Although it may not be as contemporary or glorious as some other nail salons, Cong & Amy are still working hard to provide friendly, conversational service at a higher level than your typical nail salon. I go for a basic pedicure (no polish, being a guy and all...) about once a month and I go to Amy because she seems to have good hygienic practices, and is usually available on the same day I call for an appointment. She isn't too aggressive in removing my cuticles, and she doesn't use the metal cheese grater like some salons, instead opting for disposable pumice bars. I don't know when they opened, but it seems they've been operating for nearly 20 years, which is exceptional! They are entertaining selling the salon, though, so be sure to thank them for their longstanding track record on Whyte Ave. It will be a sad day when they sell, especially if the new owners don't maintain the same standard of service that I've come to expect here.
