Went last night for the first time, and left with so much excitement and energy. If you like puzzles, riddles, mazes, thinking outside the box, etc, this is for you. They grouped the 2 of us with another party of 4 for their Farewell room. Luckily we got along really well with the others. They give you a basic premise and put you in the room (which you may leave/quit at any time if you want to; you're not literally locked in) and set a 60 minute timer. We didn't finish, but we got tantalizingly close and a few more minutes could have made the difference. That shows just how well-timed their puzzles are to complete the task and get out in one hour. If they see you are painfully stuck, they will send you a clue on a TV monitor. If you don't finish by the time limit, they'll come in and help push you along or walk you through to finish, so you can see what you've missed (which is really appreciated!) I can't remember the last time I've had this much fun at a public venue. It's so hard to find things to do that aren't restaurants and bars, and this is really a gem. Just a cherry on top, the staff were super friendly. We'll be back for sure. edit: We went back again last night for the grand opening of their Rampancy escape room. While not as difficult as the other rooms, it had a great story line that was more immersive and entertaining than other puzzle rooms. It was very high-tech with a great production value. We also met the manager, who was equally as friendly as all of his staff. We love this place!! read more

Having completed all of their rooms (yes, all six of them ), I can confidently say that Denver Escape Room has incredible rooms! If you're looking for a challenge, Amnesia is for you. If you want mystical, Grim Stacks is what you want. If you want a mystery, Knight and Rook is the perfect choice. Long story, short: this place has rooms for everyone! 5 Stars. These guys are organized, friendly and fun. We had no idea what to expect, but it was perfect for our two groups of six to do separate escapes. Would totally recommend as good family fun - and we will absolutely be going again. Will also probably do a tram builder for employees as well. Be flexible on the time - if the group in front of you takes a little long, don't panic. They let us work about 10 minutes extra and gave us some hints to help us move forward when we were so close to the next clue. The guys working also provided some silly signs and offered to take photos - we probably passed them 5 phones and they just kept clicking. Super nice folks. read more

My family and I love escape rooms, and found Denver Escape Room while researching things to do on our vacation to Denver. We did Crimson Storm and were paired with a couple (our family has four and they were two, so we were six in total). We got out! We loved the pirate theme and were happy with the puzzles. We were so happy with how it went that we booked a second game for the very next day! We came back the next day and did Grim Stacks. If you're a Harry Potter fan or into magic in general, then this room is for you. Everything from the music to the book names made you feel like you really were in a magical bookstore, and the multiple rooms were impressive. Highly, highly recommend Grim Stacks. We did not make it out, but were so very close...literally on the last part. The game master came and watched as we completed it (after the time was up). For both rooms, they gave us clues when we were clearly stuck. They popped up on a TV screen and were helpful. If you're in the Denver area, check it out! read more

