The spaces are beautifully decorated. The mini courses are pretty simple themselves, so advanced people will be disappointed, but it's fine for kids, beginners, or the intoxicated. The touch pad tracking makes it really easy. We went at noon, and it was dead. They turned away everyone who didn't have a reservation before 2P. We had a reservation but wished they allowed everyone in because it was just us and it would have been nice to have other people in there to add to the vibe. We planned on trying the food but decided to go somewhere else instead because no one was there and would have been awkward eating alone in a big space. They didn't even put the chairs down in the restaurant areas until around 2P, so it felt like we weren't supposed to be there. read more

The reviews are generally low because the actual game is only about 7 or 8 holes and you can finish fairly quickly. I read this beforehand so we took our time going through it to make the most of it. Came in last Saturday night with a party of 4 right at our 8:30pm reservation to golf. Was told at check in it would be an hour wait because of walk-ins. So, what's the point of making a reservation? It felt like that Seinfeld episode at the car rental place. So we went to the bar to get a drink. About a 20 minute wait for bartender to come over. Once 9:30pm hit we made our way to golf were we were still behind 3 groups checking in. We finally made it in for our round of golf. The touchscreen scorecard was a nice touch and course was overall pretty cool. The holes were a very short distance and pretty basic. We were all done in about 25 minutes. While it's nice to check out once I don't think it would be a repeat stop for us. read more

I was excited to try out The Puttery this soon after the grand opening, conveniently located in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Chicago, no less. I just love that feeling when everything is clean and brand new. We came on a Sunday evening so the place was on the quieter side. We checked in on the second floor and honestly it was hard to hear over the background music what the staff at reception was asking us, and we had to tell him to repeat 3 times before we make out what he was saying. Finally, we figured out that he wanted to know if we wanted to play in The Library (2nd floor, library theme) or on the 3rd floor (ski lodge theme). We went with his recommendation to play at The Library - which was immaculately decorated and a good balance between challenging and easy. You get a scoreboard which follows you as you go to the next station so you can keep score within your party. They spelled both my name and my boyfriend's name wrong - I didn't correct them since it's so minor, but this is one of those little wrinkles that I hope they will iron out over the next couple months. Forgivable, though, for a newly-opened establishment. We also had some food and drinks before we played - and the food was actually very decent! We ordered the meatballs and sausage pesto pizza; I must say I was impressed because I did not expect the food to be good at all given the focus is on the mini-golf. The drink was so-so but not terrible. All the staff who we interacted with were generally friendly and enthusiastic, which made for a good experience. read more

This was so fun! It's a must if you're visiting and like mini-golf! It IS pricey, but the atmosphere and service is worth it! The staff were fun and vibrant even when it was super busy. If you're a fan of paper menus, they don't have them here, but the staff will answer any questions you might have. I got the beef sliders (a little pricey for an appetizer), and fries! They took awhile to come out, but we were able to adjust our tee time. The drinks were interesting, and I liked that you could order basic cocktails if you weren't feeling their specialties. Came on a busy Saturday night with some friends. This place was very busy and great for groups or for a date. Each golf course takes about 90 minutes to get through because of how crowded it gets. There are 9 holes on each floor with a library and ski lodge theme, and you move along in whatever order you sign up in. You have to be with your full group before starting the course/signing up!! Their system had some glitches when we had to make a correction to our group scorecard names. read more

Cute place for a date! I do think it is kind of short for what you pay, but it was fun. The theming is cute too. When we were there, only one course was open so that kinda put a damper on our experience as well. They have a nice bar too where you can hang out after you play. I planned a small corporate event here and we had a great time. I worked with Kate to put together a party package and everything was easy; the package worked out perfectly. Our server Adrian was very friendly. All other staff also very friendly and joked around with us. My team really enjoyed doing a fun activity together-- doing something different! It was fun! We had to wait about an hour to start our game so we got drinks and food which takes a while to come out so make sure you have enough time before playing if you're going to get food. Highly recommend the third floor as it was a good mix of tough and easy holes. Also, Alec was great and showed us the ropes. I have been eyeing this place since I heard that they were opening. Mini golf is one of my fav last times. The aesthetic of this place is amazing. The music is on brand.i was wowed by the decor as soon as I in. I must say that the service was amongst the worse service I have experienced in a while. It started from the moment we checked when the host exclaimed that we didn't have a reservation when we showed him the purchase and even proof of reservation. Out reservation was at 10 PM but was told we couldn't golf until 10:55 PM. We said ok and proceeded to the bar for drinks and food while we waited. We ordered the wings, fries, and sliders. The fries were tasty but all of the food seemed luke warm and not tasty at all. The sliders came in two in an order and wings were soggy and very bland. The bartender messed our drinks up twice, I'm not sure if he was new nor not but he should not be left alone at the bar. Once 10:55 PM and we were ready to gold we were told we had to wait an additional 15-20 min before golfing. Based of this experience, I will have a hard time coming back. read more

The reason this place gets a 4 (which if we did half stars would be a 3.5) is due to their "reservations". Prior to coming to the Puttery, you can purchase a reservation beginning at a specific time. BUT what they forget to tell you- is this is not actually a reservation but a time frame for when you will play. We arrived at the Puttery at 2:30 and checked in. The sweet host informed us that the next available time to play is not till 3:10. This is strange to me- why have people book and pay in full if you honor their reservation time as much as those who walk in. This started the whole thing off on a bitter note for me. Which ultimately was unfortunate because the staff and drinks were excellent and the library course was short but sweet. The golfing was made easy with an electronic score card and our server was attentive to check on us throughout our play to allow us to continue to order and drink. This is a fun outing BUT I caution you that a "RESERVATION" is not actually a reserved specific time. If you know that going in, I hope it wont set you off on the bitter note. Fun place and we can't wait to go back to try the other course. read more

Went here for the first time with my bf and off the back we had a line but shot forward very quick 10/10 but what I didn't expect was to go in for a 70s music night just to hear a crap ton of TikTok songs and Taylor swift. The drinks were inconsistent with taste, the DJs transitions made no sense and it was all around kinda disappointing when you travel to hear certain music just to hear swifties screaming all night. read more

This review is based on staff. I had a friends birthday, we were going to make a reservation online but all the slots were open, so we figured go to dinner and just go after. I did happen to call and leave them a message to make a reservation just in case, because they require payment for each person online and it's a birthday. No one called back... this was same day reservations kind of thing... so based on all the openings online, didn't seem like an issue. I took an Uber from Lincoln Park to West loop only to be told they have 2 parties and are at full capacity. I asked to speak with the manager, since a group of 8 were about to arrive and they never returned my message and if I even went online now, it showed openings. The manager Isiah came and said they had an issue with online booking and were calling people to give them refunds. I was like, I called and left a message, how come no one called me back? He said they were busy. They did absolutely nothing to mend the error on their part but said go to punch bowl. This was really poor on their part as a business. read more
