Just picked up a to go order today. Completely overpriced for the tacos. They forgot to put the crema sauce in the shrimp tacos... shrimp wasn't seasoned. It looks nothing like the picture the business owner posted. The chicken tinga tacos were also just very very mediocre. Gumbo was 8 dollars for a cup and it had this stringy texture in the roux.. overall would not recommend. I'm really unsure how this place got 4.5 stars Not only did we receive below average food, they automatically add a gratuity of 15 percent to your to go order. You can't remove it but you CAN add additional tip!! If the food was incredible I would've let that pass but this was such a disappointment. read more

Tried this place out while I was in town for work and it was so disappointing. I truly don't understand how this place has a few decent reviews which is what led me here unfortunately. I ordered in for my team and let me begin by how expensive it was. It seems incredibly overpriced, even for the area. When I picked up, the service was terrible. I had to wait forever and when it was finally ready, the dude was so rude about it. He looked like I had annoyed him with my mere presence. When I came back with the food, my team and I were heavily disappointed in both the quality and quantity. Everything was underwhelming and nothing was satiating. This place was great. Very cool spot next to the airport, full bar and really neat venue. Rustic mixed with modern industrial. I dig it. Alright, good. Our party tried the Burger (fantastic), protein bowl (good), and the New Mexico Green *Chile. I say "Chile" because I'm from New Mexico and that is how you spell Chile. "Chili" is like Texas chili beans. So it bugs me when restaurants say "New Mexico" but then misspell Chile. lol We also had the wings, which were my personal favorite. Crispy and seasoned perfectly. Anyway, everything was good. The green "chili" was ok, really strong cilantro and smoky flavor, but not the normal cup of Chile. The protein bowl was tasty, nothing out of this world. The burger was the real winner though. Burger was cooked perfectly, fries were very good. This is Aspen, so expect Aspen prices. $7 for my beer which I thought was a little steep for being off the main strip of Aspen. Definitely check this place out! read more

I'm not gonna say that Aspen is a fancy town.. but the last thing I expected to find there was a local bar that had a local feel and didn't feel like.. I was on the Aspen Social Watch List. Super down to earth burgers. The kind that they make TV Shows about. The kind Youtubers put on thier top 3 list. The kind that... Listen, it's a freaking good burger. Good selection of beer, and very good selection of harder drinks. This place is a bit out of the way, which might sound less than ideal, but you won't be waiting in line, won't be required to wear a tux and will get good food, good drinks and all that goes with it. Went to Aspen for the weekend and like to find local spots and this place was so good! We stopped here for lunch I had the poppers and sliders and my boyfriend had the pizza and everything was tasty. I've eaten here several times. It's a hidden gem of the Aspen Area for the quality of food. Burgers are best for the buck but still Priced for Aspen at $17 for a single burger and fries but its way better than the deconstructed crap other places in town try to pass off as a Burger. The staff is always welcoming and quick to take my order and grab a beverage while they make my order! Plenty of Tvs to watch sports on! Online orders are where I feel this Spot needs to improve, A few times I've ordered a burger with Just lettuce cheese tomato and onion but each time the burger has come with everything they typically put on it. Not sure if its their online system not informing them of the change request or if kitchen just doesn't look fully at the order ticket. Regardless of the small issues I still feel this is one of the best spots to wind down for Ski or Hike Day! read more

Excellent tacos! The corn tortillas were just the right consistency. The meats were surprisingly well seasoned and the sour cream was this interesting fusion flavor which really made the tacos explode in your mouth. It's a little hole. When we walked in there was just one family outside in the patio. Ordered shrimp tacos and pizza. Tacos, chips and salsa were all tasty. Pizza wasn't bad but the homemade chips were tasty! Great stop on the way out of Aspen. read more

Best take out experience ever. We order here once a week, and they deliver to your car. Aside from the amazing tacos, salads, grass-fed burgers, and salsa verde (such good salsa), here's the best part: we started unpacking our food at home and realized the chicken was left off of one of our salads. No biggie; these things happen. Before we knew it, the owner was calling us at home to apologize for leaving the chicken off of the salad. He tracked us down and asked us how he could make it right. I have been to Steeps at least 10 times. I went tonight and I will never go back. I, typically, tip 30 to 50% and will never tip less than 20%. Even when service is bad. Tonight I tipped 9% and came close to leaving nothing. I have never in my life left a 9% tip. I have also never had service like I received at Steeps tonight. Too bad. See ya, bye. read more

Rudest service I've experienced in a long time in Aspen. I'm a friendly person, local, who has worked in the service industry. Upon hearing the beer on tap, I commented the beer list was limited (IPAs and bud light). The waiter stormed away and and later came back to tell me that this "wasn't a place where he had to hold his tongue, and he could tell me what he thought of me if he wanted ." And that was the least of it. It was so intense. I apologized profusely but my partner and I ate our less than mediocre meal in silence feeling like I was in detention in high school. I get that this has been a tough summer in the service industry, but this was an extreme reaction. It was so uncomfortable, so aggressive, the meal sucked and we will NEVER go back. If I could give zero I might. I was so disappointed with the service and the food. I read reviews before going there and was excited for the burgers and tacos. Well they only have one burger so not sure what they mean when they say any of our burgers are good since there is only one, which is literally a cheeseburger nothing special. My husband ended up order green chili and then two of the tacos. When our food came out, our server dropped off the food and didn't bring the green chili, we would have mentioned it to her but she never came back to ask how the food was or fill up our waters she was too busy chatting with a guy sitting at the bar. My burger was subpar at best the fries were cold and stale and my husbands tacos were ok but nothing special. As for the green chili we will never know since it never came out. read more