I made the mistake of visiting the Denver Escape Room for my first ever escape experience. I say "mistake" because comparatively speaking, all of the ones I've done beyond that are terrible. Maybe not terrible, but sub-par. DER sets the bar ludicrously high. The staff is pleasant, light-hearted, informative and attentive. I've yet to encounter someone with a bad attitude or an apathetic approach. The rooms themselves are impressively decorated, adding a level of immersion I have yet to find elsewhere. Take Crimson Storm, for example. Not only do they meticulously design the room to make you feel like you're on a ship, but they add the auditory immersion as well, as sounds of waves and an impending storm fill the room. I've done them all, and while that one is probably my favorite, the other three are equally interesting and engaging. The prices are competitive, and it's kind of nice pulling into a relatively empty parking lot in Northglenn instead of paid parking, then walking five blocks to some hole in the wall (like a lot of them. A lot). There are also some decent bars in the area, and a Cinebarre if you want to pre-game or post-game with a beer and a movie (although - fair warning, it's far from the cleanest theater you'll visit). I'm still giving this a five star review because I've done almost a dozen different places now and this place is still my go-to recommendation for first timers and veterans that have been missing out, but I do have some constructive criticisms (don't worry, no spoilers): 1. Crimson Storm: There is one particular puzzle I found quite a bit tedious. They could have accomplished the same ah-ha moment / player achievement without that many steps. 2. Grim Stacks: Tight quarters. As cool as the room was, we only did it with 6 of us and it was a little annoying to navigate around each other. Also consider the room is not considered easy, so bumping into strangers or having them breath on your shoulder can really compound the frustration. 3. Rampancy: My least favorite. It's a cool room, but guys, you should consider renaming it The Red Herring. And no, not just the part you think I'm referring to. The whole f'ing thing. 4. Pipe-Works: If you're asked whether you want to do co-op or competitive I recommend co-op. Despite the description, you're absolutely obligated to work together at some point, which means that if you're doing competitive (we were) you might be stuck waiting for the other team to catch up because you need them. That's it. Pretty minor criticisms, honestly. 5/5 would escape again. EDIT: I forgot to mention one of the best parts and distinguishing elements at DER: the tech. They use RFID, lighting, magnets, contraptions and other clever devices. It's not just a weird room with random props and a lukewarm backstory like a lot of places. Lighting changes, sound cues, things popping open, electronic sequences. It's all there. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect since I had never done an escape room before. I will definitely being doing another one. My girlfriend took me along with some of her coworkers to do the one with the pirate ship. Don't want to spoil with too much detail. The employees were very friendly and were very detailed in explaining the rules and policies. If you win you get your photo taken with a sign of your choice that has to do with winning and same goes with if you lose. You can download the photos off their Facebook page which is cool!! Definitely worth a try if you're up for something different. read more

The Denver escape room was so much fun! The employees where super friendly and helpful. I was a newbie and they made me feel confident in knowing what was expected of me while in the room. The room was challenging but also fun. Definitely not impossible but also not to easy where you escaped in 10 minuets. My husband and I went for a date night and when we left we were already planning on taking our friends and family for next time! I highly recommend the Denver escape room. read more

While visiting family in Denver, we went and did "White Lie" with another couple and liked it so much that we came back two days later and did "Farewell." We were successful with "White Lie" and failed at "Farewell." Lots of fun! It's a really unique activity for a date, whether it's with your spouse or someone you just met. Note that they don't actually lock you in the room because it's the 21st century and we have fire codes against such things, so no need to get claustrophobic. The staff is really great and they give you some hints to keep it fun if you're stuck on something. It's a really enjoyable, unique thing to do. read more

We did the library room... forgot the actual name. This was one of the hardest rooms as per the website but my husband and I decided to try it anyway. As expected, the room was challenging and frustrating at times and needless to say we did not escape on time. However, the experience itself was so much fun! The story line and the clues were very creative so we definitely enjoyed ourselves and would love to come back! read more

super fun experience if you are after something unique and different! bring a group of your most switched-on brainiac friends and prepare for an interesting challenge. you get to play "CSI" for an hour, trying to find and decipher clues and puzzles to solve your room's mystery. helpful hint: wear something comfortable and something you don't mind potentially crawling around the floor in. be prepared to roll up your sleeves while putting your brain in overdrive! ladies, it may be a good idea to leave the high heels, skirts, and massive handbags at home (speaking from experience). if i can make a suggestion to the denver escape room: perhaps down the road consider having two levels of difficulty to choose from. your current rooms do not have a success rate of over 25%.. and while we all love a good challenge, most of us also love to walk out feeling clever and accomplished. perhaps have a second option which offers a success rate closer to 50-60%.. just an idea! read more

One of the best escape the room experiences in the Denver area! The facilities are clean and easy to access. Indoor temperature was warm despite being cold outside. Costs were fair, they accept cash or credit, and parking was easy (private lot, no charge, handicap accessible, right outside the door of the building). Bathrooms were easy to access, clean and well stocked. There is a comfortable waiting area, but not much to do while you wait. (That probably won't matter, since you will likely encounter other people who are interested in this new type of entertainment, and it's fun to geek out about the coolness factor.) The puzzle room itself was large, well furnished, and had interesting props. It was well decorated and fit in beautifully with the overall story (believable settings are always a plus in these types of experiences). The individual clues and puzzles were numerous and challenging. Staff will offer audio suggestions if they think you are stuck (this is thoughtful, and keeps things moving along nicely, but if you don't want any clues at all, you might want to tell them in advance). The story we chose was "Farewell". It had an interesting and plausible storyline with lots of simultaneous activities for multiple people (some thinking, some hands-on, some visual patterns and general 'ability to notice detail', some were math-based). We were with a group of six people total, and there were enough things to see and do that nobody was left out of participating in the experience. Probably not fun for extremely young kids, but I would say this puzzle would be appropriate and fun for ages 10-110. It was definitely a lot of fun, and we will come back again! read more

