Carlene is an exceptionally good cat sitter. I have used her services several times to watch at first a healthy cat, and later a very sick cat for short and long trips I've taken. Last month I had to leave on a 10-day trip to Europe just as my cat - who has cancer and other serious health issues - was not eating, was dehydrated, and was in very frail condition. I talked with Carlene, who now knows my cat well, before I left and gave her authority to act on my behalf at the vet's. In short, Carlene took the cat to the vet a couple of times, had her hydrated, picked up new medications and special food (more vet trips), bought her a heating pad to make her comfortable, syringe-fed her, gave her the multiple medications, and visited my cat at my home at least 2 - 3 times a day. She also kept me apprised of my cat's condition and got my OK to proceed with all of this by e-mail. By the time I returned, my cat appeared hydrated, livelier, and in much better shape than when I left. I also learned from Carlene many things about how to care for my sick cat myself.
Carlene is extremely knowledgeable about cats and what they want and need. She plays with them, grooms them, clips their nails, and keeps the litter box scrupulously clean. For older or sick cats, she is even experienced at giving shots and administering subcutaneous fluids (which she did for my cat in my home a couple of times when it was necessary). In fact, elderly and sick cats are her specialty. She brings in papers, mail and packages, waters indoor and outdoor plants, takes out trash bins, and generally takes care of my house the way I would. For peace of mind if you have to be away, you can't leave your cat and home in better hands than Carlene's. Her pricing is very fair - she is worth every penny and more! If you live in her general area in coastal North County, use her services and, like me, you will be very glad you did. read more
