Dahlia was a delight!…read more Stopped in on the way home from the beach for queso and margs and was shocked by the GINORMOUS margarita I was served. I love a good coconut marg, and theirs was $14. I had no idea what was about to come my way but it was HUGE!!!!! The drink was so good (sooo much ice filling that huge glass) but it was fun to get such a big drink. The queso was good too. My husband ordered steak and it had to be sent back for undercooking, but otherwise, it was a really good meal. The service was not responsive. Had to ask for chips, drink refills, and waited a good bit to see the server to tell her to take the steak back to be cooked again. All-in-all, food gets a good nod, but due to the lack of service in a largely empty restaurant, I am giving it 3 stars.

We were pleasantly surprised that they were able to seat our whole group, at one long table, without any wait. The restaurant itself is a lot larger inside than it appears from the outside, with plenty of seating. I ordered a house margarita, which was good, and substantially sized. The chips and salsa were tasty, and with as large of a table as we had, they refreshed them for us, which was great. For dinner, I had the pollo poblano, a chicken dish that comes with mushroom and spinach stuffed chicken, rice, and they kindly switched out the black bean puree for vegetables. Overall, the meal was good, but surprisingly not super flavorful.

Went to Tia Coris for lunch today and it was really good. We ordered the barbacoa, carne asada,…read morepollo, and pork. We got them American-style with flour tortillas, and they were fire. Simple yet flavorful, everything tasted very fresh, and they were generous with the amount of meat on each taco. We were extremely satisfied and felt good after eating. We would definitely go back for our next taco fix. Bonus: they have Mexican Coke. We liked that it's fast-casual--you order at the counter and the food is brought to you within about 10 minutes, which makes it the perfect spot for a quick lunch. We really appreciated how fast everything was despite coming during the lunch rush. We sat inside because it was chilly willy, and the vibe was very casual. Something about the restaurant felt truly authentic.

They tossed in grilled onions (a bold move I did not ask for), and the sour cream situation was kinda lacking. But hey, we win some, we lose some. The Jamaica, though? Spot on. Perfectly balanced between sweet and tart--like someone's abuela whispered the recipe in their ear. Ambiance-wise, the place was clean, colorful, and honestly pretty charming. I liked the artwork, the energy felt lively, and the staff were cute and respectful, I got my food fairly quickly. It was busy the whole time, which tells me the locals really love it. I didn't try the salsa yet, so I'm leaving the door wide open for a second round. I'll be back--and I'll update you next time.

I took advantage of the La Parrilla Louie lunch special, which was a ginormous portion half of which I took home for an additional meal. My wife had the pineapple Al Pastor and the Americana tacos with Spanish rice and black beans. The Al Pastor was much tastier than the Americana so next time she'll order two of the Al Pastors. The service was great and a really nice atmosphere in this restaurant. It is right across the street from the Daytona speedway. Also, an incredible value as their prices are really fair.

It's been a while…read moresince our last visit, so I called the restaurant to see if they still had their happy hour specials. At first the staff member informed me that they only have these during the week, but after further discussion she explained to me that yes, they still have the happy hour specials on the weekend from 2pm-5pm, nice! Surprisingly, for a Saturday at 4pm, this restaurant was actually slow. We were seated promptly and greeted by our server shortly after. We just wanted to order a few appetizers and a drink to share so we went with the Fro-Jo-Rita ($3.99), two orders of Taquitos ($4.49), the Guacamole ($4.49), and the Mexican Street Corn ($4.99). I highly recommend stopping in during happy hour to save beaucoup $$$$$. Our $40 something meal just turned into a $29.91 minus tip, great deal! I have to mention that since our last visit some of the appetizers have been removed from the happy hour deals, empanadas being one of them. Our food was out in record time. I went to the restroom to wash my hands shortly after placing the order and the appetizers were already arriving, wow! The food was delicious like we remember it; however, some of the taquito chicken was a bit dry, mostly on the ends, I take that into consideration since it is deep fried; regardless, there is plenty of sauce to go around to jazz it back up as needed. We were pretty much stuffed to the gills when we finished these appetizers, so no complaining here. Our server, Cammie, was super friendly and personable, she took great care of us during our visit. The restaurant is still as beautiful inside as we remember it, but this time around a happened to notice how gorgeous the bar top is. The bartender informed me that all the cards that are Epoxy Resin sealed into the bar are from Mexico, and that this is one of the last Cantina Louie stores this work was performed in. The Artists who performed this work has done all of the bar tops for every Cantina Louie since inception, which is pretty amazing to learn. I would mention that my only complaint this time around is that the chips that came with the chips and salsa were not warmed before delivery. I could tell they were freshly cooked that day but they were sent our room temp. Not the biggest complaint especially since we asked Cammie if she could bring out the second basket warmed, which she did. If you are looking for an affordable meal while shopping in the area, I highly recommend checking out Cantina Louie, especially during happy hour. We will be back!

I had the chorizo tacos....bold, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and honestly mouth-watering.
