I wish they brought Primark and Zara to this mall. Those are the stores they need to add on. It got the Apple Store too so you know this mall is a hip and trendy one in the Bronx. There are also many stores on a strip mall around the building including AMC, Burlington, and Marshall's. Thankfully this mall got Starbucks because I was very hooked on their coffee. It is a big mall with 3 levels and since I was not a regular I was lost a few times and getting to one destination from another took forever. Also finding the nearest bathroom was tough. Had to resort to the directory. Thankfully there were escalators and elevators all around.

Review: 09/13/25…read more Parked in JC Penny's parking lot at Baychester Mall, thought it was the polite thing to do was to make a purchase being that parking was free. A great sale was going on, and I needed to get new bed pillows. The sale was too good of a deal to pass up. Just as i thought i had made the ultimate score. Realized the check out lines were a mile long. The houseware section is on the third floor. The extra, mile long check out line, turned out to be returns. No check outs on the entire third floor. Took the escalator done to the second floor, walked around, no check out lines on the second floor. Getting a bit frustrated, I just want to pay and leave. First floor has to be a charm. As we got off the escalator, there is one check out line, which was long. However they had three cashiers. Met a nice lady, had a cool chat about why we no longer like shopping in stores, and prefer online. This ordeal of having to hunt for a cashier was enough JC Penny to last me a lifetime. The store is very busy on the weekends. Checking out is difficult, lots of great deals. Good luck!

I paid for the two pants. little did I know that a the system picked up two shirts instead of the pants. As my friends and I walked out of the store we were approached by a security guard who demanded that we showed him our receipts because it showed that we had walked out of the store with stolen items. We walked back to the store and explained and showed our receipts ( the security guar) did not believed us even though we insisted in him checking the camera system. He never did! after we insisted that we were not leaving the store with clarification, a sales person showed up and realized that the scanning system had picked up the wrong item. it was a total embarrassment. Please when paying at the self checkout make sure that the scanner is not picking up the wrong items because you might be accused of stealing

Regrettably, DXL didn't have the jacket in a larger size. With my receipt in hand I stated I wanted a refund. The store clerk immediately asserted he wasn't giving me a refund as he accused me that the jacket had been worn! Excuse me? First damn off the jacket was NEVER worn. Secondly all tags were still on the jacket. Additionally, their were no stains, rips or perfume on this item. Accusing a customer of wearing an item, after I clearly told u the item was not worn, I find that to be highly insulting. How dare he? I also found his accusatory actions to be discriminatory, surely if I were a white customer he would have refunded my money with no question. Shopping while Black, Equal Suspect? Smdh. As I stated to this dumb ass ignorant clerk, his attitude is just why stores fail in urban areas, due to poor customer service, prejuduce & ignorance. Re-training is a must at this location as the Customer Is Always Right. The manager granted my refund. However due to that jack ass sales clerk falsely accusing me of returning a worn item, I will never again patronage DLX in Bay Plaza.
