Over the past 10 years, we have done 4 of the rooms and they are all high quality and very fun. I've been to about 8 different escape rooms in the Denver area and a couple in SF and this is my favorite as a mix of quality puzzles, cool effects, no glitches, and reasonable price. Nowadays, my friend and I love escape rooms so 2 people is perfect for us and we can finish in time, but if you have a slower pace or like having more teamwork, 3-4 is also doable. The rooms are linear in their puzzles and always private, which is huge. They used to be called Denver Escape Room, but updated the name to Puzzle Effect. read more

A really great escape room location with a great and helpful staff. My family and I have done curse of the emerald, path and amnesia and had a great time each time. Our goal is to complete all of them when the family is together- so we have a tradition of sorts. This location allows us to book online for our party, show up, sign paperwork and have fun! I've actually been here 4 times with different groups of people over the last 6 years of living in the Thornton area. We did GrimStacks, The Path, Naught Neb, and most recently we jus did The Rescue. All were super fun and creative. We had to work together really well for all of them. The only puzzle we didn't solve was GrimStacks - that one was super difficult. My favorite one was The Rescue and without the clues from the game master I don't think we would have solved it. We love this place! read more

This is our second time here. Both times were excellent, and we would definitely be back. They have may escape rooms to choose from. It's nice that their site also lists the difficulty and max number of people per room. This time, we did the Naughty Ned Nabs The Nice List, which is listed as "challenging". This one in particular is only 45 minutes, but that was plenty of time for our group. The staff is always extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the rooms and clues. Unlike other places, there's no limits on clues and the staff will display clues on the screen if they feel like you are stuck or not progressing. I would highly recommend checking out the escape rooms here. They are very detailed and fun for your group. read more

My husband took me here for my birthday and it was our first time doing an escape room and it was so much fun! Paige was our game master and she was fantastic. She gave us the clues at the perfect times and we finished the room with 4 minutes to spare! The rooms are very thoughtful and well done and quite challenging (we picked a "more challenging" room). Completing a challenging escape room with a few minutes to spare really makes you feel accomplished. So much fun!!! Being four first timers at an escape room, we really weren't sure what to expect. Riley greeted us upon entering the facility and was very personable and humorous. He answered all of our questions before entering 'The Morgue' and even a few more after watching the initial instruction video. The room was great (once we got the first clue), quite intriguing and well planned! Nothing ever popped out or grabbed us (as stated in the faq's) however there are a few things that will make you jump if you're not prepared for it. Riley coming in and taking a photo of all of us with our findings was icing on the cake as was being able to look into other escape rooms that weren't occupied. We will definitely be back! read more

Puzzle Effect was a lot of fun. The puzzle begins when you arrive, it is situated in a weird multi-unit complex, and finding the entrance is a task. However, once inside, the staff is friendly and super helpful. The room we were in was the curse on the emerald sea. It was challenging and clever. We managed to finish, but we only left 1 minute on the clock. I haven't been to many of these, but it seemed a little pricy. It would defiantly make it hard for me to return. Also, the name Puzzle Effect - Denver is misleading as it is in Northglenn. read more

Definitely recommend! They were super nice and so helpful. Ended up doing two escape rooms back to back since they had an opening. They helped provide hints at the perfect time to move you along when my friends and I were stuck. We had a different game master for the second room but both were amazing! One of the best escape rooms I've done for such a low price! Me and my boyfriend played the morgue and it was full of jump scares and amazing puzzles. Our game master Renee was amazing and helped us out when one of the puzzles didn't work because of power loss. We got our time back and was able to continue playing. Took my parents here for an anniversary outing for something fun and different to do. The room we did was a ghost ship themed room and it was an absolute blast! Erin was our game master and she was great at checking us in and explaining the process, and she gave us some really helpful hints throughout. The room had lots of challenging, fun puzzles, so you've gotta bring your A-game, but you'll really enjoy it. The door remained unlocked the entire time, so if anyone is claustrophobic, you can still get out no problem. Overall, this place is great. You feel comfortable, confident, safe, and well challenged, though I'm sure there are both easier and more challenging rooms depending on your group. My only complaint was a very small one, but at the end, you get a group photo, and I unfortunately had a giant sweat stain on my shirt from the warmth of the room, and didn't realize it until the photo was posted on their Facebook page lol. Not anything major by any means, but I was pretty bummed. read more

What fun! I happen to be visiting Colorado and planned to spend my days hiking. It snowed and rained for three days so I had to find indoor alternatives! After checking out their website and great reviews on Yelp, I booked the Crimson Storm for the five of us. This is my first escape room experience and I think I'm hooked! After a brief explanation of the rules and some helpful hits we were on our way to try and escape the clutches of the Crimson Storm and find the Crimson Heart before it was too late! Boom, we did it! Because I'm such a competitive person I may have had a different opinion if we didn't make it. I'm a horrible looser and probably would have "stormed" off and gave the Crimson Storm the finger on the way out (OK, probably not). DO IT...you won't be disappointed! read more