The puzzles were clever but not overly difficult in The crimson tide. During one of the puzzles a defective, untested piece involving a magnet prevented our group from moving forward. We showed the staff the issue after we ran out of time and they confirmed it was broken. When calling back to inquire about reparations, we were told we must have "reversed the polarity of the magnet.". We were offered 50% off but that issue locked us up for 30 minutes, was incredibly frustrating, and the staff used some illogical reason why it wasn't their fault. I expected a better response and a more willing attitude to resolve the problem. read more

Our small staff (16) participated in the Escape XPRESS team building workshop. Everyone left feeling connected & more unified. Getting everyone together in a setting that was unfamiliar brought out different personality traits that we hadn't seen. The discussion at the end was so valuable as well. Many individuals said they would like to go back at some point and asked me if we could go back as a staff in the future as well. I think it's so hard to find an activity that everyone enjoys and buys into and we found one at Denver Escape Room! read more

We did our first escape room "The Path" in January 2018. I was blown away about how much fun it was. We came back a couple of weeks later with a larger group and did the "Pipeworks." Recently, I did an escape room with a different company, and it just proved to me how superior the Denver Escape Room was. Everything works so smoothly when you solve the puzzle, and each solution leads to logical yet challenging tools to solve the next challenge. We will certainly be back! read more

This is the second time I have done an escape room at this location. The first time went wonderfully, however, when I did the pipe works room today we continuously received hints for puzzles that we had already completed which confused us, ruined the experience, and prevented us from finishing the room on time. When I pay for an escape room I expect the employee watching the room to give correct hints. My group left very disappointed that we had payed so much and didn't receive the experience we should have had. read more

I brought my team for a team building activity. They divided us into two groups and observed each group for a post analysis discussion. Our teams did not "escape" but we were close. We had fun and got to see how we worked together outside of the work environment. It was fascinating. A few surprises. We were so competitive that we were more focused on getting something open rather than allow the process to happen organically and in the order it should happen. We learned that we need to work on team more than individual to get something accomplished. Good stuff. read more

Denver Escape Room's attention to detail was excellent in Grim Stacks Books & Bindings room! The decor, theme and puzzles were fantastic! We almost solved the mystery puzzle of our room to escape. Three of us went and joined two more for five... the limit in this room is six. We could have used the brain power of one more person to solve the final puzzle! We had a BLAST anyway! Did White Lie a few weeks ago. With a group of 6, we made it out, but we didn't have a ton of time left on the clock. Nothing about it in particular really made it stand out from other escape rooms for me, it was just a challenging and well-constructed puzzle. We went into the Egyptian Tomb room with two 10-year old boys and 2 parents. The mix of ages helped us solve a variety of riddles, mazes, codes, and other challenges, and the decor made it feel like you were really in an Indiana Jones or Lara Croft movie... my kids can't stop raving and my husband and I are equally impressed. We have been to three rooms and already scheduling our next adventure. Considering the family night out options, most people go for a movie and leave the theatre with butter covered fingers and disappointment. Escape rooms are different, for about the same price you get an hour "locked" in a room with only your wits to save you! Don't worry though, if you don't make it in the 60 minutes these fun hosts will help you escape. Everyone learns something and everyone leaves with a "wow." This interactive game challenges your observation, intellect and problem solving skills. Don't be shy, get in there and turn stuff over, move things around. Most of all, communicate with your team. They are your strongest asset and will give you the best chance for escape. Great for dates, family night or an adventure in meeting new people! read more
