I came in for a French gel manicure with three fingers that still had a different gel polish still on. It took the technician a very long time to cut / shape / trim the nails on one hand (another woman came in and got s gel manicure at the same time as me, and was completely finished by the time one of my hands has been filed/cut). I asked for round nails but they were consistently square, even after asking the woman to make the edges rounds multiple times - It was like she had never shaped a nail before. The filing was all wrong. The length and shape of all my nails are incredibly uneven - I had to ask multiple times to even out certain fingers. While she was trimming my cuticles (with a tool that was definitely not sterilized and even had some of the last customers cuticle trimmings on it still, that she wiped off with her fingers before using on me, no sanitizer) she cut way too deep around the top for some reason and hurt me several times. She also scraped my now-raw cuticles by buffing too aggressively and messily, missing my nail beds for my knuckles. Then, in order to get the gel off of the three nails of my other hand, it was another long and torturous process of painfully scraping the not-loosened polish off my nail, damaging the beds and the nail itself. I could have gotten them off easier myself. Finally, the gel manicure was sloppy - globs of polish in the corners of some nails, patchy bare areas on others. The French edge is messy and uneven. I'm bummed I splurged for a gel French when I know I'll have to get this manicure fixed as soon as my nails are long enough again. Will not be returning. read more
