a pretty low experience. For starters, the space and the tables were very dirty. No one bothered to clean the tables off after use. The ingredients in their pans looked old, dry and as if they'd been there for a week. The taco shells were equally past their prime. The whole experience was sickening. I ended up leaving with my order rather than sitting in filth, but threw it out as it was inedible and I lost my appetite fearing I'd get food poisoning. Just visited the Qdoba near the Stop&Shop in Lexington. Server was wearing gloves but proceeded to hike up her pants from the waistband with both hands. Then without missing a beat proceeded to take our order and make the tacos. When I told her that I was sorry but I was not comfortable that she had touched her clothes and was now preparing the food, she displayed an aggressive attitude, threw that plate away, then went to put on new gloves. Thereafter when she took my child's order she gave her one complete Taco and one damaged three fourths of one, clearly taking out her annoyance in a visible fashion. Of course my child noticed that she got a damaged one. One expects better of Qdoba which is setting itself up for a national chain. Seems like either they can't teach safe food handling methods to their staff or common courtesy. The better reaction would have been to say "I'm sorry" and then calmly make us a new order without the attitude. Of course I'm not taking my children back there. read more

I go to this place a lot of the time out of convenience, and I will say that the food is satisfactory. I am vegetarian and I like that I can build my own meal. I usually get a "burrito bowl" which is very delicious and filling. However, the customer service is seriously lacking. Despite some of the employees caring about their job and doing their best, they cannot make up for the others who clearly don't give a crap about their job or your food, and make that very clear. The server who is on the line, preparing the food, should not stare at me with a glazed disinterest until I tell him what I'd like. A pleasant expression would be nice, as well as actually listening to and caring about what I say. When I say lettuce I don't mean cheese. A little and a lot are not the same thing. Seriously poor service. You have to wonder if the owners even care. Four people working, and only one person is helping customers. Two people in front of me, and I wait seven minutes to order. When I said something to the one employee working the line, he didn't say a word. Just gave me an evil look. Finally the manager came out from back, and when I said something about having to wait he said the other guy had to clean the bathroom. Seriously. Qdoba can be a fun place to eat, its got spacious seating, a relaxed environment and friendly customer service. The food is good, but, I unfortunately have to compare it to Chipotle. They don't get anywhere near Chipotles commitment to fresh and healthy ingredients. I believe that you can even taste the difference in their burritos. All of Chipotles ingredients are cooked right in front of you but you often see Qdoba reheating their meats in microwaves. Also, their production line needs to be faster, they should simply keep a larger staff rather than let the line go out the door. Sometimes you're waiting a full 30 min to order for a line that I feel should be manageable (so avoid the lunch and dinner rushes). Prices aren't terrible but I do wish they were a bit cheaper. Qdoba does have some slightly different menu options from Chipotle that are nice like the queso sauce, which really improves the burrito. But there's a lot more to it than just taste, after all even McDonald's tastes good. I should mention that this is the only Qdoba I have been to but I can't help but admit that they fall short of Chipotle in service and quality of food. I got my burrito and went to sit down. As expected because of covid the tables have signs on them that read OK for seating. Except for the fact that the OK seating tables were pretty dirty. And the NOT ok seats were clean.. so which one am I going to pick from! Anyways..I asked for a napkin.. you would have thought it was the end of the world... I've been dying to try Qdoba, and although the food was just OK, I'll never go back to that location. The counter person, was not helpful, not friendly and seemed like my patronage was a nuisance. As soon as I walked in, she asked what I wanted.. said I needed a second & she was annoyed. I've never been here, wasn't sure what the sauces were and it was pulling teeth for an explanation. Also, its dirty in there. Over by the counter, there was a few receipts, an empty cup, and some other random trash next to the overflowing garbage barrel. Now I'm looking around. It was the customer service that was awful. There were 3-4 people working, and yet nobody acknowledged me or the growing line behind me. There was just one woman in front of me--with two small children--getting simple meals...and four workers, two of whom were actually working. My daily go to place. Always going there! I get steak brown rice and black beans in a bowl. Their food is trustworthy and amazing. And the drinks are refillable but you have to pay though it isnt that much. Try the chips and queso. Salsa is great but the queso is awesome. Make sure it isnt too spicy. Get mild whatever you get.
