Absolutely horrible place to eat at. Service was terrible and food was equally as worse. Waited over an hour and a half to get food and when it came out was not even worth eating. The lady who I assume was the owner basically argued about how good their food was, and when I mentioned I know Bbq because of my family and we where I am from how their food is better here compared to Southern food, Just because you drove through the south and a stopped for a visit does not make you an expert on southern bbq and a sides expert. And how the wait time is normal for over an hour. No ma'm it is not. You should have said something before we ordered and paid over $50 for food that was yet tasteless and seasonless. Look at your reviews on urban spoon and take note of all the bad reviews you are getting. You are running your business into the ground and your customers out the door. read more

The food at Q Fanatic is fair. I have only been there a couple times trying different menu items, and have not been excited about anything except the cole slaw. In particular I think the beef is over tenderized and could be a bit leaner. It's a great family style restaurant with the value packs and casual environment. Not really my preferred dining experience so would only go back if out of town visitors requested to go. read more

Good smokey food like the pulled pork and brisket best I had in mn or ever but the ribs were disappointing to me just cus I don't really like dry smoke ribs so wasn't as juicy but very tender and fall if the bone the other stuff was pretty amazing so it's worth it just NOT as much for me with the ribs read more

The best ribs I have ever had. And the bread rolls were phenomenal. The brisket was very, very good. We had 4 different sides. The corn fritters were very good, the Mac and cheese tasted reheated and slimy, the snp potatoes were soggy and oily, the cole slaw was way too watery and vinegary. Really bummed out! Champlin is a long drive for me. I've had 5 or 6 really good experiences at Q but last Thursday was horrible. I was looking forward to the brisket and adding the rib deal. Everything was horribly dry -- all three people in our party threw out food. Also, the large sign when you walk in says to have your meal choices ready when you walk to the order desk. The sauce--Espresso is delicious-- and spice lovers spring the extra 95 cents for the Pepper Vodka BBQ sauce. The Q Mac & Cheese is beyond delicious! My husband and I are always looking for good BBQ places, so, when this place popped up on my Urban Spoon app, we decided to give it a shot. My mouth started to water as soon as I opened the door of my car. I was greeted by the smell of delicious smoked meats, and I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into them! My husband and I ordered the two meat meal to split, and it was definitely plenty of food! We were treated to pulled chicken, beef brisket, four rolls, corn fritters and cheesy au gratin potatoes. Every single bite I had was absolutely delicious! The meat melted in my mouth! While we tried several of the different barbecue sauces, my favorite was, by far, the honey barbecue that was already in a bottle on the table. It was amazing and unlike any barbecue sauce I'd ever had. I can honestly say I would eat here at least once a week if I lived closer. My hubby and I will definitely be back, and we will definitely be bringing all our friends and family here! read more

Ok. I am shocked to see the bad reviews of this place. It's an awesome joint with awesome food. With that, the lines can get long. People will always complain about something. Yes, they have corn fritters instead of cornbread. Yes, you gotta make your own honey butter to go with them, but still in doing so, they are amazing. Get the spicy red potatoes for a side. Combined with the seasoned sour cream they are hard to stop eating. We usually get the sampler combo for about 20 bucks. The pulled pork us crazy good, esp combined with the vinegar mustard sauce they have. Put that on a delicious garlic roll that comes with the combo and you are golden. The ribs, and the brisket are lights out too. Lots of sauces to choose from. You can really see the love and care that goes into the meat. Sorry this isn't a fancy restaurant that caters to your every need. They do food. That's what matters. read more

I would venture to call myself a "regular" of this place and I am NEVER disappointed. The service is good and the food is exceptional--the best BBQ you can get in MN! My favorite meal might be the Q Club because the bacon is unbelievable! I always tell myself that I'm going to try something new but I DREAM of this sandwich. I have had the ribs and they are awesome too. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ sauce in general so I like to get the ribs dry. They are seasoned very nicely and are plenty flavorful. In 2012, my mother (in Utah) called me after seeing "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives" to tell me about Q Fanatic Barbeque in Champlin, Minnesota. The first time I ate there, I shed a tear of joy because it was so delicious! Yesterday, I had Q Fanatic cater a business luncheon in my home. The food came on time, hot, delicious, and plentiful! Just popped in there for a quick lunch. We're passing through the area on vacation and the hotel desk clerk recommended the place as "where townies go for really good food." Superb, large, pulled pork sandwiches with a choice of several excellent sauces. Excellent beer selection. Extra-flavorful ... if over-wet ... coleslaw. The downside is the order-at-the-counter system ... you can't see the menu (it's printed on the wall) from where you order. But, the restaurant was clean, the staff smiling, and the food worth the wait. read more

Always have the rib tip special for lunch. Great flavor and better value. I suggest to get there by 11:30 for lunch, it fills up fast.

Some of the best barbecue I've ever had, especially as takeout! We got the slow smoked sampler with brisket, pulled pork, and slab bacon. We also added a half rack of ribs. It was way too much food for two people, but so delicious! The slab bacon was maybe one of the best things I have ever eaten!
