The lobby is cool (and misleading as to what is to come). The rest of the experience is not. Low budget and dismal experience for our group. All about opening locks and one's ability to measure liquid to the nth milligram, in a badly lit, extremely uncomfortable room. Do not recommend. read more

Did the "Captive" escape room with my bf the other day and we barely made it out! The owner was nice enough to give us a couple minutes of extra time since we were soooo close at finishing the last puzzle. This was such a hole in the wall but the owner is super enthusiastic and I can tell this is one of his passion. The escape room itself was quite bland, with nothing fancy or crazily decorated. Don't expect a lot of immersion with how it is set up BUT the quality of puzzles and complexity do make up for it. It seemed low budget but there was a lot of thought out behind it. Puzzles were 9/10 challenging with many required some actual physical skills on top of mental skills. It's pretty unique and not something we've seen before. And we've done about 10ish escape rooms together. I would put this as 4/5 in terms of satisfaction but the creativity adds to it. Also it's such a small mom&pop looking place that I would hate for it to go out of business. Come check it out if you're looking for some mental workout! read more

Boulder Escape Room - Escaped in time! - Escape Games Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

Our group enjoyed our experience overall; however, I'm rating only 3 stars because of a few issues we encountered. In the first room we started in, we had the lock combination correct for quite some time, but due to a faulty/hard to open lock, we spent a lot of extra time messing around with the padlock. The worker eventually came in and told us that we had the combination correct, the lock was just stuck. In the next room, same situation. We had the safe combination correct, but it wouldn't open. We probably spent about 15 minutes trying to think of other solutions but couldn't, so we knocked on the door and asked the worker if we had the combination correct. He said we did and that the safe just wasn't opening. He had to tell us what was in the safe so we could move on since it wouldn't open with the correct code. Overall, we had a really good time, but it was frustrating that we probably spent about 15-20 minutes going in circles with things that we had already figured out due to faulty locks/equipment. The worker did give us a little extra time, which was very nice, but we wasted a lot more than what was given back to us. We may have had a pretty good shot at getting through the entire thing if we hadn't had been held up with these few glitches. read more

"Psycho Killer" was our fourth escape room, and our favorite. We felt that all of the puzzles, while challenging, were fair. The employee who set it up and did our orientation was great - helpful and enthusiastic. Really the only nitpick I have is the presence of a tip jar very prominently on the counter. It is the business's responsibility to pay their good employees a good wage. Anyway, we had a great experience and look forward to going back sometime. read more

Friendly, helpful staff and interesting linear rooms. I had a lot of fun and thought the puzzles were the perfect amount of challenge: not obvious but not something so subtle that you are annoyed when it's pointed out to you. The Staff monitors you and gives you hints as they see fit so you don't waste too much time on one puzzle. I've done both psycho killer and the abduction rooms and enjoyed both. The manager was so friendly and fun and we got put with 5 others who knew what they were doing - so it was super fun! Puzzles galore - tricky, creative and challenging. This was an excellent experience!!!! We booked at the last minute and had the best time. We did the Captive room (20% success rate) - it was quite tricky but we made it!!! We're big escape room fans and went with our friends who had never done an escape room before. They loved it just as much as we did. Our host was excellent and gave us clues at the perfect time. We found the puzzles to be appropriately difficult - sometimes escape rooms have clues that are very obscure and aren't very logical. Highly recommend this one! read more

My friends and I had a lot of fun! This was my first escape room experience and we went as a group of four. We booked the abduction because it had the highest escape rate (35%). Once in a lifetime experience for my family and I. Had some relatives in town and decided to go to the escape room. During our time at the escape room we were able to work collaboratively to figure out how to escape each room. The staff made our experience outstanding and I would definitely return. It was so much fun we already want to go back and try another escape. Our spooky host "psycho killer" was a really great guy. We had the best time trying to figure everything out. We Loved the Boulder Escape Room! The entire process from purchasing online, the text message reminder, to checking in was smooth and so easy. The staff was helpful and truly enjoyed what they did.
